I like how the biggest download is the video that is just scrolling text they could have found a much quicker way to deliver.

The games are 'officially' out not, and the official instructions on Nintendo.com are still the long slow process of 'redownloading' each game. Really hope they simplify it when the GBA games are out.

Beating Donkey Kong last night was one of the most satisfying video game moments of my life. I played the hell out of that game as a kid, but could never make it past world 8. The last battle with Donkey was really well done.

In the 2nd last room of the Find Mii tower, what am I supposed to do? Play during the day? It just says it's too dark to do anything.

Also that expansion looks pretty neat, maybe I'll stop accidentally hitting the L/R buttons when I hold the 3DS now.

Oh that dark room can fuck RIGHT off. You need a fighter with a white shirt to cast light or whatever their spell is called. Until you get one you just waste everyone and it's such bullshit. Worse, if you hire 10 fighters and it's the 10th that has that spell, you still have to waste the first 9 before the 10th comes in and casts it. On the upside I'm fairly sure once it's cast it sticks so you can go buy more fighters to actually kill the monsters. That room sucks ass, and you have to go through the whole game twice to get all the hats so you have to do it twice.

First time I did it I lucked the fuck out and my first warrior was a white shirt, so he walked in, cast the spell, and I had no idea it was even a problem until my second play through.

In other 3DS news, Star Fox 64 3D comes out tomorrow. DO A BARREL ROLL!

It was sold out in every store I checked on Friday and Saturday but my wife found a copy of Star Fox for me yesterday. The improved graphics really blew me away. I was expecting it to just look a bit sharper, but they really upgraded the fuck out of it and I could barely recognize some parts as having been in the original game. I turned off the gyro controls for now and I don't think I'll ever really use them, but it controls just fine with the thumb stick anyway. New voices I thought were going to bug me, but all the lines are the same, and for the most part read exactly the same as well, so I actually found myself liking them. DO A BARREL ROLL!

Thanks to Nintento Selects I picked up the Wii version of Punchout for $20. I'm enjoying the hell out of this game so far.

I'm glad the Wii finally has a "greatest hits" line. It certainly took long enough. I was puzzled why Mario Galaxy remained the full $50 long after the sequel had been released. Punch Out, and Mario Galaxy are titles I'm going to pick up very soon. My girlfriend bought Mario Super Sluggers and Twilight Princess for my Birthday a couple weeks ago.

Nintendo's stupid circle pad is going to be a cheap add on, no more than $20 when it comes out in America. Runs on a AA battery. Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Ace Combat, and more, are already confirmed to use it.

In more positive news, the 3DS is getting Monster Hunter 4, thus aiming a kick right at the Vita's balls.

There's also going to be a firmware update in November, increasing the amount of stuff to do via StreetPass Plaza, but the big deal is 3D video capture.

Also some shitty Vocaloid game.

Kid Icarus pushed back to 2012. BOO.

Mario 3D land - November 13
Mario Kart 3D - December 4

DSiWare version of Zelda: Four Swords will be available for free from September 28 and February 20. Not sure if the Zelda dates are just Japan or if that's America as well. Mario dates are US releases.

We first heard about the Silent Realm a few months ago when the title made its second appearance at E3. During these sections, Link will not be able to use his sword. Guardians will chase the hero and are capable of taking him out with just one hit. Players will need to collect tear drops in order to leave the area.

The Siren Realm is probably best described as a mix of Twilight Princess' tears of light quests and Phantom Hourglass' Phantoms that are found in the Temple of the Ocean King.

Fuck you, Nintendo, and suck my balls, Aunoma.

I read that it takes THREE HOURS to get to the first dungeon in Skyward Sword. I hope this game flops so they take Aunoma away from the series and give it to a new team that understands that Zelda is about exploration and combat and not puzzles and fetch quests.

Holy Hell I loved Mega Man for the Gameboy. It took me a while to figure out how to damage that one boss in Dr. Wily's castle (the one with the sword), and I love Elecman's stage music, which sounds exactly like Journey's "Faithfully".

I keep dying on level traps without even reaching the robot masters. Maybe I'm just rusty.

It is great hearing the NES tunes remixed for Game Boy though.

Entourage: The Movie: The Official Novelization said:
What? I had that game. It was remarkably easy and fun.

You must have been very good as a kid because I tried it again today and I barely made it to Heat Man, and he's the only Robot Master I've ever made it to. There are traps I can't even figure out (there's a moving flame on the ground that I just take damage from because it moves way faster than you can), enemies you have to take damage from (Sniper Joe shoots waaaay faster than any NES version I've played, there's like, 1/100th of a second to jump his bullet), and rooms I can't figure out (Ice Man has a room where three icicles fall and that's it, but the ladder still seems way out of reach). This doesn't even mention the damn jumps where I seem to hit my head on the ceiling and thus can't make the jump. I began to wonder if the fact some of the ammo/level traps move faster than you was bad emulation since you said it was so easy, so I checked the wikipedia entry for the game - it has several notes about how hard people find the game.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Man:_Dr._Wily%27s_Revenge

"Critical reception for the game has been favorable, with most sources denoting it as a competent if not excessively difficult"

"Reviewers have also commented on the game's high difficulty level. Skistimas stated that certain parts of the game simply require one to have played before in order to succeed.[11] Williamson exclaimed that the game is "freakin' HARD" due to its "pixel-perfect jumps", the "sheer number of attackers and flying bullets", and a lack of checkpoints within each stage"

"Lucas M. Thomas of IGN and Marcel van Duyn of Nintendo Life correspondingly pointed out that the sheer size of the player character within the small Game Boy screen makes dodging enemy attacks overly challenging and sometimes impossible.[20][12] Thomas furthermore observed the difficulty to be compounded by a lack of helpful Energy Tanks introduced in the NES Mega Man sequels.[20]"

(there's a moving flame on the ground that I just take damage from because it moves way faster than you can)

You need to do Ice Man first. I think He's most succeptable to the Mega Buster (I think), and his Ice Shot freezes the flames. I'm sure about that last thing.

enemies you have to take damage from (Sniper Joe shoots waaaay faster than any NES version I've played, there's like, 1/100th of a second to jump his bullet)

Then you must be faster than Sniper Joe.

and rooms I can't figure out (Ice Man has a room where three icicles fall and that's it, but the ladder still seems way out of reach).

Yeah, I vaguely remember this part. There's a jump to a ladder, and it looks like you can't make it. But you can.

I was so angered by the fact I can't make simple jumps without hitting my head and falling to my death (and as a result can't even make it to Cutman) that I had to go get Mega Man 2 for the NES and beat it. The "default Japanese difficulty" that the Anniversary Collection makes you play wouldn't cut it for my need to destroy a game quickly, so I made sure to get the NES version off the Virtual Console.

Anyone who has a 3DS or DSi should download Aura Aura Climber. Best $2 you can spend on the eShop.

So now I can get to Cutman, but he beats me. Man I suck at this game.
