We tried playing it the other night. I honestly have no clue WTF happened. He went for it on a 4th down and I stopped him, although he said earlier in the thread that it didn't show 4th down for him. It did for me though, so I don't know what happened there. Then I got the ball, picked my play but then it was like, stuck in a cutscene between the play call screen and the actual play happening. I tried calling a timeout, pressing start, etc. Nothing really worked. Then it said that Chris left the session, so it must have been something with one of our connections. I've never seen that before. He went offline after that and I haven't seen him online in a couple of days.

I went for a running play on 3rd down, with Lewis, he fumbled, then everyone jumped on the ball and it stayed on that for about 5 mins, so I turned it off.

Also, I'm thinking this upcoming schedule week will last 5 days instead of 7. I just wanted to give the SI guys time to get their copies, which is why this week was/is so long.

Yeah, I basically won because Antoine Winfield had two INT's returned for TD's and Percy Harvin had a kickoff return for a TD. I couldn't get much going on offense, although the running game did OK (Peterson had 15 carries for 105 yards), but those INT's really did Chris in. I couldn't keep him off the field in the first half (I didn't take an offensive snap until there were 2 minutes left in the half), but just picked off a couple of passes when he got deep in my territory. I didn't realize you guys started this before Brett Favre and Mike Vick were added to the game.. so I'm stuck with Sage Rosenfels and Tavaris Jackson. Oh help me Jesus. Drafting a QB is #1 priority in the offseason.

Yeah, I didn't know about Favre coming back yet (I did know about Vick) when I created this league. Sorry. Believe me, I'd love for you to have him so I can try to injure him. But it looks like I'll have, to say the least, a good challenge in my two games vs. Minnesota.

I'm not sure if you all have to "ready up" or not (I hope you did), but I'm going to advance the schedule if it allows me to do so. I'll go do that now.

EDIT: Week 2 has begun! We're going to try 5 days this week, which means you should all finish your games by 11:59 P.M. Pacific time on Tuesday, September 1st. If this works and people want to play more often, we may decrease the length of the next week, or we may keep it at 5 days.

Vikings kick off week 2 by smacking around the hapless Lions, 49-17. Defense and special teams led the way again. I went up 14-0 in the first 15 seconds of the game. Ben Leber picked off Matt Stafford's first pass on the first play of the game and took it to the house, then forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff that Jasper Brinkley scooped up and returned for a TD. Lions abandoned the run game after that. Stafford threw 3 picks. Sage Rosenfels was 13-of-18 for 234 yards, 3 TD and an INT and Adrian Peterson ran for 115 yards and a TD on 14 attempts. Bernard Berrian had 6 catches for 139 yards and 2 TD. He caught two long bombs from Rosenfels, who surprisingly has a decent arm.

The Patriots bounce back from a Week 1 downer by beating the Jets 30-16. I picked off Sanchez twice and Brady hooked up with Joey Galloway and Fred Taylor (who also had a rushing TD) for long TD strikes en route to going 14-20 for 281 yards. A weird thing on that second pick. I thought I caught it in the end zone and ran out for the touchback, but I guess I caught it on the 1 because the Jets got a safety.

I think the time limit should be done on a week by week basis. More human vs human games there are, the longer the time limit should be.

40-32, Houston.

Houston had a 28-13 lead at half..but like always, decided to get an early start on resting for week three and let the Titans hang 16 in the third quarter.

Schaub had 199yds passing with a few ints while both Slaton and Edge scored rushing TDs. Slaton also ended the game with 100+ yds both catching and rushing.

Oh, I'm willing to give up Schaub or see if I can work a trade to a CPU team for someone who isn't prone to throwing debilitating pick 6s.

Steelers over Bears. 24-14. The Bears absolutely tore me apart in the 4th quarter after scoring quick and getting an onside kick. They ran out of time at the 5 yard line or so. This is why I kept the ball away the entire game. Time of Possession ended up being 12:58 to 7:02...but they had it for nearly 4 minutes in the 4th quarter.

Roethlisberger ended up 5-6 for 49 yards...and if he wants more he has to stop missing wide open targets for INTs.
Parker had 32 carries for 121 yards and 2 TDs.
William GAY had a pick 6

Good guys survive another week.

SERIOUSLY. This game was incredible and I can't wait for the rematch.

Let it be known all 3 of my touchdowns were hard-earned, very well-executed drives. I went up 7-0 after stopping Agent and ripping him apart with Hasselbeck, Burleson, and Harrison. Then he comes right back at me with a kickoff return for a TD. Major gaffe #1. We trade scores again, 14 all at halftime, then I go up on him 21-17 after we trade scores again. 2:30 left to play, and I'm trying to play grindball and all of a sudden my fuckin' fullback fumbles the ball on like 2nd and 3 and then FIGHT FOR THE FUMBLE comes up which, of course, I lose (Major Gaffe #2) and then leads to his game winning drive.

I think I need to run the ball more often in general, but this game was VERY tight. Defense held on really well until it was like 3rd and goal with 8 seconds left, where he hit the aforementioned touchdown to Josh Morgan. Tossed a garbage interception on a hail mary to end it. Again hell of a game, but I totally shit the bed in it. No more human opponents until Week 8, I think! Maybe I can compile a big winning streak.

Also, watch out for Agent Bond's return skillz. He's pretty darn good.

I learned that I am half as good as Broward when he takes the foot off the pedal. I threw 2 pick 6s in the first 2 minutes. The first was a nice play by the defense...the second was a result of me being angry at the QB and making him throw the same pass again...this time into double coverage.

It was nice to see that the game has the Bills defense accurate to real life...it certainly looked like a Bills game.

Random nice play by a running back? Check.
Return for a TD when it doesn't matter anymore? Check.
Big minus on turnovers? Check.

This just reminded me that I have to watch another season of Bills football this year.

Eh, it wasn't taking my foot off the pedal as much as it was simply running zone and blitz schemes that left a few of my less than stellar DB's on an island against WR's that could torch them.

I wanted to run the ball a lot more in that game than I wound up doing so mainly due to Stroud's plays and my O-line simply not caring for Slaton that game and forcing him to play a role as 5th or 6th WR for the majority of it.

I do need to go in to the depth chart and either slide Casey up the WR chart or have him as 2nd TE because Hill wasn't coming off of the line fast enough for me to dump it to him when my line caved in on nearly every other down.

The rematch is at your place the next time. I can't wait either, because I know it'll be a good game. Your pass game was tearing me up. I kept trying to figure out which guy to spotlight and which part of the field to play zone in. I'd spotlight Houshmandzadeh, then you'd go to Burleson or even Marvin Harrison. Good job of mixing it up.

Plus, your pressure was putting Shaun Hill on his ass, which was well done on your part.
My return game was giving me some damn good field position to begin drives. That helped out a lot because I'd be starting drives near the 40.

My final drive though, I thought was good stuff, because I got the ball with, what, 1:49 left on the clock, I think it was? Then drove down and put the ball in the end zone with 8 seconds left (as mentioned) and basically played Prevent from there. I even left a timeout on the board.

I also need to run the ball more myself, because if I have an all-pro RB, so he definitely needs more carries as the season goes on.

The number of dropped INTs on this game is really frustrating too.
