Shit, I just remembered that Tennessee and UT have a weird rights issue about how they can market "UT" in different parts of the US. I wonder if that'll be modified now that we'll both be in the SEC or if they stick to what's been drafted.

Boston College finally takes on UConn in a New England regional-based match up. Note Idaho's successful season too considering they recently dropped back down to the FCS level finally. Their last .500+ seasons were 2016 at 9-4 and 2009 at 8-5 in the FBS level.

Absolutely loaded FCS slate today.

Cornell (4-2) takes on Princeton (6-0) at 1 PM on ESPN+
#22 Fordham (6-1) takes on #6 Holy Cross (7-0) at 1 PM on ESPN+
#18 Rhode Island (5-2) takes on #10 William & Mary (6-1) at 1 PM
Southern (5-2) takes on #9 Jackson State (7-0) at 2 PM on ESPN3
#7 Chattanooga (6-1) takes on #24 Furman (6-2) at 2 PM on ESPN3
#11 Montana (5-2) takes on #5 Weber State (6-1) at 3 PM on ESPN+
#8 Incarnate Word (7-1) takes on Texas A&M Commerce (5-2) at 3 PM on ESPN+
Illinois State (5-2) takes on #4 North Dakota State (5-2) at 3:30 PM on ESPN+
#14 Idaho (5-2) takes on #2 Sacramento State (7-0) at 9 PM on ESPN+

Phil Jurkovec is an awful QB with a wonky release. BC has been able to move the ball down the field in spite of him but he's totally name/hype than actual play.

... maybe we really are the #3 team in the country. This is weird, I remember these kinds of heady days back in the late 90s but I wasn't as mature a fan of the sport. Next week is up there with Ohio State/Michigan in terms of national significance this season. I would have never believed that the Georgia game would be a top three matchup coming into the season. I figured at best we'd be ranked somewhere in the low teens with a couple of hard losses to good teams, NEVER saw this coming.

I still expect to come back down to earth when Tennessee gets slapped down next week, but what a season regardless.

Holy Cross and Fordham had a spectacular game that lived up to the hype.

"In a rare occurrence for October, Saint Francis has secured the first automatic bid to the FCS playoffs – out of the Northeast Conference."

"Seven of the eight winless teams were in action, and five of them posted their first win of the season. In the NEC, LIU outlasted Duquesne 50-48 in two overtimes, giving coach Ron Cooper his first victory with the Sharks, while Central Connecticut State (1-7) defeated Wagner 34-7. In the Southland, Lamar beat Nicholls 24-17 to end the longest FCS losing streak at 15. Also, Murray State (1-8) defeated Tennessee State 19-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference, and Drake (1-8) beat Stetson 24-17 in the Pioneer Football League."

Nice to see these southern HBCU rivalries staying hot: Alabama State’s 24-17 win over rival Alabama A&M drew an FCS season-high crowd of 67,532 to Legion Field in Birmingham. The Hornets ended a four-game losing streak in the Magic City Classic.

BC-UConn: We are going to be the worst FBS football game this weekend.
Miami-Virginia's 4 OT game with zero touchdowns: Someone hold my beer this football so I can kick a field goal

You definitely know recruiters are going to use that against MSU and it's a very bad look for the program and the HC (stating he had no idea it happened...) to not only have it on video but reportedly there were 2 instances where a Michigan player was beat up. That's all on the HC and he needs to be held accountable... other teams aren't having beatdowns in tunnels during their rivalry games.

Another post about mediocre to poor New England college football teams that only me and @HarleyQuinn could possibly care about. Emmett Moorehead actually looked real good filling in as starter for BC! Four touchdowns and no interceptions. First BC QB to throw 4 touchdowns in his first start since 1981.

Your beloved Marshall University Thundering Herd beat App State yesterday to move to 6-4, technically becoming bowl eligible with a waiver for scheduling (Marshall and App were scheduled to play each other OOC this year and the sudden move of Marshall to the Sun Belt forced both teams to play a second FCS school).

When they were 4-4 this seemed unlikely, but they are more likely to finish 8-4 or 7-5 than 6-6. After a rollercoaster season that was derailed by grossly ineffective play by transfer portal 5th year QB Henry Colombi III, RS Fr Cam Fancher has taken over as the starting QB and is finding his stride. He’s not throwing for 400 yards and 5 TDS per game or anything like that, but it is crazy what a downfield passing game looks like when the other guy wouldn’t throw anything over the middle or further than eight yards downfield.

This was also the “75 Tribute Game,” paying respects to the 75 players, coaches, and fans that perished in the 11/14/1970 plane crash, and the teams and coaches and fans that kept the program alive afterward.

They also have an outside shot at finishing 2nd in the Sun Belt East if they can win out to get to 5-3 in conference play.
