I knew he thought this but seeing it actually start to happen is fucking surreal.
This is the kind of shit people freak out over for no reason. It's just a study.

Big Pharma isn't going to allow a situation where people can't give them their money. There's no situation where Big Pharma will lose their hold on this country. We should all relax.

So my local news covered this as part of their segment 2 non local wrap up. So they mentioned it was a consolidation of power and showed clips of Elon/Trump on Hannity explaining themselves. So it went maybe a min. Then we got a bit about some rapper who beat a felony rap. THEN we closed the segment with the Pope's illness.

I was flabbergasted not only in the "normalization" of the Trump reporting but also how some rapper beat out the Pope on the news worthiness beat.

"He said at an investment conference in Miami that the administration is considering a concept in which 20% of the savings produced by DOGE’s cost-cutting efforts goes to American citizens and another 20% goes to paying down the national debt.

Trump also said the potential for dividend payments would incentivize people to report wasteful spending.

“They’ll be reporting it themselves,” Trump said. “They participate in the process of saving us money.”

Yes... let's have people who know even less about Federal spending programs "report" wasteful spending.

80th Anniversary of Iwo Jima battle today. I was getting teary eyed listening to a local historian interview a vet's grand daughter on his experience in the battle.

Then I started swearing at the Orange piece of shit who wants to help a dictator because either he's compromised or infatuated.

Lots of friends with government jobs received the “tell me five things you did last week” email and all are fearing for their jobs. Two are extremely close to retirement. One is an economist and the other fights forest fires in national parks and such. Many others are not near retirement. One moved to Pittsburgh for her job with the IRS and was fired last week.

that'sa wful but it also hard to take him seriously as a threat re: people's worries of trump staging a coup. Worries about the US not being able to catch terrorist threats? Yeah for sure.

At this point, I'm less fearful of a Trump coup and more afraid of the utter incompetence leading to societal collapse.
That's kind of what I was thinking. Hegseth said the quiet part out loud and I think it's more because they are dumb and less that they are bold.
