That new PS3 doesn't look that much smaller than the current slimline version. Anything new or different about it otherwise?

My biggest gripe with that kind of loader is the dust factor. If ever got one of these I'd need to start investing in canned air duster again as my condo is a dust factory. Not to mention cat hair. I've just always liked the front loading motorized disc slot.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I hate those fucking commercials so much, so this is like an early Christmas gift from me. Sony is going to sink his battleship.

I forgot the gigantic boner that most gaming publications had for Okami when it was first released. An older magazine that I have here that I don't think is still in print gave it 10/10 and under the "what you wont like" section of the review says, "to find flaw in an interactive work of art of this magnitude is to not be a real gamer". Hear that? If Okami might not have been your cup of tea, you're just a poser.

I wanted to wait on the Vita until a price drop, but had some extra money after I found out I really didn't need to buy new tires this year, so I picked one up on Friday. I'm already regretting it. I'm sure eventually there will be some good exclusives for it, but man so far I'm not fan of this thing. I have big hands and even for me the thing isn't very comfortable to hold. The dual sticks are certainly better than the psp nub, but they aren't nearly as good as I expected. I got the Madden bundle because it came with the game and a $50 best buy card, and I will at least admit this is the first portable port of a sports game I've played maybe ever that's decent. The Vita controls don't make it all that fun, but that's not Madden's fault at least. I also picked up Resistance, which I'm hoping is a better experience.

But yeah really wishing I had just waited for price drops/there to actually be games for it. But at least I can play the Pinball Arcade on it.

I enjoyed Mortal Kombat quite a bit. There's a lot of content shoved into such a small game card. Uncharted is alright though the camera minigame will make you hate life.

I wanted to get Mortal Kombat when I got the Vita but it was sold out. I haven't played any of the Uncharted games, should I be able to jump into the Vita one or do I need to play the others first?

MK is great on Vita. That it comes with all of the DLC bundled into it is a pretty sweet deal too. It's the only physical game I've bought so far.

Speaking of Vita fighters - I borrowed my friends copy of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and it's actually really stunning, visually, and controls pretty much exactly the same as the console counterpart. Street Fighter X Tekken comes out next Tuesday and from what I've seen it looks very nice as well.

That being said, I feel your pain Smues. I bought the Vita on a whim and wasn't too impressed with it. I like the larger screen and whatnot but the game support is pretty lacking. That and the fact that they neutered cross-play or whatever it is, really annoyed the shit out of me. Thankfully things are starting to pick up as more games are starting to add in cross-play and there seems to be a slew of good digital titles coming down the pipe. I just napped Retro City Rampage (you get a copy for your Vita if you buy the console version) and it's really fun. The 8-bit music alone is worth the price of admission. ;)

Pretty sure you can play this one with no knowledge of the story from the console version.

Yeah you definitely don't need any knowledge of the previous games. It's pretty much a reboot.

So, are any PS Plus members trying out the All-Stars BR beta? Because, so far my thoughts are that it's pretty fun, but that it doesn't seem to have the depth of a Smash Bros.

Deeper than Smash. Just watched a PaRappa combo vid and am inspired.

PSN Store needed an overhaul. It was awful to try and find things unless you knew they were there.

I haven't seen the new store yet, but the old one was awful so I imagine it has to be better. Just trying to browse what was available was a pain in the ass.

Yeah, the video by IGN even pointed out my main frustration with the store - they put up a list of items that just abruptly ends at a certain point and you have to know where else to search. Now it has a "show more" option or at least points you in the right direction.

Shit, I didn't even realize this was out already!

I haven't seen much about the new PlayStation Store, but I hope their design people get some very basic colour rules right this time.

White text with a light-grey shadow on a primarily white background (admittedly made worse by photographing a CRT). Cool, thanks.
