I'm interested in the Monster Hunter MMO - but I almost hope that it doesn't get localized as I know I'll spend way too much time with it.

Handheld/Mobile games are king in Japan right now, so a Japanese company focusing on them shouldn't be a huge shock.

I don't mind handheld focus.. but I can't do mobile/phone games that are anything more than short puzzle games you play for 5 minutes. =\

Yeah, it was more I was hoping if it came out to be on the 3DS or even the Vita. Being on iOS/Android isn't bad, just a little bit of a disappointment for me.

There's also the fact my phone's battery sucks and drains like mad if it does anything other than being a phone. Bad phone.

So like a year and a half after I bought it, I finally have a computer that can run Civ V. It probably can't run much else recent since the video card is blah. but I don't really PC game anyway.

Windows 8 is interesting; I'll never use the app portion of it, but it's interesting.

I also finally played the Papers, Please beta. Then I pre-ordered it on Steam.

I saw this and shook my head. Gamestop decided to profit on Operation Rainfall and screw both Nintendo and us consumers over. Those "used" games are probably part of the reason as well as to why Nintendo didn't make anymore physical copies. Joys.

If I'm Nintendo (and I'm not colluding with Gamestop on this) I put the game out for digital download at $29.99 right now.

You'd need a decent sized SD card for that if you owned only a Wii though.

And I'm really hoping Nintendo isn't in on this.

I actually bought a copy of this, new, for about $60 a couple of months ago. I got it from an independent gaming shop here in Toronto.

I just got some emulator stuff from my brother. Had to purge a chunk of my collection on eBay. What USB controllers do people suggest to play NES and SNES games?

I used the plug and play 360 controller.

I use a Logitech F310 (essentially a wired 360 controller). Only issue is that A/B and X/Y are reversed on 360 compared to SNES so any onscreen controller cues are backwards.

I used the plug and play 360 controller.

A wired 360 controller, that is. If it's a controller in a bundle called "Play & Charge", that'd be a wireless controller with a battery pack and charging cable, and that won't work on a PC (unless you have a separate wireless receiver). The Play & Charge USB cable is only capable of charging the battery.

Yeah, sorry. I went through a whole thing trying to explain 360 controllers for PC to a friend, including wired vs. wireless, and how the charge cable is technically a wire, but doesn't make the controller "wired"... It's a little confusing, so I try to make sure people don't go out and buy the wrong thing.
