Howard Stern being concerned about Richard Simmons well being and not bullying him is like the Tom & Jerry episodes where they get along.

Also should I start a radio talk thread? Howard hasn’t been on late night television in 20+ years!

Is this update in response to Simmons' statement a month ago about Stern? I really don't want to get modern Stern in my algorithm.

Doing my deep dive into WEW on Cagematch, I found that they had a PPV called Celebrity Ho-Down in 2005. What type of celebrities did they get to show up? Well, it’s celebrity not plural and they got BENJY BRONK!

Number of people who’d order a softcore porno PPV based on a tertiary (male) Stern staffer wrestling has to be in the single digits. Low single digits too.

My late uncle who pirated PPVs used to watch these shows. I wonder if he got to see The Smoke and Benjy get their comeuppance.
 
Benjy is the only one who would get wrestling though.
 
Damn, he was a staple on 92.3 KRQ as well (with CANE!). Last I heard about him, he got into a lot of tax trouble. Hope it was resolved prior to this death!
 
Filming the porn in the Stern studio behind his back starring Ron Jeremy is an underrated saga. Him comparing himself to Spielberg always kills me.
 
He had the Stuttering John fight and the Angry Black fight, both of which he lost. I don't know if he did anything outside of the Stern universe of freaks.

He's also why I know what a DD214 is.

At Midnight is cancelled. Sounded like it was mutual and Taylor was gonna leave anyway and focus more on her standup. She's cute as hell, only like 30 or 31, and one of the better standups today imo, so she'll be fine. If she had to choose between hosting a talk show in 2025 or continuing her promising standup career, it was an easy choice to leave After Midnight.

I never heard Howard on the radio. I'd imagine maybe Milwaukee would have carried him. I did know of all his infamy, read his books, etc I definitely caught him on the talk shows when I could.

This first segment with Jay was hilarious. I'll have to try and find the episode with Jay where he spanked a woman on air to see how that played out in modern eyes.

I haven't read his books since the 90s but I don't recall "Fartman" the movie ever being even plugged so I was taken aback by Stern plugging it in segment 2. Obviously it died in production hell, so I'm kind of surprised Howard promoted it.

Howard shits on Arsenio Hall, and a clip of him and Hall are right next to this video, so a rabbit hole has been created....
