Wow, that's all terrible. I found the PS Plus option though, so that's something. Can't wait to see how long it takes to install Uncharted 3. I'm guessing 4 days.

Make sure you have enough room on the hard drive. That whole thing is something like 45GB, and it needs double that for the download package, and then to unpack and install it.

This is why I made a big deal when I saw giant patch sizes on PS4 and Xbox One. I haven't used either system, so I don't know for sure how it works. But it seems like PS4 patches have gotten bigger than PS3 (at least you can download in the background now), and Xbox One may have even gone backwards. I'm pretty sure I saw a 1.something-gigabyte patch for Angry Birds Star Wars. Title Updates I've seen on Xbox 360 have been in the area of... maybe 10 megabytes. That's a pretty huge regression.

In my opinion, it takes longer to install stuff if there are still downloads going in the background.

It's not officially confirmed yet by the PlayStation Blog (Edit: confirmed now), but there's a video on the console PlayStation Store promoting these games as January's PlayStation Plus lineup for North America:

Don't Starve (PS4)
BioShock Infinite (PS3)
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (PS3)
DmC: Devil May Cry (PS3)
Smart As (Vita)
Worms Battle Islands (Vita)

Glad I didn't run out nad buy Bioshock Infinite.

I saw the PS Plus sale and was going to get God of War Ascension until I saw that it was 34 gb. I gotta save harddrive space!

I just recently downloaded Binary Domain and Borderlands 2 off of plus and BD was 11gb.

Confirmed now:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/12/26/playstation-plus-january-preview/

I'd been considering Brothers, and I guess I'm always sort of looking at BioShock Infinite (though I know I have to finish the original two first). DmC is nice too. BioShock might be what gets me to try out the PlayStation Move setup I got.

I did actually buy God of War Ascension. I have a 500GB HDD and have about 100 GB or so left. Also have a shit ton of games that I have never played, so I can always free up some space if needed. Also, I just got the Platinum of Bioshock Infinite, so I'm not heart broken that it's free on Plus. Played they shit out of it and got my $60 worth out of it.

Infinite is awesome, and that's probably the best PS Plus benefit yet. You really only need to play the first Bioshock for continuity, not the second.

My fiance gave me Ratchet and Clank Into the Nexus and a few other games for Christmas. I wasn't expecting 40 hours of gameplay from Ratchet and Clank, but I thought it would be a little longer than 8 hours. It's a lot of fun while it lasts though.

I can't call ever buying a Vita wise yet. But it's certainly wiser than retarded me buying one in 2012. If you have a PS4 that'll make it a wiser decision as well.

It's so-so if you already have PS+ and a lot of the cross-buy stuff, as that can make it kind of worth it. I'm regretting my decision to get one less, these days, but they still need to beef up that library. I think Borderlands 2 coming over to the handheld will be the turn of the corner. Not sure when that is, though.

Oh, and FWIW, Final Fantasy V is finally a Vita-compatible PSOne Classic. Took them long enough.

They don't all go up on the 7th, mind you. Both Contrast for PS4 and Grid 2 for PS3 are leaving. Don't Starve will definitely be up, and one of the PS3 titles may go up as well. After that, there will be games coming and going every Tuesday.

So, this was announced at CES: http://kotaku.com/sony-announces-game-streaming-service-playstation-now-1496385001

Soon, you'll be able to play top-shelf PS3 games like The Last of Us on tablets and smartphones, thanks to Sony's newly-announced PlayStation Now streaming service.

Announced today at the company's CES keynote, PlayStation Now will let users access Sony's catalog of games on any device that connects to the service. PlayStation Now builds on the 2012 acquisition of the Gaikai game streaming service. Sony exec Andrew House told the CES audience that The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls would be among the first games on the service, which will also offer a subscription-based plan. A closed beta for PlayStation Now would be starting in January, with a planned roll-out happening this summer.

Previous discussions about the PlayStation game streaming service have mentioned that plans are to make the back-catalogs from the PS1 and PS2 eras available along with offerings that debuted on the PS3. A recent patent suggests that Sony may be planning to add trophies to these older titles, too.

Update: Here are the relevant parts from the press release Sony just issued.

In addition to PlayStation platforms, most 2014 U.S. models of Sony's BRAVIA® TV*2 lineup will support PS Now. Eventually the service will expand beyond PlayStation platforms and Sony devices, allowing users to stream PlayStation games on numerous other Internet-connected devices.

SCE's vision for PS Now is to enable users to instantly enjoy a wide range of full games on the Internet-connected consumer electronics devices they use every day. The accessibility of PS Now means, for example, that PS4 users in the living room can continue playing a game on a PS3 system in their bedroom. Or PS Vita users can enjoy instant access to a game wherever there's Wi-Fi connectivity, such as outdoors, then can switch to a supporting BRAVIA® TV's big screen and play the same game after arriving home.

PS Now will offer choice to gamers with how they want to access content. Gamers can rent by title for specific games they are interested in, or they can choose a subscription that delivers additional value with the ability to explore and play many games available across a wide variety of genres. In addition, the service will support many popular PSNSM features such as online multi-player, Trophies, and messages.

"We are thrilled to deliver entertainment experiences only possible from PlayStation through our new streaming game service," said Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. "PS Now will allow users to engage in the world of PlayStation, whether they're existing fans or have never owned a PlayStation platform."

During the 2014 International CES held in Las Vegas from January 7, attendees can visit the Sony booth to have a hands-on experience with the PS Now service for the first time ever. Attendees can enjoy four blockbuster PS3 titles, BEYOND: Two Souls, God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us and Puppeteer from SCE Worldwide Studios, on PS Vita or BRAVIA® TV.

Prior to the official launch, SCE will begin a beta program on PS3 systems in certain regions of the United States from the end of January. Additional information about PS Now will be available at http://us.playstation.com/playstationnow

Announced earlier this week, Sony's PlayStation Now service will stream cloud-based games to Sony consoles, handhelds, TVs and more. PlayStation Access put together this lovely little primer covering the how, what and whens of PlayStation Now.

It's basically Onlive for PlayStation Games. Games are run on remote servers, accept remote input from the player's Dualshock controller. What the player sees is actually video of the game they are playing, streamed over the internet.

According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, the team developing the service estimates a 5 mbps connection will provide a good experience for players on most game. Might want to hook up a network cable to your PlayStation 3 or 4, just to be safe.

I tried to play Deus Ex, but I just couldn't get into it.
However, that's awesome that Blood Dragon will only be 3.75, I'm jumping on that.

Is Crysis 3 any good?

No idea about Crysis, but I highly recommend Lone Survivor. Really fun retro style survival horror game.

I feel like Spelunky being cross-buy (even though I don't have a Vita), and the same sale price as PC, and having $10 in my PSN wallet might mean I'll pick it up, despite my aversion to buying digital on consoles when there's a PC option.
