On my laptop, my mouse and keyboard have stopped working.

The start button is very unstable, and the mouse, when I click the left trigger, it acts like the right trigger.

It seems like the keyboard is in a locked position as when I try to type for example the letter F in mozilla, it acts like it is in a ALT + F locked position.

Is the laptop all but dead? Or is this solveable? It is using a Windows XP platform if that matters.

Likely. A keyboard replacement is probably not that expensive, but of course you'll probably have to come crawling back to the manufacturer about it. However, see how well it works if you just use an external keyboard and mouse. You may be able to squeak by a little longer without them if no buttons are acting like they're perma-jammed.

No, they remember who you are and everything and apparently because you were out, the team you go on to join didn't make the post-season the previous year.

So far, I've enjoyed all of it. You unlock Cooperstown as a place to play at and have to do challenges there in order to gain Hall of Fame votes for your superstar.

We're talking about TNA, not The Bigs 2.

And Molotov, you are wrong. My guy that I made had no mask. He was just a brown haired guy wearing purple biker shorts with flames on them. I'll take a picture if you want.

..and I was still talking about The Bigs2 when I was answering Molotov, Matt.

So after playing through Superman Returns which had been on my shelf forever I figured a more recent purchase should be next, so I finally played through Resident Evil 5. Good times. Not sure if I liked it as much as RE4, but it's close. The graphics were amazing and some or even most of the boss battles were epic and incredibly intense the first time through. The second time through with an infinite ammo magnum was pretty fun as well, and then after getting through chapter 5 the 2nd time I managed to get my total time under 5 hours and unlock the infinite rocket launcher. Oh man did it feel good to take out a couple of bosses that took me 20+ minutes to kill the first time in one shot.

Certainly worth the $60, and I'll have to give multi-player a try sometime.

Sadly now I figured I better go back to clearing out the old stuff, and up next is Sonic. I actually tried to play this when I got it in the fall of 2006, but couldn't will myself past the first level. We'll see how it goes this time.

Sonic Two Thousand Dicks' demo has a permanent spot on my hard drive just for larfs.

Sonic Two Thousand Dicks.

Rhymes with two-thousand six and adequately conveys how much I think it sucks: two thousand dicks.

Yeah that joke kinda fell flat. But the game does does. I've now managed to beat not one but TWO levels! It sure is awesome wandering around the shitty city with no indication of where you're supposed to go next. And the crappy camera doesn't help! Glad I got this as a gift and didn't pay for it.

And holy shit does this game have the worst boss battle I've ever played. And it's not like it's a final boss where they have an excuse for this. After level 2 you fight a guy named Silver. Of course you start with 0 rings, but silver starts between you and the rings, and if you get ANY where near him he yells IT'S NO USE and you freeze, then take damage. So instinctively you run towards the rings, and die. Try running away and he follows you. You can keep a safe distance, but it's fucking hard because you have NO idea where he is while you run away because the camera is so bad. Worse, even if you get rings of course you lose them when he IT'S NO USEs on you, but he can actually do it a 2nd time when he's being a real bitch before you even get a chance to run away, so you die. Total horseshit, and I'm convinced no one play tested this game.

And yes, I AM going to beat this fucker, mark my words this son of a bitch boss and game are going down! (and then probably into the trash can)

Edit: To hit the fucker you have to wait until he yells TAKE THIS and then he hurls some shit at you, at which point you can hit him. But the game is so poorly coded half the time when you hit him you take damage anyway for NO shown reason. You just homing attack hit him, he takes damage, and your rings go flying. The other half of the time you don't take damn. Thanks Sonic Team!

My favorite part is the homing suicide attack. Where you do the homing attack, but rather than moving towards the enemy in front of him, Sonic flies backwards off a platform to his death.

Because I have so many games that I haven't finished yet...and the attention span of...what was I talking about?...

Oh yeah...I've started playing my games in alphabetical order, getting an achievement in each and moving on to the next one. I'm up to the F's!

I have the same problem with tons of games I haven't finished. Hell I have tons I haven't started. What I've done is on my shelves all games are organized by system, and all the games not finished are first. So I know to grab whatever is at the front. I also try (and usually fail) to set a rule like I have to beat 5 more games before I buy that shiny new one.

I've set all kind of goals for myself to try and get motivated to play older games...but as soon as a new one comes out I get distracted. This is the time of year to get this stuff done though. The really good stuff starts coming out in the fall. That's when I'll be screwed again.

You'd think that, but there have been some good releases this summer.

That being said, my list of games I need to open sits at 6. Games I need to complete? Over 50.

I was watching "Penn & Teller: Bullshit" and they did an episode about how fear of violent games is well, bullshit. Anyways, they of course went to Jack Thompson (Yes, they insult him in the episode too) and I noticed that he had a 360.

I'm still wondering what Molotov and JHawk were talking about.

It's not that hard to figure out, Matt.

Yes, I understand that. But you guys said that you do not get to create your own character with a customized appearance in story mode, and that's just incorrect.

I got stuck at the Kevin Nash match in story mode, but up until that point, I was using my created character. I know the CAW and Suicide are supposed to be the same person, but I was able to create my own appearance.

It took me awhile to track down a copy, but I recently finally got a copy of the Suikoden DS game. What I was expecting was something similar to Suikoden I in play style, and just with a different cast of characters and location. Apparently my assumptions were way off. You don't have runes you have the mark of the stars, you have MP!, something unheard of in Suikoden land, and different weapons to buy instead of just upgrading your old ones. I'm only like two hours into it and so far I'm enjoying it. The story already is a bit bizarre and I'm guessing it'll only get crazier, but I like it!

But really my main reason for mentioning this is the voice acting. Not because it's bad, which is it, but because of the main reason it is bad: it's FAST! It's as if they wanted to make a talky RPG for the DS but were limited by the cartridge space limitations, so they told all of the voice actors to rush through their lines to save space. It's really bizarre as 70-80% of the dialog so far is delivered at rush speeds, even though there's no reason the characters would be talking so fast. You almost need the text on the screen to help you parse what they hell they just said. It's quite hilarious. When the characters are talking at normal speeds, the text will finish displaying before the spoken words are done. When they're in hypertalkreallyfastmode (most of the time) the on screen text isn't finished before they are. It's really odd.

Had a monster round in TF2 as an engineer. Now my performance graph is all fucked up because the engineer points bar is at 29, the sniper bar is 13 and nothing else is above 9.
