The arcade used to come with a memory card. It now includes 512MB of internal memory.

512Mb of internal memory? That seems odd, but that works too. As long as the Arcade gives you some kind of kind of save ability.

I typed it MB; you typed it Mb. Is MB megabytes, and Mb megabits?

I think it's pretty much only in there so that you can save a profile/Gamertag.

I typod. Technically yes B is bytes and b is bits. I ONLY know that from taking a networking class. Hence why the cable company might tell you that you get 4mbps but your downloads max out at 500kBps

For what it's worth, I bought the wireless adapter for the original Xbox off Amazon for like half of what the 360 version costs, and it works with the 360 perfectly well. I might have had to download a driver update or something, but I was up and running in no time.

Meh, given what the new Elites don't come with, buying the Pro isn't all that bad a move. Only thing you're not getting is a 120GB HDD and the system being black.

Still getting the Composite/Component cables..still getting fucked like a bitch with the no WiFi...

I don't get the big thing about Wi-Fi anyway, at least as it pertains to gaming. It worked for the DS (not sure about the Wii, since I have an ethernet connection) but any time I play someone who's wireless on the 360, there's a veritable fuck ton of lag.

You know what I really hate about this generation and surely after future ones of consoles? With the operating system comes the lack of 3rd party devices, specifically Action Replay type one. Yeah you need to be able to keep people from using them online absolutely, but if I don't want to waste 60 hours level grinding on some RPG that sucks to begin with, why should I not be able to cheat and level up? Or if I'm playing a GOOD game for the 17th time, why should I have to do the grinding yet again? C'MON MAN.

Namco's RPG's let you pay real money for level ups and skills, recipes, or what have you. That's the new gaming economy.

That's pretty bad, but locking away the majority of the content in Beautiful Katamari and making you pay for the rest of the game on the disc is worse. It's not even bonus stuff or features, it's just the meat and potatoes game.

Now i've got a job again, I am going to pick up a 360. The Elite package has dropped down to £200 here, and a few package deals for the same price include two games. Now, are all 360's backward compatible? Also, apart from the fact you have to pay, what differences are there online than the PS3 online has?

The difference- everything's better. Most games run better on the 360; the system comes with a headset so you don't have to deal with people not talking/not being able to talk in team based games; you can chat with and message people regardless of whether they're playing the same game as you or not... Also, all 360's are backward compatible, but not every original Xbox game is playable on the 360.

No, you have to either go online and get a download to make it work, or order a free disc from Microsoft. The reason for this is they used to add news games that were compatible every quarter or so, because the BC is a software fix and not hardware, so they have to code each game individually to run on the 360.

Ah, thanks Smues. I take it its very easy to find. I'm looking forward to the whole 1 vs 100 thing, even if I have missed the start by a mile. Do you guys still play that?

Yeah, if you're connected to the net you can just put it whatever game you want to play and if you don't have the file already it'll automatically go get it. There's a list out there somewhere of which games are compatible.

So I've been trying to play Oblivion on my 360 and it keeps freezing in the same places. I've even tried another copy of the game and it still keeps freezing in the same places. What gives?

Oblivion is notorious for killing 360s, what kind of freeze are you getting? If it involves some pixelated colours etc look forward to a RROD.

No, no pixelated colors. Is there anything I can do?

Try installing the game to the HD it usually eliminates most freezing problems due to the game not being read from the disk.

Just in case it's not obvious to you how to install a game to the hard drive (I know I had some trouble finding it) go to the Xbox dashboard with the game inserted into the Xbox. If it goes straight to the game, push the "Xbox Guide" BUTTon (the big X in the middle) and press Y to go back to the dashboard, then navigate to the "My Xbox" part of the navigation menu, where it says "Play Elder Scrolls IV" you push Y for "Game Details", and there you'll see the option to install it to the hard drive. Unless you have a whole bunch of stuff like demos and videos and whatnot on the hard drive, you should have enough room to install it on the standard 20GB hard drive.

Civilization Revolution is the first game on Games on Demand that is actually reasonably priced.

How much? That's an excellent game, by the way.

$30

Which is roughly what you can find it for in stores.

And it's totally worth that price.

What do you guys know about modding systems? I thought Microsoft could easily ban modders, but it turns out that that couldn't be further from the truth. I'm really tempted after seeing my friend get The Beatles: Rock Band, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Guitar Hero 5 for a grand total of $30, but I'm worried about possible banishment. Also, I have a collector's mentality and really like to have the actual discs and cases and such.
