I was just gifted (yesterday) a free 3DS. What 3DS games are out there that are good? I mean, besides Ocarina of Time. Any RPGs?

The girlfriend is making noise about buying a Wii. I think I could be for it. Now that it's dropped to $134. WITH Mario Kart (I imagine that's meant to move the systems, while clearing out the old MKs before the new one comes out)

I downloaded the Game Boy Double Dragon for no real good reason.

I figured it would be a much easier game since the GB port wouldn't be powerful enough to have multiple guys on screen to mug you, and I was right, it's super easy to just stroll the street beating people to death... then I landed all of 3 punches on ABOBO and was handily defeated.

The reviews for Super Mario 3D Land are coming out and they're very positive. I plan to pick it up on Sunday but fuck if I know when I'll find time to play it with Skyrim coming out.

Since its out of warranty, Nintendo's website is telling me it'll cost me $85 plus shipping and taxes to get it fixed. I'd almost rather buy a new one for a little bit more money, but don't want to lose all my VC games (and game saves, to a lesser extent).

I finally sent it in, cost me over $100 and they couldn't recover my save files and just sent me a new system. I can re-download my VC games, but in hindsight, when I could have just bought a new system for $150 or whatever and get a game with it, something I don't have like Metroid, the VC games (most of them I have hard copies of now) weren't worth it.

NES Kirby came out in the e-shop last week, this week brought us Metroid II. I bought them both, if I ever get done with the time sink that is Super Mario 3D Land I might actually play them.

3DS update that adds 3d video capture and such is out. More importantly, there's a sequel to Find Mii, and there are more images for puzzle swap...that are made of even more pieces. FUCK and I thought I thought I could finally stock up to the max of 300 coins and not do this shit again. Damn OCD.

On a different, possible Zelda-thread related but kind of general to Nintendo, they revamped their NYC "museum" area. Everything is off in a dedicated corner now and a "Zelda 25th Anniversary" area, which is pretty cool.

They also had collector's editions of Skyward Sword there so that took care of the controller issue.

Best Buy is doing the same deal this week too. Picked up mine Sunday with some Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart and Zelda on their Buy 2 Get 1 they have on games right now too.

I think one of the sad things about the 3DS is that unless you're into specific things, that's all that's worth owning. I play a lot of Samurai Warriors and I love that, and Street Fighter and DOA are good on it, but those feel dated. Pilotwings was too short.

I got a lot of play out of Resident Evil: Mercenaries. But the big shocker for me was Ghost Recon. I wouldn't have bought it but I'd heard it was surprisingly good, and that turned out to be correct. I sunk a good 20-25 hours into it and thoroughly enjoyed it.
