Also, I disagree about the lack of progressive policy. The platform is progressive and right now they’re trying to get everyone else on board. Public option for healthcare is a step in the right direction, taxes will be increased on the wealthy, college will be free for people who can’t afford it, and they have a comprehensive climate plan. It’s not all the way there but it’s moving in the right direction.
Anytime they asked John Kasich about some of Biden’s more progressive policies he always says that it’s okay if they disagree on things. Let’s relax on this idea that it’s some moderate right wing campaign.
Yeah. I'm fine with including former Republicans in the platform. I'm old enough to know that people do genuinely change their perspective and have remorse for their past actions. But where I have a problem is people who were architects of Iraq War and people like John Kasich who were horrible on women & LGBTQ issues as recently as 5-6 years ago. At the end of the day though, if you told me that Bush & Cheney themselves endorsing Biden would be what it takes to beat Trump well, I would shiver my spine and say "If that's what it takes..."My problem is more with the naivety some party officials have in terms of accepting support from those who shouldn't have a platform.
The platform for this election campaign is plenty good enough for me.
It was quite the way to end a day in which another major Trumper got arrested and Trump himself chose to put Ohio's electoral votes back into play. Very stable, very genius. Believe me.
I feel like those tweets just cater to the alt-right. We are already lending credence to their bullshit by trying to get around mail-in voting. It's the equivalent of trying to appease a racist who believes a certain race is inferior by trying to point out ways they aren't. You are getting in their frame of mind, and dealing on their terms. You've already failed.
A lot of people need mail-in voting. Telling them to try and vote in person to get around that is the wrong message, and will demotivate some from voting for whom in-person is quite difficult. You are giving into fascism while taking away from yourself.
