The right stick method is a bit tricky because you've got to anticipate his shoot in on you. If you do it too late it doesn't really do much..also I think the strength of each person along with their takedown off/def that determines if you block them or vice versa.
So since my guy's still in create mode, max out my strength then and have no problems with that? I can stand to lose from speed and cardio, since I got those up to 95, so its not too big of a deal if I lower them.
Not necessarily. You still have to be able to rotate the stick well, or tap the buttons fast.
Alright, here's my take on it, and it's explained in the tutorials, but I've seen a lot of people complain about being submitted to quickly/early, and I'm guessing they don't get it. If you rotate the stick, "the shine" as it's being called everywhere, it lowers your chances of actually accomplishing what you're trying to do whether it be submission or takedown whatever. Tapping all 4 buttons rapidly raises the chances. So as geeky as it may seem putting that mathematically, rotating the stick vs pressing the buttons, you have a 25% chance of winning with the stick and a 75% chance of winning by pressing the buttons essentially. The only advantage is that the stick puts you in a better position if you do in fact win. If you're both using the stick, or both tapping the buttons, then it's 50/50 and stats play the largest part (as well as how fast you tap/rotate)
Don't know how well I explained that, but in short, it's much better/far more successful to just tap the buttons. It's just that I've seen people use Lesnar, and try rotating the stick to get out of a submission, and then are mad when they're submitted in the first 2 minutes of the match. In the above case, you shouldn't be rotating the stick if your guy has say 45 takedown offense, and you're facing a guy with 90 takedown defense. If the stats are vice versa, then that 25% chance goes up so then it's ok to use it. (Although I personally still use the buttons because why not take the raised 75, over the raised 25?)
And yea, that was a mini rant, but I'm going crazy not being able play myself
, or at least on my own console. Damn Microsoft needs to hurry up. But hopefully that proves helpful, and explain a little better the tapping/rotating dynamic.
