I bought a 100% copy at Play and Trade in December 2008 that looked like it had never been touched. $20.

Why is Zelda on the SNES so damn expensive on eBay? Is it now a rare game?

Nope, it even had a Player's Choice reprint. This is assuming you're in North America, anyway.

There's rare and then there's high-demand. FFIII and Chrono Trigger for instance aren't really rare, but are really high demand.

Several of Titus' SNES games, like Incantation, are rare, but nobody wants them. Like exotic STDs. :p

I suggest checking your local pawnshops, and you should be able to score at least a cart only Link to the Past for around 10 bucks or less.

No i'm over in England, and i'm sorry for any confusion, i'm aware that it's not 'rare' in that sense (It's one of my three favourite games of all time) - I meant in very very high demand, now you put it that way.

Pawn shops are my killing fields for finding expensive games. I just had a killer week on Ebay, and most of it was because of pawn pick ups.

Wiiless i'm afraid.

Now if only they could create some sort of old school 'Super Game Boy' for the PS3 we'd be cookin'.

Well, that's why I added the qualifier for if you're in North America. I can't imagine it being too rare there, but probably wasn't printed in as high numbers as here.

I recall hearing horror stories about how much it sucked to be a 16-bit gamer in Europe, though. Lots of games you guys either missed, had to wait and eternity for, or the quality was very compromised for. But at least you got Terranigma.

Ebay is typically where you will see prices jacked up the most because of its popularity. I don't know what other options you have, but I'd ask around if there are other auction or used-game websites available in your region that may offer better prices.

To be honest, there are a lot of games on ebay which people ask you to pay a packet for that aren't that rare.

First party Nintendo titles (Mario World, Zelda, Mario Kart etc) are usually 20-25 quid each boxed and complete. Don't pay anymore than that though. You should never pay more than 5-10 pounds for an unboxed copy of any SNES game and a vast majority of them shouldn't be anymore than 3 quid.

So the ad before this week's AVGN promotes a reality show on Playstation Network where a bunch of people compete to win a job as a game tester. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't tester one of the shittiest entry-level jobs in the industry? Yeah, you play games all day, but usually it's a game you don't want to play and you end up playing the same part over and over. And, as long as you live in an area with a lot of developers, it can't be THAT hard to just apply for the job, can it?

The theory is that it's a) easier to get promoted to developer from within than it is to get hired as one as an outsider, and b) since testing is such a shit job, only the most driven developers-to-be will survive long enough to get promoted, thereby separating the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.

I'm not liking the 1.06 update for Uncharted 2.

The grenades are toned down too much, and the spawn locations are horrible. I've spawned right in front of enemies, right beside a spawning enemy, and under the tank in the Village. The tank spawn is extremely annoying, because there's nothing you can do about it. It's instant death.

So I'm thinking about getting Battlefield: Bad Company 2, since I've been really into Battlefield 1943. However, I'm wondering how drastic the jump between Bad Company 2's multiplayer is from 1943's and if I'm better off just sticking with 1943. I don't generally play a whole lot of FPS's and 1943 is the only one I play online, so yeah, any help you all can give me would be appreciated.

So i've just bought an N64 (again) just so I can play Zelda OOT (again) - And may I say, best decision ever. Although the controller doesn't seem to have stood the test of time too well.

Now am I right in thinking that the 'Super Game Boy' was only for the SNES, and not for the N64?

Because i'd love to play Link To The Past on my big screen again.

Yes. There was a planned peripheral, the Wide-Boy 64, that would have supported it, but it was never officially released. The Transfer Pak can do some limited things with certain Game Boy titles, but isn't a SGB.

I have my Game Boy Player hooked up to my GC, though, and it works just as well/better, since it plays GBA titles, too.

(Also, I think you mean Link's Awakening...)

Well yes, but.. Why are people paying £105 for this?

Some of his other sales too, they're very very high prices.

It's sealed. I got $50 for a copy of Tiny Toons 2 for the NES sealed. Otherwise it's a $5 game.

Tiny Toons 2 was a pretty tough game, and especially shitty considering the first game aped enough from Mario 3 to be pretty fun.

Now that I think about it, building a house (or "pad" if you will) next door to his arch enemy's keep is the smartest thing Mario or any other hero in popular fiction has ever done.

:( Man, I feel so sad for Kirby. He needs to put a game out that has him as the star.

Kirby: Squeak Squad was a great game, and the Superstars remake improved on one of the best SNES games. I want more Kirby DS games. Even Canvas Curse was a decent Nintendo Mascot Tech Demo Game.

Starting playing Indigo Prophecy for the XBOX yesterday. Pretty engaging, but good lord the controls are awful. Thankfully the more strenuous action is controlled through quicktime events, but tasks as simple as walking can be a chore which prevents me from getting into it as much as I could.

It's just as bad on the PS2. And the quicktime events get far more irritating than the walking soon enough.

Once you get about 75% through the game, just turn it off and make up your own ending. I guarantee whatever you come up with is better than they did.
