Yeah I never understood the need to make the events leading up to A New Hope so short..they made things sound so terrible when reality the biggest war lasted only a few years and the dreaded Empire was around 17 years old when five people decided to shut it down....

I think it was portrayed as terrible not because of the length, but because of the scope of the war..

I would un-ironically watch any show that used Ewoks like that every episode.

No worries, CBright, suppose I should stop being lazy and try and make one myself haha. That ewok is class though, upstages everyone.

So has anyone bought Clone Wars: Season One on DVD? So far, I'd say the stories of season two have been superior to season one so - in terms of action, story telling, etc. - everything. I wish it was November 2010 right now, because I'm sure that is when the next set will be released. They've used villains like Cad Bane, Nute Gunray, Lott Dodd, and another one of my favorites, Poggle the Lesser and I'm a mark for MOST Star Wars villains. Of course, I'm not to saying season one was all bad - they just had a lot of hits (Ambush, Rookies, Defenders of Peace, Cloak of Darkness, the Ryloth trilogy, Hostage Crisis) and misses (Blue Shadown Virus...alot of others). It reminds me of the comparisons between Justice League season one and two.

I watched the Star Wars Christmas Special this morning - and after five years - I say the samething. The only good bit of it is the short animated part which introduced us to Boba Fett....who ended up getting killed by a blind man. :'(

My best friend is convinced that Lucas should use the Avatar tech to make Episodes VII-IX, and simply de-age the original actors digitally

When does your best friend propose placing the sequels? Making the Thrawn trilogy? Bakura? Introing Mara Jade?

He's not a writer; he just knows that there were originally supposed to be nine episodes. I'm not even sure how much (or even if) he knows much of anything about the EU.

Well, he has to okay some of the bigger stuff like Chewbacca dying, for instance.

Although I like The Phantom Menace (however, I think it is the worst entry of the whole series), I think I'm going to enjoy watching this.. D\

EDIT - I went to the Jedi Council Forum to see how the discussion for this review was going and every topic has been locked because there is "too much foul language" or some bullshit even though this video has many valid points.

Still haven't got around to watching his review, but I have a feeling its going to be half decent if it can rile up the Star Wars community. As time has gone on I enjoy Phantom Menace a bit more, but the new trilogy is so weak its hard to not dislike it. I'm glad Lucas said he isn't going to make the last three installments of the Star Wars story as I think it'd ruin way too much EU.

Why is Lando wearing Han's clothes at the end of ESB? (In reference to the fact I watched the FG/ESB deal the other day)

I guess he got them out of Han's space dresser in his space bedroom aboard the Falcon. And I guess he has some weird issues accepting his role in betraying Han.

Here's another question probably that's more about technology than the films, but something none the less:

Why is it that with the DVDs that have both a SE disc and theatrical release disc, the SE is in a widescreen ratio that is enhanced for widescreen TVs, but if you watch the original version, you need to manually use the "stretch" option on your player (if you even have it), otherwise it's just a letterboxed movie set-up for watching on a normal TV. The conspiracy theorist in me says they just wanted you to watch the SE and ignore the "bonus" disc.

You're pretty much right, but the real story is faster and more intense. See, I heard that Lucas was pretty much forced into releasing the original edits in order to keep his ex-wife from getting the rights to them.

Also of note with the originals, the last time I watched ROTJ it was off the SE VHS tape so I actually didn't realize this song didn't exist in the movie:

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

I like it, but now I have the yub-nub song stuck in my head.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Is that Megabyte!?

One last thing - Obi Wan determining that the Jawas were attacked by The Empire due to the "precision shooting" only a Stormtrooper has is the funniest line in the whole saga.

Tough to tell. He's got Tony Jay's speaking style, but it could just be this guy's from the same school of voicework.

This is the first time i tried watching on my dvd upscaler, and fuck george lucas. My tv when on HDMI doesnt have an option to stetch the picture vertically, so if i want to watch it, it looks horrid.
