My 360 just got the Red Ring of Death tonight. Only 3 red rings, but now I have to send it to Microsoft. Total bummer.

3 red lights is the bad one. I think 4 means that it's just an A/V cord not hooked in right.

I got Ninja Turtles and I like it. I wish they would have based the game off the SNES version but I think UBISOFT did a good job.

Does "Pizza Power" play during the title screen? That song is about 2/3rds of what I want from that game.

I'm not sure what your asking. Is the Ninja Turtles theme or does one of the turles say it?

He's asking about the song that played during the arcade opening. The answer is no, it's been replaced by the new Ubisoft soundtrack. The new "animated comic book-ish" intro is cool though.

I downloaded a bunch of demos last night. I've gotten by with a 20 gig harddrive for three years, but I'll have to upgrade soon to accommodate the games I want to get.

A Kingdom for Keflings: Age of Empires without any thrill or consequences, but the fingerpicking guitar soundtrack and avatar play are almost enough to make me get this. C/C+

Magic the Gathering - Duel of the Planeswalkers: Pretty much a gimme, since I love magic and have no friends who play. The demo is shallow, with only two decks available, but it teases just how much the full game can do. A-

Castle Crashers: As good as everyone says it is. A really, simple fun game with a perfect blend of simplicity and depth. You can play it as a straight button masher, or you can learn all the combos and lay waste to everything. the Super Nintendo to Alien Hominid's NES. A+

Watchmen: Still downloading. Incomplete.

Although I'm a bit curious as to what a "massively single player roleplaying game is" exactly...

Sounds like the .Hack series where the game took place in an MMPORPG but was in fact a single player game.

Wll my 360 gave me error message "E73" and died on my last night with one flashing red light.
It's not the 3 red rings of death, just one.
So guess what? Not covered under the 3 year warranty. I had to give those assholes 108 bucks to fix it.

E73: General Hardware Error: Ethernet port... this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet port.

Remove the A/V cord from the back of the XBox 360. Stick two sticks into the fans to prevent them from spinning. This will cause the system to overheat within five minutes. You will know its done when the first and third quadrants light up red on the system (indicating the system has overheated). Unplug the system, plug it back in and turn it on to see if it was successful. (Note: While this method does not void your warranty, if your XBox is still under warranty I suggest sending to Microsoft to fix.)

Might be worth a try if you don't want to pay to have it fixed, just don't break the fan.

I downloaded the Dashboard update and kind of tooled around in it a little bit. Nothing Earth-shattering aside from the Netflix update; being able to browse through some of the movies and add them from the console is incredibly convenient. It isn't the entire library, but it's nice if I don't feel like going over to the computer. The Games On Demand service might get a little use from me once I buy a bigger HDD.

*sigh* i really dont know what the 360s problem is, but it is refusing to install one of my games due to a "disk is dirty plz clean" error. The disk is fine and loads up perfect if i just run it from the disk.

If you didn't know already, speaking of installing games, the size of the installed games shrinks after the update. Make sure to uninstall your game (not the saves) and then reinstall it. It reduced SFIV from 5.7GB to 4.6GB. That's the biggest decrease so far.

Sounds good. I've been meaning to try installing some games with long load times (hello UFC!).since I got my new HDD.

PK, games on demand is a cool feature, but many games they sell can be found more cheaply in disc form.

This is being released on September 8th for $40. It seems like a pretty good deal to me, since I own none of those three games.

I've had this happen too...and found that continuing to play through the disk will eventually make it crash and unreadable. It's just that when you burn it it goes through all the info on the disk...and when you play you just haven't gotten to the bad spot yet.

Same here. The on-screen instructions in the white font and the always ringing walkie-talkie are just a pains in the ass

Has anyone been trying out the new arcade games? There's some quality stuff in there.

I beat The Secret of Monkey Island...and it was great. Trials HD is really good...but so so frustrating (and then it feels awesome when you get through). Shadow Complex came out today and if they hour I spent playing it is any indication...it's fucking phenomenal. 'Splosion Man is fun too.

I got Turtles in Time and Marvel vs Capcom. I was wondering which of the other games to try seeing as I had some extra points. I'm really enjoying Turtles in Time. Just like the old game, but better graphics.

I have and like Splosion Man, but it's frustratingly hard at points. MvC2 sucks ass solo, but is really fun at least in local multiplayer. The Turtles in Time demo didn't impress me. The original would have been better.

I just got Project Gotham 4. Damn is it addictive.

I got most of the Achievements for it except for getting gold and platinum on all the race. There is hardly anyone online to race against unlike PGR2.
I hate playing MVC2 online because 90 percent of the time people pick Cable, Sentinel, and someone else like Doom and it's all over from there.

So MS announced a few things today:

- Starting Friday, the Elite is getting a price drop to $299. New units are also losing the HDMI AND Component cables, leaving you with only the cheap composite ones. And you still have to pay $100 if you want the Wireless Adapter.

- The Pro is dropping to $250 since it is being discontinued, leaving the Arcade and Elite as the only 360's available for the holidays.

I'm not a hypocrite, (on this issue anyway) dropping the component cables on your top unit is horseshit. HDMI is fine, but you gotta include some form of HD cables with your highest priced unit. And really, do the duel composite/component cables they've included in the past really cost them THAT much? My guess is no, but that they did it because it's a unique connection to the x-box and you're forced to buy their cables, much like with the PS3. But come on, there is NO excuse to stop including the HD cable, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CURRENT ONE IS A DUEL CABLE WITH COMPOSITE INCLUDED AS WELL.

Not adding built in wi-fi is also a load of shit. It's the year 2009, it should NOT cost $100 to get wifi. Jesus Christ. Again, with the proprietary bullshit. You know what I really hate about this generation and surely after future ones of consoles? With the operating system comes the lack of 3rd party devices, specifically Action Replay type one. Yeah you need to be able to keep people from using them online absolutely, but if I don't want to waste 60 hours level grinding on some RPG that sucks to begin with, why should I not be able to cheat and level up? Or if I'm playing a GOOD game for the 17th time, why should I have to do the grinding yet again? C'MON MAN.

Anyone who buys a pro for $250 (and has the ability to pay the $299) when the elite is only $299 is a retard.

How much is the Arcade now? $199? They really should include a memory unit with it (or maybe they do?) because with no save device of anykind it's useless. And unless they do include it, those cost what, $40? So you're paying $240 right off the bat, again just get the elite. But if the arcade is $199 AND comes with the memory unit, then that's a decent deal for the casual gamer.
