I don't know how to do Twitter links but what the fuck is this "me and Mike Johnson have a little secret, we'll let you all know when the race is over" shit?

Something about the 12th amendment where if there is disupute or less than 270 electoral votes to the winner, that it goes to state congress (I believe) to decide. Which is currently 26 R controlled, 22 D controlled and 2 up for grabs this election.

Irony... "Danielle Christine Miller, 50, of Itasca County shared the same address as her mother, Rose Javorina, who died in August, according to a probable cause statement. The Itasca County Auditor's Office had mailed absentee ballots in September. Upon receiving Javorina's ballot, the office notified local law enforcement to investigate and verify the signatures.

"The Defendant admitted her deceased mother was an avid Donald Trump supporter and had wanted to vote for Trump in this election but had passed shortly before the absentee ballots were received," court documents say.

In Minnesota, casting an illegal vote or intentionally falsely signing an absentee ballot is punishable by five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both."

I'm really worried at this point. If everyone goes out and votes, we'll be ok but it feels like 2016 where a lot of disenchanted people are just gonna sit it out because "both candidates". I really hope I'm wrong but we're a week away and every poll I'm seeing shows it's neck and neck.

The whole stinkin' mess of a night lost it for him. They had a chance, with the biggest megaphone possible, to make themselves sound sane. They chose the opposite. I just hope it sticks and the former Haley voters do a run-in to save everyone from the heel in the end.

I'm still holding onto hope that the new registered voters, females, young people, Puerto Ricans, disenfranchised Republicans who are voting for Kamala instead, etc. is enough to make this more of a win for Kamala than the media has been expecting. I still believe in it being weird that Kamala was up so big mid-September in the polls to now Trump being tied or overtaking her in some national polls that it's either a ploy to paint the election as "stolen" from Trump ala 2020 or that the pollsters over-corrected to Trump's side to try and "balance" it all out for their numbers.

Same. While the national polls can be skewed by focusing heavily on red states, etc, the number of battleground state polls being so close and/or with trump leading is concerning. No matter what, there will still be privileged people who will vote for Jill Stein or whatever. But, as Harley noted, hopefully there will be enough in the other direction to sway it. Or the polls will prove wrong, like 2022, on a state level as well. Or a combination of all these things to get it right.

If we screw it up the consequences will be real and dire. Because of 2016 women lost their bodily autonomy. That will not miraculously improve in another maga admin; it will only get even worse, for even more people.

And a squeaker win could still have disastrous consequences. This loser lost by over 7 million votes last time and still attacked the US capitol and killed cops. I hope it will be an even bigger popular vote margin for Harris and over 300 electoral votes so people don't end, you know, literally dying.

you guys will be alright. There will be some hurtin’ if he wins, but you survived that last term.
America will survive but things will be far worse than his first term if he were to win. Trump wasn't able to implement a lot of what he wanted in his first term because the people in his cabinet and administration opposed him. He won't have those people this time. The Republican party is far more supportive of him. The SCOTUS has spent years eroding the laws to make it easier for him to do things. There's so many ways for him to make things worse right now.

I'll ask everyone to be patient on election night. Trump won Ohio and Florida right away in 2020 and everybody was ready to call it for him right then and there before Biden made a huge comeback. Same thing may happen this year.

Yeah, I don't expect anything good from Ohio. Hopefully the senate seat holds. That's all I can bring myself to hope for there at this point.

I'm glad I have workshop on Tuesdays. That'll keep me occupied until 9 or so. I don't expect anything meaningful to happen until well after then.

I was gonna do some bar trivia Tuesday night but I'm gonna be too distracted and will spare my team from me checking my phone ever 5 minutes.

Harris drew 20k more tonight to the same place Trump rallied the privileged loser insurrection on Jan 6.

And the MSG nazi rally might be having an impact on the GOP.

I'm going to be at work election night, but I'm genuinely considering doing something after for the sake of a "where were you" story because c'mon.

It is all too commonplace. Anybody whining about that ad are the kinds of people who are cool with another trump presidency because they're certain in their privilege they won't be attacked next.

I've seen it every time I've done any campaign work. This year was the worst.

I haven’t seen it but if he didn’t do a lazy “we’re not going back” sound bite for it, why even bother.
