The one I got was "Thanks for the follow. But even though you're following me, don't think of me as your leader. Think of me as the guy you have to obey."

So, with firmware 3.40 launched today, Playstation Plus (Sony's piad PSN subscription) starts today. Anybody going to bother with it?

I'm going to wait and see what the ROI is.. and also to see if there are discounts associated with games like DCUO and it's subscription fee. If there's no discount I'm definitely not signing up for PSN+.

I got Playstation Plus. Wipeout was not shown to me, presumably because I already owned it. I got the PS1 title and the mini. Also, counting the theme and the avatars I got, I estimate I got $12.50 worth of value. Also downloaded the Infamous Trial. Rather, still downloading. If you don't own Wipeout, the value jumps to about $26. Also, a free subscription to Qore is worth $25. So basically, if you're INTO all of that, it pays for itself on the first day.

Other deals include discounts on DLC and selected PSN titles.

While I was planning to buy the mini, there was no way in hell I was ever going to touch Rally Cross.

Looking over what is available, there really isn't enough to entice me to sink the $50 to get it yet. Down the road if they offer items I want a discounted price, then I may consider it. But right now, it would be like paying $50 for nothing new.

Nope, it isn't. Not yet, anyway.

So I have a PSP now, I got MGS, Persona, and Dissidea. Haven't cracked open Persona yet, but MGS is great, and Dissidea is fun times.

And for some reason Persona and Dissidea were $20 each new at Gamestop...

I'm hearing UK customers are supposed to get LittleBigPlanet for free when signing up for PSN+ and North Americans are supposed to get 15 months for the price of 12 months.

Like I said earlier, I'm not opposed to paying for it, but there has to be a benefit or great savings for me to even consider it.

Persona and Dissidia are both $20 new. How big is your memory card? I ended up paying $55 on Amazon for a 16 GB card. I've filled 12 GB.

Yup, Europe only. I thought about it, and £40 for a LBP + shit ill probably never play/use vs the game which retails used at £10 makes more sence.

I still have the 2GB one I got with the system.

The MGS PW install is 1 gig...............

I'll probably get a new one at some point...

But not installing Dissidea hasn't been too bad.

Yeah. I probably won't buy it. $200 is too much. And other than MGS, I only see myself buying Kingdom Hearts and God of War games. I'm not sure I know anybody with a PSP or else I would totally borrow it and rent MGS. Already checked the Rent A Center site to possibly rent out a PSP but they don't have em. :/

The controls for MGS really suffer from the lack of a second Analogue stick. But oh well, its a quirky little shooter with 1726267526542665423hrs of cutscenes.

I fail to see how this system isn't so much better than the DS that it hurts. I mean, I've got a special situation. I work 8 hour graveyard shifts at work, and pokemon wasn't doing the trick at all. That's a game you have to play all the time...But this system has tons of great games to play for cheap, from PSN. AND I can watch movies and such. I fail to see a downside.

Granted, not everyone is in my circumstance, or they have a laptop, but nonetheless.

That was my thought back when the system was released. It does EVERYTHING, hell leave your PS3 connected to the net and you can access it anywhere, thats awsome.

I think the reason it generally sucks is due to the fact there are no real must have games for it. If you dont like MGS, there goes 1 major reason for owning one.

I think PSP is pretty cool. I have some PSN games I'd like to transfer to a PSP so I can play on the go. It's just that it's too expensive in my opinion, especially since I wouldn't use it much. I have a DS, but I would for sure rather have a PSP. I just wish I could get one for cheap, or as a gift.

I lost the bid I was going for. But it was probably the best thing. I keep going back and forth as to whether I should spend the money or not, or just wait it out. I'm temporarily moving out of the country in a few months and money is definitely a concern so idk. Thanks for the tip though. I'll keep that in mind.

Ebay is a bastard at times, more times than enough ive set a limit to how much i wanna pay for an item, then because im outbid near the end i ALWAYS reason with myself that an extra few quid wont matter.

Then the bill comes and i regret it.

If I would have won the bid, altogether the PSP 1001 with the necessary components (battery & cable), memory stick, carrying case, and 3 games would have been $86 after shipping. Seemed like a good deal, but whatever. I would have had to spend another $40 on Metal Gear anyway.

So I bit the effin bullet and ordered the damn thing. $85 for the psp with a 32mb memory stick, 2 crappy games, and the necessary components. 32mb is pretty small, but I don't see myself using the PSP for anything other than playing games. I own 2 ipods, and don't watch movies.

I don't use my PSP for anything but playing games, but I like to use the PSN to get a decent number of games, which is why I got a 4 GB card, which became an 8 GB card, which is now a 16 GB card. Hot Shots Tennis is 1.1 GB to download.
