Good thing another maga admin putting more of these types on the supreme court won't cause any damage or anything.

I've posted this guy (David Roth) before, but this article is a good read, and I feel this statement basically describes the man, his followers and the people surrounding him
What binds all these people to Trump has always been the desire to hurt people and get away with it in the way that he always has; they believe that they'll be able to do that so long as they stay behind him. A whole vile worldview and way of life depends upon that being true.
It also makes a good point that all of these guys (especially those working for him and speaking at his rallies) need him around: they haven't replaced him. I'd argue that as of now, I doubt anyone ever could. There's only one Trump. I see people say "well, wait until someone with the same politics (or not, since the man doesn't have any beyond whatever he heard on cable news) but is smarter comes around" and I think "yeah, but that person won't be him". His fans only like him and nothing else. As of now-Hell, probably for a long time-they can't replicate the man.

One thing that does amuse me-no matter who wins the election, Trump will be unhappy. Deep down he hates this, and if he had it his way he'd just be on Twitter or Truth Social or whatever making catty remarks and not having any worries. Besides, he's not going to be president for very long if he does win, though that will give us JD Vance as president, which actually scares me more.

Holy shit, before the photo op part, he struggled not just to get into the dump truck but with the door handle. He could not grasp it and then almost fell down. And the media will not cover it because he brings them ratings.

The perfect follow up to Brody's post...

"With two days left in the record-breaking early voting period, nearly half of all active voters have already gone to the polls. According to the Georgia Secretary of State, nearly 3.5 million Georgians have cast their votes - 48.1% of the state's registered voters."

"Republicans have pointed to heavy turnout in rural areas - especially the northern part of Georgia - which should be strongholds for Donald Trump. They also pointed to some counties with higher numbers of African-American voters - such as Bibb, Chatham, and Clayton - that seem to be under-performing.

Democrats counter that women, who polls say favor Vice President Kamala Harris, make up nearly 56% of the early vote."

Maybe it's just me (it's happened before), but the media sure seems to be covering the dump truck photo op heavily and favorably, and largely ignoring Trump's struggle with opening the door/walking/getting into the truck. And it sure does seem like, as with the elder health stuff, there seems to be a heavy dose of reporting on Biden (who is not a candidate) saying "garbage."

Why the fuck is it this close?
Half the country has a different worldview than you.
Be it via education level, social economic class, cultural upbringing, etc (Most Americans are really dumb - there's a reason Walmart is the nation's top employer by a mile)

Plus the D's can't message well. It's hard to sell yourself as having not sunk inflationary wise as bad as other first world countries. People just feel the pinch and will blame those in power, not corporate greed.
The border feels like a self created issue, even if the migrants aren't the army of terrorists 10,000 political ads are saying they are.
They also tried to run an 80 year old man instead of finding someone dynamic on the bench. I'm surprised myself that Trump's promo/whining hasn't gotten stale for his base after a decade. He does help them justify not liking brown people though, so there's that.

I'm sticking with a lot of the polling is part of the next "Stop the steal" grift and Kamala probably squeaks out a W.

Some people are dumb and worship tabloid celebrities. Some people are broken and hateful. Some people think that voting for Jill Stein will end the atrocities in Gaza, etc. Some people think their friends and families are representative of the overall media on every major network, etc. Some Christians despise Christ. Some people spend a lot of time on the internet and it's cooked their brains (and hearts). Some people, maybe willfully, believe people who lie to them.

There's legit reasons to not want to vote for the Dems like the failure to address inflation etc. Without even getting into how obvious it is that Trump's policies will be 100x worse for inflation and the economy it's obvious that for the overwhelming majority of R voters it isn't really about the Economy.

We've seen time and again what it is really about. The MSG rally is what it's about. Denying women's rights is what it's about. The non-fascists who go along with the baggage are in many ways just as bad because they see what is happening and turn a blind eye. They're willing to put up with it so long as he accomplishes their goals.

Last night Trump told Tucker, at a public event, that Liz Cheney should be killed.
