Wonder where the Colby character goes from here. Usman is just that dude right now. Hope Khamzat can get another killer showing in, and get a shot.

I wonder if Leon loses next month if they just have Khamzat leapfrog everyone and get the next shot.

Ya know, Aldo just might be the GOAT. At this point it's either him or GSP.
You're onto something here but I still have GSP comfortably ahead. I hate to say it, but I probably also have Jon Jones ahead of him, too.

Jones over Aldo? Absolutely not.
What? Really? I'm not sure if I would say it as definitively as you did. Jones has never been dominated as bad as Aldo was by Yan or finished as quickly as he was by McGregor. Part of that is Aldo having a longer career, but still.

Aldo has only been in the game a few years longer then Jones and has a much, much higher strength of schedule and opponents. I don't rate the undefeated factor too highly which is also why I don't have Khabib in my Top 5 of all time. Jones also has taken literal years off because of either drugs or roids which knocks him down on my list too.

Jones has also regressed in terms of skills. He barely scraped past Santos and Reyes, you could argue he lost both fights.

Aldo meanwhile was very competitive for the first three rounds with Yan and has since gone on to beat Chito, Munhoz and Font and in the case of the last two guys dominate them.

Aldo was probably on steroids if you compare his post USADA career to beforehand. I’m not judging either way, they’re all on steroids except for the Diaz bros

I really don’t see how someone can compare their in cage performances and look at Aldo as being better. I understand people hate Jones as a person, but to me he never had prime performances like Aldo did against Hominick for example. He was just so dominant.

I still think Anderson from 2005-2009 is the GOAT and the Forrest fight cemented it. I don’t care what these guys do post-35.

The McGregor loss will always be a huge stain on Aldo’s legacy, sorry Stans. It was in his prime and he had literally forever to prepare for him, no excuses. He dropped the ball on the biggest stage, Khabib, GSP, Jones and Anderson would never have performed like that in their prime.

Anderson sticking his chin out against Weidman after faking being rocked then getting slept is a billion times worse then Aldo rushing into a Conor punch. Sorry dawg, it's true.

Yeah I can't believe I forgot about DJ, he belongs in that group I mentioned for sure. He might be the best, I think if he fought Dom a few years into his reign he might have won a decision.

Anyone who is the GOAT in their weight class certainly belongs in the discussion.

I don't think this is necessarily his fault so maybe it shouldn't be held against him but DJ's resume in terms of high level/elite wins isn't on the level of other dudes. Over his entire career his best victories have been over Benavidez and Cejudo. So if that's a criteria you'd use for determining a GOAT fighter I think he's behind GSP, Aldo and Jones.

I think this is just for the simple fact that his weight class was less loaded than really any other weight class. Like you said, not really his fault, but it doesn't present a fighter with as many opportunities as it does at 170 or 155.

This is shocking, because he totally doesn't look like the type of guy that would do that....
