Suffocation was excellent when I saw them. Of course, Cryptopsy blew them off the stage, but they had a tendency to do that when opening for other bands. Dimmu Borgir being the most hilarious example

Baroness double album "Yellow and Green" leaked. First album is really different. A lot less heavy and much more mellow but still very catchy. It's kind of more psychedelic rock than metal. The vocals are fantastic and better than ever.

I will listen to Green tomorrow.

The more I listen to Augury the more I enjoy them. Excellent progressive death found somewhere between latter-day Death and Disillusion's fantastic Back to Times of Splendor.

The new Ihsan-it's not bad, but compared to how great "After" was, I find it to be a bit of a letdown.

I've heard a few songs off of it. It's really impressive-kind of sounds like Queens of the Stone Age in their prime with a slight prog touch. That being said, it doesn't sound like metal at all, but it's still pretty good.

...you've never heard of Emmure or God Forbid? They're both pretty damn popular. Emmure is awful (as in "worse than Five Finger Death Punch, Trivium, and Killswitch Engage" awful, considering how shit those bands are), but God Forbid isn't too bad. Their issue stems from openly being metalcore and not really moving on from that style when the rest of their contemporaries did. Really solid musicians, but their reliance on chugga-chugga breakdowns and standard hardcore beats and screamed vocals hamper them. Not bad overall. "Antihero" is a killer tune.

Battlecross is a pretty fun little band. It's nothing new or life-altering, but they're not horrible. Think early Trivium before they just began ripping off classic Metallica with less breakdowns and more solid song structuring.

I've heard of Pop Evil but just never heard them. I have suffered no big loss of value to my life because of this. In fact, I'm probably better off seeing as they're supporting Five Finger Death Punch and Killswitch Engage on tour and are higher on the bill than other acts. That alone tells you they're probably worthless.

The new Torche album is their best yet.

Any band with the name Pop Evil is bound to suck.

I'd rather eat goldfish crackers out of David Crosby's chest hair than go to this show.

I heard one track and it was really great. The man is an amazing guitarist and not a bad singer either. He just has the stigma of being in Creed, though Alter Bridge is widely accepted. FWIW, Creeds 2009 album Full Circle was pretty damn good.

If you can get past Scott Stapp, Creed isn't as bad. The problem is his vocals. Teu get in the way of solid music. I was just mentioning to a friend how it's amazing how loved AB is from the same people that hate Creed.

A couple of co-workers and I are planning on going to Wacken, Germany next year and are really pumped for this festival. Does anyone know anybody that has been to Wacken Festival before, and what we can expect?

I have a couple of live albums and DVDs that were recorded there. Looks like a HUGE outdoor metal festival. I can pretty much guarantee you will get to see Kamelot, Edguy (or Avantasia), Jorn Lande, and Maiden. You'll also earn my eternal jealousy. I know it doesn't answer your question but it's the best I've got. I'd love to go to Wacken Open Air one year.

Edguy/Avantasia's Tobias Sammet falling off the stage at a festival last week. He's insisted he was sober, his shoes were fine and the stage wasn't wet. Looks like he just misjudged his step. Couldn't find a gif without a troll face.

Balloons are now banned from stages across the world.

Also, him falling off the stage timed perfectly with your sig makes it seem like Tobias is Sephiroth in disguise.

Amon Amarth will play at the True Metal Stage from 20.00 to 21.15 o’clock
The Scorpions will play at the Black Stage from 21.30 to 23.00 o’clock

Abnormality was the best of the three bands I saw at that house show with Cerebral Bore a close second. Dysentery just looked like they didn't want to be there at all, and I think only the bassist stuck around after their gig to hang out.
