Not the horns. I know what those are. It's hard to explain. Hold your hands out with your palms open to you. Close your hands just a little and wiggle your fingers back and forth.

Sounds like you're just describing air guitaring. [/quote]

I didn't see a follow up and need to know if this is true.

That's the only metal song in my (admittedly rather small) singles collection. I found it in a charity shop when I was looking for an 'extremely unfashionable old person coat and also a turtleneck sweater' to wear in a short film.

So Sonisphere was pretty fantastic. Metallica's setlist was unreal -only 4 songs past And Justice, and two of those were from the black album. Excellent stuff.

For those of you who are fans of Marco Hietala's original band, Tarot (Bear Hugger213 I'm looking at you). You may be interested in knowing that as if the re-recording of Wings of Darkness for their 25th anniversary wasn't enough, they went ahead and re-recorded the entire Spell of Iron album for 2011.

Also, this is just amazing. "The Scarecrow" from Avantasia's live DVD that recently came out in the States:

Though I plan to buy it if its released Stateside, I went ahead and downloaded Tarot's "Spell of Iron 2011" earlier. This is pretty damn amazing and a frontrunner for one of the best metal releases of the year.

Back in 2003, I was going to go see in In Flames. But then, some cunt ruined the day. Is it still worth it to see them now?

I thought they did good at Sonisphere; mind you, I'm not a huge In Flames fan, but they did play something off of Whoracle, which made me quite happy.

Listened to the new (old?) Tarot album on the way to work today. Holy fuck is it amazing! It's too bad America is afraid of playing good music on the radio, because this should be played everywhere. Then again, New York doesn't have a rock station to play anything.

With these, the new Ulcerate, and the return of Autopsy, this is a great year for Death Metal so far.

More goodness from Marco Hietala (chorus only, and judging by his face, doing this for a paycheck). This is a couple years old, but a good song.

Frontman of this group looks like Alter Bridge's Miles Kennedy.

BH, have you heard any of his stuff with Northern Kings? Some very good songs there.

I managed to find Kamelot: Live in Waken. It was the final show they did with Roy Khan. Sadly, I now have a good idea as to why he left. His voice is shot to shit. It cracks in several spots on the show. Its an awesome set otherwise.

Northern Kings is really solid. There are a couple of tracks from their 2 albums I don't really dig, but overall, it's some good stuff. Nightwish, Northern Kings, Delain, Sinergy, and Tarot, all really solid bands that Marco has had his hand in.
