Noticeable uptick in Trump advertising in Wisconsin over the past several days.

If Biden gets as close in the POTUS race as Beto did in the Senate race in 2018, it's got to be considered a victory. A Democrat probably hasn't come within 5% of winning POTUS race in Texas since at least Clinton in '96 maybe as far back as LBJ. I think Biden getting that close would solidify Texas a purple state.

(checked Wikipedia and Bill Clinton did lose to Dole 43%-48% but a Democrat has won in Texas as "recently" as Jimmy Carter in 1976. Still it'll be huge if Biden even gets close)

I gotta post a few things that explain why I so strongly feel that this isn't like 2016. I posted them in chat last night but I got lazy and didn't copy them over.

1. Hillary Clinton's approval rating was only ahead of 41% (went up to 43%) for about a whole week through the entirety of 2016. She was never popular at any point in the election cycle. To me, this proves beyond any reasonable doubt that people were holding their nose to vote for her and did not really want to do it.

2. Joe Biden also started this election cycle with an overall unfavorable rating. In May his favorability was in the low 40's and even below that. Now? He's had a complete reversal in his favorability ratings. He currently has a net favorability rating of 6-12%. That is, his favorability rating is at least 10% higher than Hilldawg's. It's over 50%. Why is that exactly? We can't just say that Trump word barfing all the time is the only reason, because he did that four years ago and people still hated his opponent.

There's two things that happened this year that I didn't think would happen. One is that Joe Biden became popular, said things that people wanted to hear, and people actually wanted to vote for him. I must reiterate that at no point did any group of people sampled ever say that they liked Hillary Clinton. The second thing is that all of Trump's bullshit attacks actually made Biden a little bit more popular because of the way in which he dealt with them.

Also, Hillary being unpopular had a lot to do with suppressing turnout in the surprise states that Trump won. That ain't gonna happen again because Biden is not unpopular.

Also,

The media talks about a lot of bullshit, but people know what's most important to them. Biden is also way more to the left than Hilldawg on this kind of shit.

PA Court Says Ballots Cannot Be Rejected Due to Signature Comparisons

"The ruling is a defeat for President Donald Trump’s campaign and other Republicans, who had challenged the decision by Pennsylvania election officials, arguing that efforts to match signatures on ballots to signatures on voter rolls were necessary to prevent fraud.

"We conclude that the Election Code does not authorize or require county election boards to reject absentee or mail-in ballots during the canvassing process based on an analysis of a voter’s signature,” the state Supreme Court wrote in an opinion signed by six of the seven justices, including five Democrats and one Republican."

Getting some bad-acid flashbacks to 2004 with the media's contortions to defend the GOP and big, taxpayer-funded oil companies.

Only 36% of Americans think we should not reduce and eventually eliminate oil consumption. 73% of Americans think we should focus on expanding renewable energy. The media class is full of people who almost certainly have stock in oil companies and have absolutely no idea what the average person thinks on this subject.

Also, just like everything else, I think there's no way the media can change anyone's mind. Also of course, all the people with shitty opinions on this subject are voting for a Republican ticket.

Just saw my first Trump Train today. Of course, it was in NH. My friend compared them to a gang but I don’t think crips and bloods drive down Main Street honking their horns and sneering as people flip them off.

More positive and surprising is I saw way more Biden signs/paraphernalia.

The debate doesn't appear to have moved the needle at all. The second to last weekend news cycle is, again, dominated by coronavirus and Trump's failures with it. The last couple days have each broken records for new cases in the US and several close staffers to Pence have tested positive. Tonight is the 60 Mins episode where Trump whined and walked out.

And a new Dallas Morning News poll has Biden leading in TX by 3 points, less than a quarter of a point within the margin of error there.

The Russians still haven’t finished their 2016 mission. They need Trump to lose. The next phase is a bunch of shit they were doing while people in the general public aren’t putting the pieces together. How does everyone think all this public white supremacist organization and shit like Q came into being? I mean they’re only setting up forums and web hosting for these people while spreading mass disinformation and infiltrating all the previous infrastructure. All this can be easily looked up and I’m sure the FBI is aware of it, but Trump has been trying hard to cut this shit off at the knees because he’s a gullible useful dumbfuck. His advisers are somehow more evil than him so consider that too. The point is to use the after effects from this coming election to rip the country into pieces. They want these people to commit guerrilla terrorist acts that will divide everyone more because of whoever it is they’ve targeted for those attacks. At least this is what Putin thinks will happen.

Trump not being in power also more easily radicalizes his supporters into favoring these things. I’m pretty sure we’re nowhere near the worst part of Trump having been in power yet and won’t be for a couple years. I mean if you think this summer was bad you ain’t seen shit yet.

If it is true (and it all but certainly is) that Putin doing these things to sow dissension and domestic terrorism in the US, then the end game would appear to be clear. And if it is true (and I am certain this is) that Putin wants a return to Soviet-style Russia and a larger hegemony over this earth, than he is playing a long game for exactly that. And much damage has been done already, here and abroad; and, yes, it will take years to correct even in a best case scenario.

There is some room for optimism, though. If the good guys win in 8 days, they might be serious about holding Putin accountable, about not sucking him off because reasons. It is probably better than 50/50 that the Americans retake the White House and Senate (and add to the House lead). That would give a much better chance of fixing things sooner than too much later. And Putin, a real life James Bond villain, is not a young man. He will not live forever.
