Politico is a terrible site. That said, the polling is too close for comfort. Whether that's because the polling is wrong (which I think it is to a degree) or not, I don't know. Either way this is going to be much closer than comfortable considering the choices.

Without even looking at the article (because Politico is indeed terrible) it can be safely assumed that it's talking about the recent Times/crayon poll. And I have no interest in discussing that poll as NYT is terrible for the same reasons. Times, Politico, etc have gone so far out of their way to be "fair" that they actively, deliberately support Trump. They do not deserve attention, respect, or money.

But, because of that, and the pathetic-ness of so many American voters, this race is indeed close. Too close. This guy's anti-American efforts a few years ago literally killed cops and yet he might still win again. While I'm dismissive of Trump worshippers like Silver, Tapper, Times, etc on here, in real life I'm doing whatever I can to help keep Trump (and all Republicans) out of office. Donating, volunteering, door knocking, having tough conversations, refusing to fall for any conspiracy theories aimed at making me mad or afraid, writing letters, going to events, staying informed and informing others, etc. I wish so many people in this country hadn't chosen to embrace hatred and reality tv celebrity worship but wishing doesn't really do anything.

You've asked that same question, of me and others, several times and been answered several times.

My prediction for the debate-It will probably be boring and won't have much of an effect. I'll watch it, but the vice presidential debate seems more interesting TBH. That out of the way, if I'm wrong, then

How long is it expected to go? I don't get off work until an hour after it starts.

Because I came across them today

He's up by only 2 percent in Florida by the most recent polls. Even other polls have them within the margin of error. That's Florida!

https://thehill.com/homenews/campai...s-leading-donald-trump-north-carolina-survey/ The latest has her up on in NC which along with Penn is likely to be one of the decisive states this year.

She also continues to lead in Michigan, Wisconsin, PA, Nevada by most polls I've seen.

I mean the last debate was the most consequential debate in Presidential history (since it's what lead to Biden being forced out) so it isn't going to be on that level. That said I think this could still be a big deal. Trump hasn't done any prep for this so this is the best chance Kamala is going to get to score points on him.

Something like 25% of Americans are still saying they don't know enough about her. She has to show she won't take Trump's shit, while still getting across what she actually wants to accomplish.

Started the debate about 30 minutes late so catching up now. Up to the abortion stuff. Kamala is holding her ground just fine. No way Biden could have handled this.

Kamala came in with a very smart strategy here IMO. She wanted to bait him into saying as much insane shit as possible while not getting fact checked a ton herself or anything. She did that.

I'm catching up now and imo it was a very bad night for the oldest nominee in history.

My centrist friend thought Kamala won, but that it was close and Trump didn't look bad. I don't really know how to respond to that.
