Yeah, I have some PSN games but not too many. I was under the impression you could transfer PSN games from the PS3 using USB cables. But if I can't then I'll invest in a better memory card later on. I'm just looking to play MGS for now. But can anyone confirm the usb thing?

Indeed. you can buy a PSP game on the PS3, and transfer it to the PSP with USB. But let me ask you: With a 32 MB memory card, how would the games fit?

Indeed. you can buy a PSP-compatible game on the PS3, and transfer it to the PSP with USB. But let me ask you: With a 32 MB memory card, how would the games fit?

Oh, right! Duhhhr. I'll probably go for a 4gb one in a few months. I figure I'll decide by then if a PSP is something I'll use a lot.

I don't know. I don't really mind load times too much. If it's really a problem, I'll just spend the $15 for a 4gb memory stick. Although, I think the seller of the PSP is willing to throw in a 1gb stick for an extra $5 as well.

EDIT: Yeah, so he threw in the 1gb for the extra $5. So I got that MGS situation covered. I'll prob free up that install space for some PSN stuff when I'm finished with it, if I don't get a 4gb by that point.

So my PS2 that I've had since Christmas of 2003 has started giving me disc read errors on multiple games and is refusing to load them. It's one of the big ones, for the record. Is it fucked? Or is it potentially salvageable? I'm not ready to give up on a system that has 2 Mega Man collections for it.

Idk man....My old PS2 is donezo so I had to buy the slim PS2 to replace it years ago. The first time I had massive disc read errors on my original PS2, I opened it up and cleaned the lense of the CD reader with a dry cotton swab. I had to do it again a year later but it was done for. You can try it though.

I figured there had to be at least some things I could try before I went looking for another one. Thanks!

My PSP still hasn't arrived but the store informed me today, that the LCD screen cracked while it was being prepped for shipping, and now they're sending me another one with Soul Calibur and a 2 gb memory stick, in addition to the other two games and the 32mb stick they were already sending me to make up for the delay. Not bad! My Peace Walker is sitting on my dresser waiting to be played. They didn't inform me about what happened until I sent them a couple of emails. I'm glad I was the annoying customer, because now I get some free stuff out of it!

Finally played some Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker today. The comic book style cut scenes are awesome. Bummed you can't manually save, but oh well. Can't wait to fully dive into this tomorrow night.

How is it otherwise? I still haven't picked it up yet - my PSP is being neglected lately. :(

Only played for about 30 minutes so I can't really judge it too much, but I really enjoyed those 30 minutes. The controls are pretty cool. It's a little weird that you can't crawl though. If you are really familiar with the first Metal Gear Solid, you will mark out at one of the early characters in this one. Unless, it was already covered in previews. I try to avoid previews and in depth reviews so I can be surprised.

Anyone download & play the Kane & Lynch 2 demo yet? It is sort of fun but feels kind of wonky, and the screen can be choppy at times, with some weird lighting effects at certain spots.

The single player demo is rather short, but you probably get the idea of how the game plays. Was the first one that same style?

You can also play one multi-player mode. The server seemed to have trouble lasting an entire round at times. I like the fact that if someone turns on you and kills you to get a bigger share, you respawn as a cop and it marks the person who killed you.

I think that's intentional given that your view is supposed to be of a cameraman that is following them around filming everything guerrilla style.

So I beat Peace Walker. The ending was suitably epic, of course. Now I'm playing the, you know, aftermissions.

In a way this reminds me a bit of FFX. There are missions that I've played that are waaaaay harder than the last boss. And doing well in these gets you the REAL fun equipment, stuff that you would never need for the regular game.

Actually I'll bet there's a Hard mode that I haven't played yet, hopefully you can carry your base over from one game to the next...

I really missed the standard MGS cast of supervillians in this game, I have to say. I mean MGS 1, 2, 3, and 4 all had the craziest boss fights. I always heard Hideo was basing them off of the wacky ones from the NES and SNES days. The most ridiculous was always the Fatman from MGS2, a fat guy running around on rollerblades, setting bombs you had to diffuse. Anyways, this game's bosses are much more mechanical in nature. Usually like the Helicopter boss fight from MGS1, or the Raven-in-a-Tank fight from MGS1 (if I remember correctly) which makes sense since if you fight them right you can steal the vehicles. But I did miss characters like Revolver Ocelot.

Of course my friend loved hearing the "songs" that would play during specific boss fights, and the fact that you can program your own songs, somehow to play when people are fighting your bosses, is really cool. I wouldn't know how to do it, but still.

I don't wanna read your post because I'm worried it'll spoil a few things, but if you see this, and if you can answer this specific question regarding Peace Walker, that'd be great.

Is it possible to beat Peace Walker alone? Or do you NEED people to help you? I'm not too far into it (beat two bosses), but it's awesome so far.

Yes you can beat it alone. There's like a FEW places that you need a boost to get up, but I think you might might might be able to climb onto a cardboard box item?

You can certainly beat it. Its kind of epic, and you'll give yourself a headache doing it, staring at that screen for hours, but it's worth it.

There's a stage with Heavens Divide playing overtop which is almost as epic as The Ladder.

Thanks! I wasn't worried so much about climbing certain things, but about boss fights. I've read a few people saying you can't beat certain bosses alone.

Is it possible there's some special secret boss that you can only kill with two people in some optional mission I don't know about?

Yes.

Did I get a credits scroll alone?

Yes.

Is it possible your friends suck?

Yes.

Did they give ANY specifics at all? It can be challanging to capture some of the vehicles without enough fulton balloons to eliminate all the backup units, thus necessitating their murder, which can be frustrating if you didn't pack any kill-weapons, but this is a minor issue. In fact the early boss fights have Fulton Boxes strewn about for this very reason AND you can always destroy the vehicle instead of capturing it.

Not my friends. Just some people on some video game messageboards, when I was researching the game before I bought it. I sorta figured they were just pussy gamers and so I bought it anyway. But I wanted confirmation from someone who beat it alone.

The only specifics I remember were them complaining you might need one person focusing on one kind of attack, and another player focusing on a different strategy.

God dammit, I need some GOOD co-op offline games. I mean shooting games mostly. We've cleared the Army of Two games and so far I am having ZERO luck finding any other good ones that don't involve the words "online 2 player mode".

Are there ANY good 2 player offline games out there? And I don't mean the Lego series either. This is getting brutal. Transformers I thought had two player offline co-op but looks like I was incorrect. So the hell?

The Pupa boss fight in Peace Walker was really cool. Totally surprised that was a boss so early in the game. Wow.
Also finished Heavy Rain. Had my doubts, but it ended up being really cool. Selling it on Glyde though, since there isn't much to do anymore except replay levels and see different endings. So far, I've seen two of them.

There was going to be DLC for Heavy Rain to solve this problem, but it got cancelled for a Move support patch.

You may have NAT problems.

Ive no idea what this means, but i had to follow guides via google to get mine to connect without disconnecting during games.
