Yeah...I think we finally got a contender to dethrone that post WM1 spot show in Stoughton, MA for worst house show lineup that I've ever seen. The Glamour Girls EXPLODE should've been main event tbh

I'm sorry I can't watch a 2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus Alexander Bagwell match without thinking of the shoot interview that Scorpio where he talked about him and Bagwell boning rats in the same hotel room and laughing about how Buff was a short dick, one pump chump. I have no idea where Ice Train was during all of this or whether or not Ron Simmons held anyone's hand during coitus. Sorry @The Art of Postin' . You're welcome @BruiserBrody , @Laz might enjoy the fact that there was a Brainscan trailer in the video posted above.

IS THAT *THE* KLONDIKE BILL??? @BruiserBrody
This was one of my favorite little subtle things that were never actually expanded on by the announcers and consequently I believe a lot of fans missed. These segments were building to something and if I remember correctly there was never a payoff. Bischoff had to put up the ring in this segment and he brought his own wrench to tighten the ring ropes, which was specifically shown. He had a blue wrench and it was not one of the tools that Bill and the ring crew had. He would be shown leaving it by the steps and it was later used by the heel at the end of the show to hit his opponent with. There would be a few other segments where Bischoff was shown being punished and humiliated with this work but something he did made it easier for a heel to do something later. It didn’t seem to get even a “Wait a minute!” from the announcers.

Edit: I stand corrected. I just found the full clip that included Nash using the wrench at the end of the night on The Giant. The announcers called it out as being the blue-handled wrench that Bischoff had earlier. So this segment was definitely not glossed over. Perhaps I am misremembering the entire thing or other segments had the announcers not call out the coincidences of what Bischoff was doing.

You can actually see Buff's dick on a 2014 episode of Showtime's reality series Gigolos. IIRC he lasted more than two pumps with the cougar he was banging but it's been a long time since I saw it.

Nash/Giant had a match on Nitro (Giant's last match before going to WWE, I believe) where Nash hit him with the wrench Bischoff used to set the ring up. I don't remember there being other instances where Eric aided heels during this time period.

I actually watched that. Him and the three other gigolos were running a train on a cougar and Buff was third in the rotation. No way to treat a five time WCW World Tag Team Champion but I guess he was the newest gigolo so it could've been worse.

Yeah, I added that above as an edit possibly while you were making your reply post or just before.

The 1999 Souled Out PPV was in Charleston, WV and I was there live. I believe he did something there behind the scenes that assisted as well. There were two, possibly three things before and after he got his head shaved after David Flair hit him with a roll of quarters. It was all while Flair had control for 90 days but Bischoff found several ways to still pull some strings.

Ron Simmons sticking with Ice Train as a mentor/tag partner in late 93 into 1994 instead of doing the feud that went nowhere might have been a real good thing, Simmons has that Norton-ish power stuff with a lot more athletic ability to boot.
The long play would probably be Simmons turning Train to the darkside, but then we have 2 black heel teams and wrestling physics says NO to that.

Edit - Dotel boner thinking about Simmons/Train vs Nasties.

I feel like it is just NOW possible for there to be two black heel teams but I'm wracking my brain to think of anyone besides ROH who has actually done it. Man, wrestling can be racist sometimes.

Edit- RAW has Commander Azeez & Apollo Crews and The Hurt Business but I feel like secondary WWE tag teams are just a smidge important than ROH.

So the Mark Guthrie shown above had exactly one match in WCW. A loss to Fit Finlay. BY DQ.

Finlay beats the shit out of him until Mike Enos makes the save for some reason. I guess they were feuding? I have no memory of it.

I remember during Mike Enos' last year in the company, he got a mild B/C show push as a badass tough guy. Probably peaking either when he wrestled Benoit at Souled Out '99 or made the semi-finals of the WCW World Tag Team title tournament with Bobby Duncum Jr (was Wayne Bloom unable to get time off of Target that week?). I kind of get it since it seems like he was kind of a badass IRL but I think it was way too late in the game to disassociate him from The Beverly Brothers.

In fact, Mike Enos' Cagematch profile isn't listed under his name. It's listed under Blake Beverly!

SOME of us remembered him crippling Brad Rheinghans, chasing Ken Patera out of the AWA after a Doomsday Device and ending Wahoo McDaniel's career*!!

- Was Bloom/Enos in WCW before Rough and Ready w/Slater and Enos?

Rough N Ready predated the Minnesota Wrecking Crew/Beverly Brothers C & D show reunion. Cagematch says that Wayne Bloom didn't work regularly for WCW until 1998 (although he had a pair of tryout matches in the Fall/Summer of '97) when Dick Slater was long gone. I remember Wayne Bloom's WCW run lasting a lot longer than it did. It was only three and a half months (January to May '98). I guess he had better things to do than work WCW C/D shows.

In the process of looking up Wayne Bloom's Cagematch, I found this '97 Minnesota indy card.
That Wayne Bloom/Ken Patera and JW Storm/Nailz double main event would inspire some @BruiserBrody heavy breathing. I can't even imagine how bad a 1997 Ken Patera match would be.

Crazy young and more flippy Finlay could've had a match with peak Patera if the dates I'm seeing are right. Patera should've just ducked his charges and gone to the UK for my wrestling interests.

I'm kind of surprised that Ken Patera didn't go to WCW at some point in '89/'90 when George Scott then Ole Anderson kept bringing in old farts that no one was really interested (@BruiserBrody headslap) to fill out the midcard.

He probably preferred to make a little less in the AWA and stay near home after his WWF comeback flopped hard than get that Turner money.

Patera and Reheingans would've been a nice lower/midcard team in WCW. The legit guys who'd be gatekeepers.

In theory, I feel like if he went to WCW as a heel, he could have been an good opponent of the month type feud for Sting and Lex Luger. Then I remember that I'm thinking of 1982 Ken Patera and he would have been absolutely ass in WCW in '89/'90 so it's better off he returned to AWA to star in feuds only Brod remembers.
