I'll never buy a system at launch again. The fact that I was able to get one should have been a sign, shouldn't it.

I got the original DS at launch at that worked out quite well for me. I also got the PS2 at launch but that ended up just being luck that I had pre-ordered at a place that didn't run out of pre-orders.

Is there a working r4 for the 3ds yet (as in plays 3ds games, not just ds games)?

Considering I had my DSXL and Dragon Quest IX stolen, anyone got the skinny on if I should just grab the 3DS when the price drop hits? Or should I just grab a DS?

The price drop is active right now at Walmart and Target. If you want a DS, get a 3DS.

I stopped playing DQ9 halfway through cause I got tired of it, but I'd still be horrified if I somehow lost it. Way too much time invested with the leveling up of classes and all that. When Dragon Warrior 7 came out I played up to the final dungeon, then my memory card got corrupted. I never bothered playing it again till last year.

I will play it again, it's among the first games I purchase when I buy it again. But yeah, losing everything I worked for blows.

Oh is it today that it starts? Thought the price drop wasn't for another week!

The price drop actually starts tomorrow, but WalMart announced they would drop early on the 9th, and then Target said "OHNOYOUDI-NT" and dropped on the 10th.

But if you buy one and log into the eshop before midnight tonight you still get all the free NES and GBA games

Unforunately I'm not going to get those 20 free games since I won't be able to buy one that quickly.

Any good 3DS games yet?

There are good games for 3DS but they're all Game Boy games from 20 years ago.

Ocarina of Time, Pilot Wings, Ghost Recon, Resident Evil the Mercenaries. Several good ones out there.

At the minute its hard to rip the games never mind create a loader for it. Too much piracy and realtime checks from what i remember reading.

Click the make offer button, offer $4. See if you can come to an agreement

I also had no idea you could get video games professionally graded. Oh god Don West needs to get fired from TNA so he can start selling GEM MINT 10 CHRONO TRIGGER!

Nintendo 3ds ambassador page is up that allows you to check the serial number of your 3DS to make sure you'll be eligible for the free games. Haven't checked mine since I'm not worried about that one, but I did check the one I bought for my wife after the price drop because I feared they might try to screw those ones over. It's eligible, hooray.

Don West used to keep me up to the wee hours of the night shilling gem mint Mark McGwire rookies and foil first edition Charizards.

So the SNES is marking its 20th anniversary (for the North American release) this month. I still have mine at home somewhere, but I think I'm missing the A/V cord. Super Mario World is still one of my favorite games of all time.

I would rank the SNES slightly below the PSone as the greatest console ever. So many great games and memories with that one. I remember saving my allowance for about 8 months to buy an SNES and immediately being floored by Super Mario World.

So I'll be traveling soon and I would like a suggestion of what DS game(s) I should get. I have Super Mario 64 DS, Pokemon Diamond, and LoZ: Phantom Hourglass.
I was thinking about Dragon Quest XI, New Super Mario Brothers, or anything else? I've played NSMB and it was okay but I don't think it will entertain me for hours while traveling.

As discussed in the deals thread, 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors is a fantastic game and Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is top notch as well. Both are action light, puzzle/story heavy so I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but if it is you can't go wrong with either one.

I'm a Nintendo fanboy for life. Sure I had an Atari, but the NES was the first system I actually remember and could play well (when Atari was out, I was still at the mash the button and run around in circles age). The SNES is one of the greatest consoles ever and really blew away the Genesis, IMO.

This thread was un-pinned. Probably by mistake, probably by me. (Can't tell you the number of times I've accidentally hit the remove topic button on my fucking ipad (thank god for the ARE YOU SURE confirmation), I probably hit non-sticky by mistake). I fixed it.

Hah, I get the same thing with "modify post" instead of quoting. Why those buttons are beside eachother, I'll never know.

AVGN has a decent new video posted, reviewing the 1990 Nintendo World Championship cartridge. Apparently he owns a copy.

Apparently it's actually Pat the NES Punk's copy, but I didn't make it all the way to the end of the video as it was pretty bad.

In other news you can download former president Jimmy Carter's cat in Nintendogs + Cats. I'm sure there are 3 or 4 people on the planet who care.
