Trump's latest genius plan is to demand the GOP shut down the government unless they tack on his election law bullshit https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-save-act-republicans-avoiding-government-shutdown-1955951

First attempt today failed by 2 votes. Every time they do this, it backfires terribly on them.

There's still persistent reports Trump is planning on going to Springfield and no one wants him there.

On my way into the office this morning I saw a Trump ad on a billboard along the PA turnpike, one of those electronic billboards that cycle through a handful of different ads. And fellow posters, I urge you to make sure you are sitting down, and make sure you don't have any food or drink in your mouths, before reading what the ad said.

So below the Trump/Vance part, it said, and I am being 100000% serious here, "Champion for equal rights". And then below that, it said "Endorsed by Kanye West".

Saw another on the way back home that said "Bringing America together", with "Endorsed by Dana White" below it.

I think I'm going to need to keep an eye out for more to see what other complete nonsense they are pushing.

When I was driving through York a few years ago they had a billboard depicting Biden as a Taliban member, claiming the withdrawal was in support of the Taliban. With the outfit and all that.

Maybe Biden was one of the Taliban terrorists that Trump released

May not be locked in for this election despite the attempt.

"The office of Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, a Republican, previously warned the GOP-run board that this move would likely be unlawful because state laws don’t allow local election workers to hand-count ballots before the votes are officially counted.

Carr’s office also warned the board that it might be too close to the election to make these changes – and that judges might even block these changes because of long-standing precedents that favor maintaining the status quo on the eve of elections.

“The Board runs substantial risk of intruding upon the General Assembly’s constitutional right to legislate. When such intrusion occurs, the Board rule is highly likely to be ruled invalid should it be challenged,” Elizabeth Young, a senior attorney in Carr’s office, said in the letter on Thursday, warning the board that it might be overstepping its authority."

That's her 4th or 5th rally in Wisconsin with huge crowds. There will probably be more. Tomorrow Josh Shapiro is campaigning with Senator Baldwin in rural areas because Wisconsin is start to lean into this California lazyboy Hovde. I can only hope all this work pays off. If nothing else, the voters won't have the "well they didn't campaign here" excuse this time.

How dumb Americans must be to fall this every single election for decades. Both Clintons were going to take the guns, Obama, Biden, Warren and Feingold, Harris, Kerry, Dole, every congressional election, each and every governors race. These beyond-dumb folks fall for it every single time even though it's been proven a lie every single time.

If he loses then he's going to bolt.

The trends continue to be very positive.

"In New Hampshire, a poll from Saint Anselm College Survey Center found Harris up by 8 points over Trump, 2 points better than Harris's pre-debate average in the state. Polls in Alaska, Arkansas and New Mexico also came in above average. A poll from the right-leaning Trafalgar Group released Monday showed Harris up by 2 points in Nevada. Polls from InsiderAdvantage and the highly rated Marquette University Law School found Harris up by 2 and 5 points, respectively, among likely voters in Wisconsin. And on Sunday, the always-closely-watched Selzer & Co./Des Moines Register poll showed Trump leading Harris by just 4 points in Iowa, a state our model had been expecting Trump to win by 8."

You can tell it's another good thing (there's a lot of those with her) because it hurt Manchin's feelings.

I'm scared to post polls, cause then y'all will browbeat me and I will then realize no one is talking old school wrestling without Kamala around to banter with and I'll quit the board for another week until the desperation to post stupid things about 1988 WWF hits me and I crawl back into the cesspool with this bucketful of assholes.

Yeah the guy posting "MAGA is rising (fire emoji)" is a really unbiased source.

You can post whatever polls you want (and people will react to them however they want). The overall trend is still positive for Kamala. I'm on a political board where people are living and dying by every poll that comes out every single day and seeing them yo yoing around is just pathetic.

Quinnipac is the only poll showing Trump up. The overall forecast has shown Kamala fluctuating from a 55-68 percent chance to win the election from the moment they started. Biden was forecasted to lose at his last update. The polling is going to show this as a close race right up until the end. Some of us like @909 and I think Kamala is going to win this comfortably and the polls aren't reflecting that. Maybe we're wrong. We'll find out all too soon.

I'm on campus for 12+ hours on Tuesdays so I voted today. It was busier than I expected but still went quick and easy.

How much time did you choose to spend looking for a poll that might get the reaction you were hoping for?

Yeah I think this will be closer than people think, I’m not comfortable about it at all. National margins mean nothing to me, swing states are all very close and it’s easy for things to teeter one way or the other.

I know one thing though, if Biden was running I’d be pretty sure that he’d lose.

I'm of the opinion that Trump is being undersold a bit in polls but I also think that Harris is being undersold given the new registration of voters effect.

I think Kamala wins but I don't think it's a big blowout and I can see a few swing states going for Trump that end up making the entire thing more contested than pollsters originally suspected. That's generally why I favor specific poll numbers around questions like: If you had to vote for X or Y today, who would you vote for? etc. that are a bit less wishy-washy but still not all that truthful/legitimate.

I agree with Harley about it probably being close, and the preference for specific "who will you vote for?" polling. There's probably some correlation between the more generic, open polling questions & the pollsters (NYT, for example) that keep going back to the same "undecided" people over and over again who, it almost invariably turns out, voted for Trump in both 16 and 20 and already plan to in 24.

I think there's some Trump voters unaccounted for in some of these polls. But, as Harley mentioned, the same is probably true for Harris. It's possible that those numbers are higher for Harris due to people not wanting retaliation, not wanting abusive husbands to know, etc.

And, remember, 2020 was a national margin of over 7 million votes. That was more than double the popular vote that Trump lost by in 16. But Biden didn't win the necessary electoral votes until the Saturday after the election.

I can only hope that people choose to just vote and not seek their perfect valentine this time around. But hope doesn't accomplish much so I've been more active this election than any since 2008. I think/fear it will be close and I really hope that Trump/Vance loses.
