The fact that they don't use the WiiSpeak function is probably the best thing about it. As mentioned before, listening to retarded fat loners talk tough on the mic got annoying super fast.

It's too bad you didn't get it a couple weeks sooner when they were doing Double XP!

Yup, Xboxlive sucks with each release of a mega hyped popular game.

I told someone today I didn't like MW2 and he looked at me as if I was raping his dog in front of him - right there and then. A look of shock horror, that quickly turned into blood boiling anger.

Popped in MW2 last night for the first time in a few weeks. Played a half dozen multiplayer games and got my ass handed to me for the first 3 or 4 until I started to re-familiarize myself with the controls. Had a Kill/Death ratio of 2/14 and 3/13 for the first 2 games, and towards the end I was about even with 12/12 ratios

What is wrong with my game? I finally got back into MW2 and now, for the last 2 days, I haven't been able to join a single game except for when I was invited. What the hell? My NAT is open.

Me and some IRL buddies have been doing private matches of 3 on 3.. it's fun with some of the game modifiers you can use - double health, fast regeneration, spawn delays, etc.. You can also use your current level/class, you just can't level up or gain more exp from the matches. They also don't count against your leaderboard rankings. We want to try bigger matches, of 4 on 4 or 5 on 5, so if I see any of you on I'll shoot an invite over if you're interested. ;)

How many of you guys play Hardcore? I find it's a much more entertaining game as you only need a hit or two to bring a guy down, which forces you to play more conservatively. I play on my buddy's account a bunch and I have a ball as the LMG Specialist in our group, especially on maps like Estate and Terminal.

I know I'm like a year or two behind on this, but I finally just ordered Modern Warfare (the first one) and this is pretty much my re-introduction to FPSes again. I think I'm looking forward more to the single player than the multiplayer from the sounds of it (and I already know how bad it can get just from Madden's multiplayer) but should still be a fun way to get back into this genre.

I like Hardcore because it is a bit more "realistic" and adds more technique into how you play..but it then breaks down into "finding awesome hiding spot and camp" since there aren't any killcams.

I tried going all sniper in these games, but frankly I find it boring...there's nothing more fun than running headfirst in to a firefight with a LMG, taking out 3 or 4 guys before you yourself get smoked by the 5th guy on the other team.

It doesn't give you a kill-cam, but it does point you in the right direction.

Yeah, this is me. I loved sniping in MGO, but in this kind of game, I get the most fun out of getting right into the battle.

When I do TDM, it always seems like the other 4 guys on my team are trying to be all strategic and shit, you know, setting up sniping locations, working as a single unit, etc...me, I immediately break away from them in to the opposite direction because chances are that's where the other team is coming in from. The one downfall to not having Wiispeak available for MW is that you can't tell your teammates to get the fuck outta your way, so I try my best to stay entirely away from them the whole match. Those fuckers always get me killed. I can't tell you how many times I'm trading shots with an enemy and I try to find cover inside a building and some dumbass teammate is standing in my way and won't fucking move. Inevitably, I end up walking right in to the entire other team, but that, like I said, is the fun part. Get off a few kills and then get killed yourself. I always end up going like 30-10 or 35-10 or something along those lines in each match.

Yeah, half the time I end up using my stun/flash grenades on teammates who won't get out of the way. A good ole flashbang gets their asses in gear, usually, though. ;)

I am more of a balls out, heading into the firefight and dying shortly after kind of COD player. I usually end up with a Kill:Death ratio of about 1:1, which is good enough for me.

I had one moment that I bet I will never ever match again even if I tried...stumbled upon the entire enemy team, all 5 of them, emptied an entire clip just killing one of them and since I had a LMG, I simply didn't have a chance in hell of reloading and shooting some more, so, while my screen was about as red as it can get before dying, I knifed 3 other guys before the 5th guy finally capped me. I was pretty impressed with myself on that one.

Been playing since its release...currently have a k/d of 1.26 right now...it was above 1.30 until I was trying to finish weapons challenges and ran up against a bunch of good players. I've noticed that I tend to get owned at the beginning levels (starting or after I prestige) and the later levels...but I'm not too bad in between. I'm on 3rd prestige now and trying to get the titles for the P90, ACR, F2000 and AUG HBAR. Favorite weapons are the M4, UMP45, M240 and AK-47(they have the coolest firing sounds IMO), AA-12 and the M93 Raffica. I usually play Mercenary Team Deathmatch with some Free for All thrown in. I love this game even though I get tired of players running around with a freaking care package marker knifing me...then again if you see them early enough they're dead meat cause they don't have time to draw their weapon.

Has anyone ever gotten a nuke?

My highest streak is 14.. it seemed like an impossibility to get even that so I can't even imagine I'd ever get 25 for a nuke.

Apparently there is a patch coming this weekend to fix up some exploits:

* Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized
* Fix for "infinite care package" exploit
* Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry
* Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s
* Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and "elevators"
* Fixes to prevent various XP hacks

So who has downloaded the additional map packs and what do you think?

I came across some extra cash and am thinking about downloading the latest "Resurgence" map pack.

I am not interested in the first "Stimulus" map pack because only 3 of the 5 maps are new, yet they are still charging $15 for it.

$15 is kind of steep even for 5 new maps, but I think I will give the new map pack a chance.

EDIT: after further research, the new map pack only contains 3 new maps as well and 2 are from COD4....

I actually traded-in this game a few months ago. I am eagerly awaiting Black Ops, though.

Yeah, once I hit a certain level in multiplayer, I'm pretty much done with these games. I don't really prestige or anything, so once I hit the top rank, i aim for getting as high a K/D rank as possible. Once it's clear that I've gone as far as I'm gonna go skill-wise, I move on from the games.

I started playing online for the first time in a while last week, and I've just been trying out different weapons/kill streaks and going for upgrades.

Maps that I hate like the Salvage are suddenly fun when using the riot shield, which I think I've gotten pretty good with.

Yeah it seems like the best way to level up and get the most xp possible is to go to the barricks and look at what challenges need to be completed. Sometimes completing the challenges gives you so much XP, not only do you level up, but you end up with so much XP you are more than halfway ready to level up again.

That's the way I go about leveling up. Typically I pick a gun and level it up until I get all of the attachments.

I actually have a different gun linked to all 5 classes so playing with one class all the time doesn't get too stale. I am at level 65 now, and even though I don't play a hell of a lot, I may prestige, just because leveling up all of the guns and getting all of the XP bonuses was what drew me into playing the multiplayer so much in the beginning.

Just checked out a Modern Warfare inspired live action video, where all of the weapons are cardboard cutouts. Pretty solid production given the props that they are using.
