Maybe Tim Walz's next great moment will be to ask what little Donald did for his dad to give him that 400 million back in the day.

This goes back to something I've been perceiving. And before you say 'you live in California' that's when I say there are more Republicans in California than there are in any other state.

Trump fan visibility and enthusiasm is WAY DOWN. It's really noticeable this time around. And I spend a lot of time in every neighborhood. I've been at every high school in the area, so I don't think I'm missing anything. Today was the first time I saw anyone out in public wearing one of those stupid hats.

As a Mid-Tenn resident, I'm actually agreeing. I've seen less Trump stuff this year than I have since moving down here 4 years ago.

Silliest thing is this might have an actual impact.

Something "devastating" is coming out about Trump, apparently. Lol.

Glad to hear there is less signage in California and Tennessee. Unfortunately I think southern Ohio is like where Brody is at, there is still a lot of Trump signs and hats out and around.

I do think there is a lot of excitement for Harris here too. Much more than Hilary in 2016 and hard to tell versus Biden signs in 2020.

Guessing this Epstein sex assault thing won't have much effect on Trump.

At this point, I feel like the only thing that would be a big deal is if it turned out he had a terminal disease. Otherwise nothing is going to convince his fans otherwise.

They could have video of him saying "I am Donald Trump. You are a 13 year old girl. I am going to grab you by the pussy" and then him doing so and it wouldn't change a thing. People thinking this matters for the election have learned nothing from the last 9 years.

“The feeling I get from young men is, they’re just over it. They’re just over the lecturing, being told their issues don’t count as much,” Richard Reeves, a senior fellow at Brookings and the president of the American Institute for Boys and Men, told me. In recent weeks, Reeves has emerged as something of a guru on the erosion of young male support for Democrats.

Culturally, “We’ve replaced the idea of ‘original sin’ with the post-modern idea of toxic masculinity,” said Reeves.

Some may see justice in this after centuries of male domination. But while politics is often about justice, it’s also about feelings, and being heard, and sending messages. And that leads some men, inevitably, to Trump — the candidate who has made a career of portraying an exaggerated version of an alpha male: the man who refuses to curb his behavior to satisfy his critics.

Media person complains that Harris is campaigning too much, in too many places, with too large of crowds? Almost seems willful considering surrogates, former presidents etc, musicians, have been helping with campaigns for the entire history of the United States. Well into the 20th century, for example, nominees rarely campaigned themselves and relied on a combination of surrogates and potential voters traveling to meet them on their turf (the old "front porch campaigns"). Harris now and Clinton in 2016 are also not the only candidates to specifically use Springsteen at rallies. It also has to be willful on the media's part to report it as such. In 2004 John Kerry brought in Springsteen for a Madison rally that drew 80k and Tom Brokaw got beer spilled on him. Springsteen helped Obama in both 2008 and 2012. Clinton was attacked for not campaigning enough. It seems the media is upset about losing that talking point by Harris making multiple appearances in every battleground state.

Also, of course, Trump is literally a tabloid celebrity and nothing else.

Well it took until October 25th, but The Fear is setting in. I've had a cousin block me because she's MTG-level batshit crazy even! I really really hope my poll response here has a reverse effect and US voters actually do the right thing.

But I'm not optimistic.

The LA Times and Washington Post are among the major media outlets refusing to make an endorsement this year.

36,325,688 mail-in and early in-person votes cast nationally

42% Democrat, 40% Republican, and 18% Independent. I think the media (shocking!) are falsely equating Dem = Kamala and Repub = Trump in regards to the voting when it comes to the turnout numbers. There's a lot of Republican/Independent dislike towards Trump and remember that RFK Jr is going to siphon votes in several states in a "neither option is good" manner, which will be a bigger blow to Trump. I think the Democrats who'd vote for Trump are way less a factor than the Repubs that will vote for Kamala and the media is staying completely ignorant of that.
