Yeah, it's a Scott Walker situation. He doesn't have the juice and the few palatable positions he has are poison in a GOP primary.

I almost wonder if this Kanye West stuff isn't some sort of psyop to pawn off the hard right people and make Trump seem more reasonable to some of the moderates and independents he lost in the past six years.

I doubt that. Fuentes is essentially the new David Duke (except younger and again I doubt Trump knows who he is-probably just "oh he likes me" without looking into him, which is totally something he'd do) and Kanye is a mix of unchecked ego and mental health issues who'll probably be dead within the next few years. For Nick, this is both an opportunity to gain more exposure and spread his ideas, as well as something for his fans to salivate at. Either way, it's really fucked up on several levels.

Well, sure, and I mean Kanye was a complete non-factor in 2020 and has alienated whatever influential people he had still left then since so I'm not sure if he is that much of a political influence going forward.

So what's the point with these pretenders? They are scared to attack Trump for fear of angering his base, but the only way to gain any traction & hope to topple him is to take him head on, call him a loser/con man who is actively damaging the R party, and hope the base sees it the same way and then matriculates over to you. Spoiler alert, they won't, because they don't care about the R party, they're just wrapped up in the cult of personality and owning the libs. So anyone not named Ron DeSantis will be mired in single digit polling, damned if they do and damned if they don't.
