It's almost like they're not at all serious about at least one of those wildly divergent things.

That's a good tax plan that more people who hate the rich should be made aware of.

The only thing that might prevent enough voters for falling for the "Biden will raise everyone's taxes" lie is if the Trump campaign is too broke to run the ad too many times.

They're not gonna run that ad because Trump really does want to lose. Same reason why he hasn't put a single cent of his personal money into this campaign. He really went up into Pennsylvania last night and shit on the whole area in a calculated way, then cut his speech way short. I can only perceive that as trying to get people to vote for someone else.

Also, look at what states they've been holding a lot of these events, they speak for themselves. They're fishing for votes in some cities with pretty small populations, and places where it's easily believable they will lose by 10-12%.

I've seen the ad several times in Wisconsin. Instead of dozens of times, I would have seen it hundreds of times if the campaign had more funds.

They also adjusted their polling models for more and more uneducated people voting at the rate of 2016 or even higher. The results still come back like that.

That's what Trump should've done the first time. Biden is prone to gaffes and misspeaking. But he got to bat a thousand in the debate because he never had a chance to mess up. It was an extraordinary gift from his opponent. If Trump can behave himself tonight, it's possible that Biden could screw up and that'll be part of the news cycle through the weekend. But I'm not sure that Trump has the maturity or mental capabilities to allow room for that. And even if Biden does slip up, it might not have the same impact as it would've a few weeks ago. And it will have competition from the third wave of covid, Rudy, Trump paying 6-figure taxes to communist China, etc, through the weekend news cycle.

I hope that ends up being a good sign for electoral votes and senate seats in GA, MT, NC, and Texas.

My fear is that too many Republicans are going to vote on election day. And that fear isn't just that it makes the election too close. But these motherfuckers aren't wearing masks, are spreading conspiracy lies about the virus, etc. Yes, there'll be the schadenfreude when they get sick. But after they've lined up to vote in person, they're going to go back out into society and touch things, breathe on people, harass others, etc. I cannot help but have some concern and anxiety that Republicans will end up turning in person voting into massive superspreader events throughout a country already into a third wave.

In NC (a 50/50 state) I waited in line 30 minutes and did not see one voter without a mask. Unless everyone who voted that day was a Dem (which I don't mind), it seems that even Republicans are swallowing the mask pill to vote in person.

Maybe I'm just anxiety-ridden about how things are going up here in Wisconsin.

And 5 points is way too close to the MOE, imo. Meanwhile, the covid situation is tragic. The state legislature, gerrymandered (maybe permanently) GOP, has only met a couple dozen days this year. They, and Republican judges, have blocked every effort to combat the virus. Until proven otherwise, and a 5pt lead for the good and decent Biden isn't nearly enough for me, I am not taking Wisconsin's voters for granted.

Even if he gets blown out, I think either he or a Trump proxy (or maybe a Trump relative) is the Republican nominee in 2024. I think it'd take multiple blowout losses to convince RNC that pandering to the lowest common denominator isn't a winning strategy.

Pennsylvania GOP is fighting to not count early voting ballots until election day in order to help muddy the waters for Premier Trump.

Not gonna happen. The case of what states are allowed to do in terms of receiving and counting ballots adherent to their state laws was already decided in SCOTUS a week or so ago.

The Dems would have to win the senate by more than one in order for this to happen. The Vermont governor would be able to appoint a Republican for six months.

I never got how Vermont has Republican governors regularly (this is 2nd one this decade) despite being like 75% Democrat. Maybe the elusive Bernie loving libertarians that me and @snuffbox talked about earlier.
