I forgot to post about it but I dropped off my ballot at City Hall the Friday before Indigenous People's Day Weekend. And I checked Maine Secretary of State's website to see if it had been accepted and it had. I ranked Biden #1 for POTUS and the Green Party candidate Lisa Savage #1 (and Sara Gideon #2) for US Senate just cause I'm not completely ready to fighting the liberals of TRTSM ;)

As long as Trump isn't dead he will definitely be coming back for more and be losing elections in 2024, 2028, whatever until he's dead.

The only thing I can say about Trump coming back for more if he is elected out is HOW. Because it seems very clear than not only will Trump high tail it to Russia upon losing (he's even projected lately that he might "have to leave the country" if the election doesn't go his way) but he's going to hide from the inevitable prosecution he will face upon no longer being protected by the office (in Russia). So I guess, I'd like to see him try to run again after losing, it seems borderline impossible at this point. And isn't there laws in place for a seating president to not be able to try again after already being in office?

I think you're greatly overestimating the willingness and ability to prosecute him. Even if they do have a silver bullet that will nail Trump, I got a gut feeling that they'd rather just cut a deal that he go away and not run again than actually put him in jail.

The amendment only restricts an individual to being elected more than twice. It does not matter if they are consecutive terms.

Trump won't get convicted by a jury. It is almost pointless.
Maybe I've been reading too much galaxy brained left wing social media but I wouldn't be shocked if the Biden Justice Department basically told Trump "Hey. Don't contest the election and go do cable news BS for a few years and we'll drop investigations."

They should keep investigating him and scoop up everyone in his orbit. I just don't see how they would be able to put a jury together that could convict him. The cult members are really only loyal to him.

Just voted this afternoon :)
Just a little more detail, for anyone who cares. I'm in PA. I went in thinking (not sure why) I'd go to a machine and vote like normal. Turns out it was a mail in ballot drop off location. I had not applied for a mail in ballot, BUT! They had the applications, so did that, waited 20-30 minutes for them to bring out my mail in ballot, then filled it out & shoved it in the ballot box.

17% of Registered Voters in MA Already Cast Ballots

"That's about 809,000 votes as of 4 p.m. on Monday, to be precise, according to Secretary of State Bill Galvin's office. This count includes ballots from both early in-person voting, which started three days ago and mail-in voting.

"The number of ballots cast right now is equal to 24% of all ballots cast in the 2016 election," said Galvin's spokesperson Deb O'Malley in an email."

More Than 34 Million Have Voted Already

"Votes cast by mail and in person this election cycle have now reached 24.5% of the more than 136 million total ballots cast in the 2016 presidential election. By Oct. 23, 2016, only 5.9 million Americans had voted early.

Of about 13.7 million mail ballots tracked by the U.S. Elections Project, registered Democrats have returned 54.4%, compared with 23.6% by Republicans and 21.5% by voters with no party affiliation.

When it comes to in-person voting, the margin is narrower. Registered Democrats have cast 43.3% of in-person ballots, with Republicans closely trailing at 35.4% and unaffiliated voters at 20.8%, according to the project."

Unfortunately, the race appears to be tightening. After several new polls showed a closer race, including two with Biden up by 3 and 1 only leading by 2 points, the 538 aggregate has dropped a half point in just a couple days, with Biden leading now by an average of 10.1. Other polls have shown tightening senate races and/or some Republicans widening their leads. I don't think these are calls for alarm but they might illustrate a lack of comfort.

Yes, record numbers are voting early. But some of those are Trumpers. It is important to remember that this country has an extraordinary capacity to rationalize things they know are wrong and bad if there is fame and status involved, if the wrong or bad thing involves TV, online, or sports stardom.

There is not yet enough solid evidence for me to believe even a single percent of evangelicals have changed their minds (let alone their hearts). With the media continuing to work towards a close election, if not Trump's reelection, this remains too close for comfort or much confidence.

Edit: moments after posting the above, the 538 aggregate has dropped below 10 points.

The media is already both sidesing and dismissing the Borat movie and its contents. Cohen should have done reality tv and tabloid adultery instead if he wanted to be taken seriously.

...that would make sense if the number of Berners who now support Jorgensen wasn't alarmingly high. Stop trying to pass Hillary's decades of disdain from the general public, and outright hatred by people who neoliberalism has allowed to fall into poverty without a way back, as mere misogyny.

Just got my ballot in the mail. Already filled it out. Already nervous. Yeah casually optimistic has turned to fatalism. Don't know how I'm going to handle the 3rd
