So for unlocking titles, is that tied to certain challenges as well? I know leveling up is tied to XP, same with unlocking guns, and then attachments are linked to kills with that specific gun, but what about titles, and where do I look for a reference on unlocking titles.

I have a fair amount unlocked, but I have prestiged once, and am about halfway to doing it again, and I am trying to work on getting some more titles unlocked.

Most titles are linked with different weapon/perk/equipment specific challenges. Also, different prestige levels unlock the possibility of new titles. Or at least, that's what I've gathered so far

I never owned the first Modern Warfare, however I did have World At War.

Question: Did World At War take a good chunk of potential gamers away from the Modern Warfare online pool of players?

I am not sure if I want Black Ops & Modern Warfare 2 at the same time. I would rather have the one with the most potential for great online play. The single player campaign is fun, but for FPS I am an online player first. Once Black Ops is out is it going to take a significant amount of people from MW 2 or do most people continue to play both?

After watching that preview video, I must say Black Ops multiplayer looks pretty solid, especially some of the new weapons/features.

I think Black Ops will take more people from MW2 than World at War took from MW1.

My roommate can't stop talking about how awesome this is going to be, and he keeps his mouth shut about all his game projects. Apparently the plot is better than MW2 because it has less bullshit.

All of my buddies are high on the MW series, especially MW2, and were skeptical about this one because it's from Treyarch.. but, honestly, as soon as they saw that multiplayer teaser yesterday they all changed their tune and I think at least half of them have preordered today.

I abandoned MW2 early because I felt like it was just too repetitive to be honest. They took forever with the DLC maps, and most were recycled from previous games, and some of the shit like game-ending Nukes really got on my nerves. Thankfully there are no Nukes scheduled for Black Ops! I hope that Treyarch has a good DLC schedule for this game. To be honest, though, I'm just really psyched to use that fucking awesome crossbow or that sweet-ass knife that shoots off of it's handle.

10 days later..

Borrowed a copy of MW2 off of my cousin. Yeah, still kinda bored with it, there's no way I'm paying for that DLC either, but I realized that outside of Borderlands (and maybe Fallout 3) that it was the only FPS I had.. so I'm going to try to put some more hours into it so I am not too rusty when Black Ops comes out. Anyone wants to play on PSN hit me up. :)

I'm seriously thinking about trading in MW2 for Black Ops. Really getting bored with the MW2 multiplayer. Would be nice if similarly skilled players could all be in the same game. Have 3 or 4 assholes killing everyone, all the time is not my idea of a fun time.

Yeah they need to fix their formula for matching players. I'm fine with facing higher levels is my group is also full of higher level guys, but too many times I've been in random games where I get put on a party with a ton of low level non-prestige players while we're facing guys who've prestiged like 10 times themselves.

Zombies period, would be awesome. I really don't see how they leave out Zombie content(whether it is bundled or DLC later on) the Nazi Zombies was immensely popular and is what kept most people who had WAW to keep it in the first place.

I pretty much have no doubt Zombie content will find it's way into Black Ops.

Hell it doesn't even have to be Nazi zombies, either. I'll take any kind of zombies, TBH! :)

Yeah I'll defintely be trading MW2 in for BlackOps. I am also trading in Red Dead & Uncharted 2, so with all that credit, I might be looking to get another game. Initially I was thinking Mario Galaxy 2, but I am too weary of buying an actual GAME game for the Wii due to how fast I lose interest after a week or two.

What else on PS3 is very good - great, right now? Or should I hold on to extra store credit for the holiday rush?

There's apparently a semi-private beta for Black Ops right now. I asked my former roomie for a key (He works for Treyarch), and he said no. Dang.

Since the new Medal of Honor seems to be fairly mediocre, I may pick up Black Ops, but will probably we waiting a while. I need to go through Dead Rising 2, Mario Galaxy 2, and some more NHL 11 before I am ready for a FPS to suck up my gaming time. Hopefully I can find Black Ops a few dollars cheaper around Christmas time.

Surprisingly I haven't seen one posted yet. Take that as you may.

According to metacritic, some French reviewer gave it a 70. I can't read French though, so can't tell you anything about it.

G4tv.com already said that they won't be releasing the review until midnight Eastern. Not that they have the best reviews or anything, but some of them are fairly accurate. Except for the 5/5 for ODST. That was fucking retarded.

The embargo for reviews must be up at midnight tonight.

I don't really have any desire to run out and grab another CoD game, especially since Treyarch is doing it.

I'm in the wait and see boat on this one. Earliest I'll be getting it is Christmas or so, if I do decide to get it.

Everyone I know ran to buy it today...and I got really excited to go and buy it tomorrow...even though I wasn't planning on it. Then I found out that gamefly was shipping it to me...and now I don't have to do anything.

Hooray.

I hope the servers on overdrive tonight. Tired of being talked into getting a midnight release, and then you get home with the game and the servers are all fucked for at least the next 24 hours.

I'm cool with that. I usuaully try to go through a good chunk of single player before I get into the online bits.

Of course, Futureshop had a system error and now they are shipping my copy to the address I just moved out of. I have to go there today and see if my old Super received the package. Brutal.

IGN gave it an 8.5, basically said that it's a blast to play but there are a few bugs that need to get worked out and NPC AI is pretty mediocre. Multiplayer is fun, and there are actually 3 Zombie Nazi modes: Standard defend, one where you take the part of a historical figure (JFK, Nixon, Casto, and McNamara), and a third mode that he didn't talk about because it was an Easter Egg and it had to be seen to be believed.
