Khabib has confirmed he's back in Russia under lockdown, as he understands it the show is still going to go ahead without him and they're trying to book somebody for Tony.

Dana got fooled by a fake Helwani twitter account and it lead to him saying that he's announcing the full card today. Speculation is that Gaethje vs Tony is the main event.

Edit: Tony vs Gaethje for the interim LW belt is the main event for UFC 249 next weekend, location has yet to be revealed. Fucking unreal.

I think there is a better than 50% chance this does happen. The fact that it is in northern Florida and I think announcing it with more time than the original dates makes it more likely to happen.

Unless there is a huge spike in Florida in the next 72 hours, I think it happens. I will watch it too, even though I probably shouldn't be thrilled about it. Live sports + gambling opportunities = my $$$

It's happening. They have the Florida A.C on board and ESPN put out a public statement supporting the card taking place which they wouldn't have done without Disney's blessing.

Where would the story of Dominick Cruz be in the annals of sports history be to come back after three and a half years on the shelf to reclaim his belt? It would have to be up there with one of the best comebacks ever, right?

it's hard for me to take these fights seriously from a sporting perspective, because guys aren't getting proper training. Nobody is gonna be prepared, so lots of people are probably gonna get fucked up and we won't really know if they would have in normal circumstances.

That's why even if Cruz wins, it's hard to rate it. I'll still be cheering for him, though.

Shockingly only one fighter missed weight for the card tomorrow, Jeremy Stephens coming in at 150.5 which is quite the miss. Cruz looked pretty drawn out on the scales, Cejudo looked good.

Time at the announcing table is a big help for fighters who are at this stage of their career. The guy has been able to download all kinds of information watching top level fights at cageside. While Cruz has been around longer and had a lot of injuries, the age difference is nowhere near as large as you'd think. Cejudo also barely beat Mighty Mouse, who was ten pounds lighter. Cruz is a better striker from distance and knows how to use that distance heavily to his advantage. Meanwhile this other midget has been calling out fighters not named Cruz even during the lead up to this fight for. Is he focused? I dunno.
