Concerts coming to your area: Good and Bad

Understood. I saw the Presidents of the United States of America last summer because I felt I owed it to my 16-year-old self.

Well. I bought tickets to see Van Halen in July. Even though they've lost a few steps (and Michael Anthony), I really can't pass up a chance to see these guys live. They're probably never coming to Maine again.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band is opening, continuing the streak of random openers Van Halen's had since reuniting with DLR.

Contemplating attending a Mets/Dodgers game in July since Heart will be performing a free concert afterwards. Tickets are pretty cheap so I think it'll be worth it to hear "Barracuda".

Misery Index is hitting Worcester on the first weekend of May. Considering I was lukewarm toward them until seeing them live and they have since become my favorite current act I am going to be there.

Kamelot and Dragonforce are coming to Atlanta in November. I know Dragonforce is "lame" and all, but I'm looking forward to seeing Kamelot for the 4th time!

Bought tickets for The Gaslight Anthem in July. Show is two hours away, but they're so good live that it's worth it.

My friend's brother for some reason is deadset on going to see Britney Spears in Vegas. My buddy text me today to see if I wanted to go. My friend is going to drive and cover the ride and room. His brother has offered to buy our tickets. So it sounds like I am going to do a "free" turnaround Vegas trip to see Britney (bitch) in a couple weeks.

Going to see Billy Idol in June and The Beach Boys in August on the Maine State Pier. Yes, I am 55 years old.

Also the Maine State Pier's having Pat Benatar for its first concert of the season tonight. Was contemplating going when Groupon had GA/lawn seats for $15 but then I realized it'd probably be 40 degrees during the show and realized why they were trying to peddle tickets for $15. Why the eff would someone open up outdoor concert season in Maine in the first weekend of May?

Saw Trail of Dead last week. Hadn't seen them perform in almost a decade and glad to see they are still great live.

Which club Mike?

Ace of Spades, this Sunday. Two days earlier Mickey Avalon & Dirty Nasty.

Dokken on May 30th.....worth it just to hear Dream Warriors live?

Ace of Spades, you say? I'll investigate further. Short walk, and dude Dokken. I'd say worth it, just on principle.

Yeah. You live in Sacramento? Do I know you?

I'm in midtown, at least for the time being, and I don't think so. Very possible, I guess. City's deceptively small sometimes.

The Roots are doing a free show in Toronto in July as part of the Pan-Am Games concert series. Sweeeeet.

I'm seeing more concerts than I have in a while this summer to overcompensate for the fact that I haven't hit up many concerts the past few summers. I'm seeing Billy Idol & Turquoise Jeep in June (unfortunately not on the same bill). Think I might see Brian Wilson & Al Jardine in July at Harbor Lights in Boston. Seeing Van Halen in July at the Bangor Waterfront. Bought tickets to see the first ever Portland Lights Festival ( headlined by Guster, Dr. Dog, and Augustana) in August...very random 2007 lineup there. Still have a lot of nostalgic love for Guster (who I think are the Patriots Day of '90s/early '00s alt rock bands. Only celebrated in Maine & Massachusetts). Also Mike Love's Beach Boys a few days after the Portland Lights Festival.

Also considering seeing Scorpions/Queensryche at Harbor Lights in Boston in September. 8)

I'm seeing Florida Georgia Line tonight in Atlantic City.

Can't wait to see all the hot New Jersey country girls.

Ahh ok. You could probably walk to Ace of Spades.

Me and my buddy are gonna see Toto in Lynn, Massachusetts in August. No idea when Toto got the street credit to play in Lynn. Must be from being the backing band on so many Michael Jackson tracks.

Anthrax and Motorhead are touring together and coming here in September. So tempting but I already blew a lot of money on shows this summer. I'm hoping I can make it.

Motörhead are more than worth it, man. You don't know how long Lemmy's going to be kicking around.

In other news, I'm going to see AWOLNATION tonight.

Where are they playing? I'd be interested just for Motorhead. I like Anthrax, but I love Motorhead.
