What the fuck, dudes?

The Simpsons writer Bill Oakley who was the show runner during Season 7 and 8 said it's not Homer but it sure as shit looks like him.

I knew Apu was announced a while ago but good to see it across the board. I know I had seen statements shows “Big Mouth” and “Central Park” were replacing Jenny Slate and Kristen Bell at the request of the actresses who were voicing characters that were black.

I think the biggest one currently is Cleveland on “Family Guy” is a white actor, so curious if anything happens there.

Mike Henry, the guy who voices Cleveland (and created Kanye West's favorite series The Cleveland Show) tweeted that he wasn't going to voice the character anymore and they were going to recast.

Does this mean "Homerpalooza"* is no longer cannon?

*I somehow still remember reading a Simpsons fan site back in like 2000 at least, and the author considered that episode to be one of the worst in the show's history. His pick for the worst? "A Star Is Burns"**. Oh, how times and a bunch of additional seasons we didn't need change.

**How could anyone hate "A Star is Burns"? That one makes me laugh like an idiot every time.

When I was a kid I thought A Star Is Burns was the funniest episode by far because of the football in the groin. 26 years haven't changed that opinion that much for me.

It seems like any episode that eschews the typical formula in those days would get singled out by critics. It could've been bad, but they ended up making an episode featuring a character from a different show one of the best of the series imo.

I can see why people don't like it (because Critic), but I'm pretty sure every episode from the first 7 or 8 seasons is incredible.

The New Yorker actually got the eternally elusive John Swartzelder to do an e mail interview with them.

Cross post with FOX Network bullshit thread cause they mention he wrote for Women in Prison and Mr. President (two of super obscure shows on FOX during its launch)

I don't like this theory because it doesn't explain why celebrities from the 2000's on show up in Springfield. The theory I believe is that Springfield is inside a time loop, so the rest of the world ages but Springfield doesn't. This allows them to keep up with new trends and celebrities.

The coma theory works slightly for modern celebs if you think the hospital is just running the TV in his room 24/7 and somehow his brain is picking up whatever garbage is on and inserting it into his coma dreams.

20 years only gets us back to season 14 so we'd still need like 4-5 more seasons to go to get back to when it was good. Surely he had other comas/concussions!
