AEW in June 2024: For a door that’s forbidden, they sure do open it a lot.

Matt's presence in Stadium Stampede is better than all of those both in terms of status and influence. Neither of them has had a good singles match in at least ten years. The Jeff/Darby matches were alright but I found them pretty depressing considering what Jeff used to be. It was like watching 2023 Lita. Matt's fucked up but he busted his spine-pelvis more than he needed to. It was never GOOD, of course, but he worked hard.

Jeff for SURE has had some really good to great singles matches in the last 10 years IMO. The HIAC match with Orton with the ear torture was great. He also had a great match with Bryan in that rough time period. It was a triple threat match, but Jeff Vs AJ vs Sami was great. and the aforementioned Darby match.

The main thing I remember Matt contributing in Stadium Stampede was the drowning in the arena pool which was right after Shad Gaspard's death, which had me wtfing.

I don't think either guys work ethic is the issue. It's just a preference thing.

I'll push back on Paul Wight. He's probably overpaid relative to what it should cost someone to do commentary. But he always felt fun.

I’d say same thing about Mark Henry. Until he turned sour on the company, he was a solid goodwill ambassador. He had a fun catchphrase that was one of the only memorable things about Rampage.

I hope Buddy is ok but when Christian threw the painting Killswitch gave him away on top of him I legit laughed out loud.

This is not a knock on Daniels but it's a real shame that the on-air authority figure trope has made its way onto AEW even if it's a short term thing to combat the Elite.

I absolutely hate it. It’s exactly the kind of thing that made me start actively seeking out alternatives to WWE.

Exactly. And it's being done in an especially insulting way. This whole Bucks thing is.

Best episode of Dynamite in a long, long time. Everything clicked. Even the Young Bucks didn’t bother me because they were limited to just being traditional shit head heels in a wrestling match and the extent of the evil authority figure stuff this week was Okada screwing with the Acclaimed’s entrance (quick, inoffensive nonsense …..bitch!)

The Ospreay-Swerve segment did a great job of selling the Forbidden Door match, although I kinda wonder if Swerve might be on borrowed time as champ already because that Ospreay-MJF staredown later in the show felt a lot like a tease of a potential All In main event in the same way the Hogan-Warrior showdown in the Rumble was a teaser for WrestleMania 6.

MJF isn’t in the Owen Hart tournament, and wild card is obviously Hangman, so it can’t be that.

Without the Bucks on the show we don't hear how they are coming to the ring "wearing comfortable colorful clothing".

They need to sign Mina Shirakawa, like, yesterday.

Jericho stuff has been hit or miss, and I've been wanting to like this gimmick. But love how he's referring to his fans/followers as "The Branches".

Okada is undefeated on TV, holds gold, is with the company's top heel group and gets a big reaction from the crowd everytime he's on the mic. How does anyone think he's been used incorrectly?

Some people just want him to be a great worker doing epic mains and not a comedy sidekick for the tedious Bucks routine.

I’m okay with it because well, who cares he literally only came there to get a bag and be with his dork friends so he’s fulfilling his agenda.

He has taken the title from MJF for worst t shirt (non Britt baker division) as well so he’s having a grand time.
