It's better on PC, mainly because they won't charge for the new update that's due whenever Valve finishes it.

Unrelated question: how easy/difficult is it to mod a 360 & burn games for it? It occurs to me that once I gave up XBL I started playing my PS3 more, and then I stopped playing 360 entirely...the console's got enough exclusives to keep me from outright selling it, but the cheapskate in me insists that I'd be better off modding it & burning the handful of games rather than paying full price for them only to dump them on Glyde at a discount a few months later.

Its VERY simple to do. The hardest process is the actual flashing of the Xbox dvd drive, as you need to purchase (depending on your PC) the following.

1) have a VIA 6421 Sata card to connect the DVD drive
2) A CK3 blaster (this enables you to get the dvd drive to write firmware)

Thats the basics, depending on your DVD drive, you may require other hardware. If you want a basic idea, remove the faceplate of the 360, and tell me what colour wire is visable through the hole beside the memory card ports.

I am enjoying the hell out of playing the original Final Fight on Xbox. You all should get it if you like beat'em ups from the late eighties. I kind of realized from playing it that SNES version was a lot hard than the arcade version.

I love side scrolling beat 'me ups, but I remember a lot of games being much better than Final Fight. Guess I'll try the demo.

I never got into Street of Rage because I never owned a Genesis. I do own like 50 Sega compilations and some of them have Streets of Rage.

There's a report on Gamespot.com that Microsoft might announce adding Hulu to Xbox Live during Microsoft's E3 conference. If true, might be pretty awesome but supposely it also might have a monthly fee which would suck but I can't see why Hulu on XBL would require a fee when Hulu is free in general and things like Netflix and the Zune player are free as well.

Netflix requires a netflix subscription. But since hulu is free I don't know why they think people would pay for it

Pretty sure I've heard that Hulu has been planning to go to some kind of a pay system for awhile now, so I would assume Hulu on x-box would be reflective of that.

Sabre, and please realize this is really a knock on me, but between this thread and the Random Thoughts thread (and maybe others in the VG area), I never understand a damn thing you're saying. This one I get though.

Moving on, I made an odd / annoying discovery today: For reasons I don't know, my Xbox 360 refuses to play DVDs of the hit Canadian series, Corner Gas. The DVDs work elsewhere so they are not the problem. The 360 just boots it up, then it stays on a black screen forever. Maybe some weird Canadian encoding problem, I don't know. I put in other DVDs and they worked fine.

Ah, the R4 card business. To sum it up, we pirate DS games which has a built in action replay, i was trying to detail what cheat database to use.

You don't need any of this. for the vast majority of people, they need a computer...thats about it.

So the Kinetic is fucking $149.99. That's way to damn expensive and knowing Microsoft it'll stay at the price for a couple of years unless it sells like shit but we'll see.

I still don't think they've officially announced the price, even if it is Microsoft's online store. They really should, though. Even if it doesn't end up being $150, a lot of people are going to think it is now.

So I've noticed that the new 360slim advertises that it has a port specifically for the Kinect. Is that just so you don't need to use a USB port, or is the kinect actually not going to be compatible with the old 360's? Because that would be insanely stupid.

The special port on the Slim/S model is supposed to power the Kinect system. And possibly transmit the data and whatnot. Kinect will work on any 360, but on the older ones, you'll have to plug it in separately to power it, and use a USB port.

I think my 360 is broken again, but not the usual RROD way this time. For some reason none of my controllers can connect to it. They all just flash all 4 green lights when i turn them on. I tried changing the battery pack and nothing happened, tried changing to regular batteries and nothing happened, tried syncing a bunch of times and nothing happened, tried other controllers and got nothing. I'm pretty sure the problem is on the console side rather than with every controller/battery combination.

Did you try connecting any of them to the x-box with a cable?

Kinect had better work a hell of a lot better than it did at E3 if they want it to be worth $150.
