That's okay. Kampmann is my white whale. I cannot beat him again no matter what I do. I destroyed him in less than a round in our first fight and now he's an unstoppable BJJ master. He passes my guard at will and taps me with full stamina with kimuras and kneebars. I've hit him with every combo I can think of and his only response is to grab me, throw me on the ground and submit me. He's like Fedor.

I had a little two match series as Brock Lesnar vs someone's Fedor create a fighter. He tapped me in the second round our first fight, and in the second fight I hit a one punch knockout about 20 seconds into the fight. Anyone else playing on ps3?

My CAF that I first created for the Lightweight league we were planning on isn't too great. He's pretty much average along the board, with strong striking skills. My career ended in Year 8, and thought I think it was short, I had felt like I did well.

Career: 28-9, 26KOs, 2 Decisions, Lightweight Champion (2 defenses). Had 3 KOs of the Night, 2 Fights of the Night.

Sadly, my created self didn't do well enough that I managed to get into UFC's HOF. He's overal 75, best skills are in offensive striking, though he's probably about the most well rounded character out there, considering I killed his career short by taking too many of Dana's "oh can you fill in for me".

My favorite match, was actually the only time I've done a series of 3 matches. I had my best matches against Frank Edgar. He beat me the first time by a submission in the first round cause I went for a ground and pound and he triangle choked me. Was pissed so went for the rematch in which was probably the only time I wish there was an instant replay of matches. Both mine and his face were busted up, there was 17 different times we went for submissions and nearly ended the match, and the amazing thing is neither of us were winded. It was the first time I went to decision, and I was pissed because I lost and then I won. Which made me happy.

So of course, I decided that I wanted to go back for one more. And I nearly ended up with my second match that went to a decision but with 10 seconds left in the third round, I KO'd Edgar after I managed to escape a submission and we both just got it. Won me my first KO of the Night, cause it was so pretty.

The only thing I don't like about my lightweight is that he's not very good at the submission game. Of my 9 losses, 2KOs, but the rest are submissions.

30-6 with my LHW fighter.
2x UFC LHW Champion (with a year long reign)
2 Fights of the Night
7 KOs of the Night
1 Submission of the Night

Maxed out Kickboxing / Lvl 3 Judo

Ended on a 10+ fight win streak.

HoF worthy? Apparently not..

He's a 94 overall, however.

Yeah, because I took all those matches Dana gave me, I lost my rights to be a good fighter. My guy's a 74 overall.

Yeah, I won 28 with a 74 overall. I was shocked too.

He really does his best to try and make you stumble with all these sudden matches he springs on you. On my next play through in another weight class, I'm going to tell him to fuck himself and not take as many promo ups and just train like a beast.

Very rarely are the last minute matches harder than who you're already slotted to face, and the Cred bump is useful.

So my CAF avatar has just started the last year of his career, and is already at an overall rating of 95 (comparatively, BJ is 94 at LW). Would it be in bad taste to build him up even more at this point, to the point where my using him in possible future tournaments would be deemed cheap?

Wow. I just earned KO of the Night on my very first fight in career mode. (Well, second I guess, since the first fight is the one in the gym)

I swear, Mark Coleman can't lose in this game. He seems to win on every PPV.

That was weird. My second contest with my new Russian fighter, we went to a draw going 28 - 28, 29 - 28, 28 - 28.

What bugs me is that it asks for your age, it'll show what year your in in career, but no one fucking ages. I guess that's so the roster doesn't deplete into no ones.

My middleweight French-Canadian retired 36-3, 1 title reign (got it in year 2 and held onto it the rest of the way). He also had 5 fight of the nights (3 with Hendo) and a bunch of KO's of the night. 87 overall and in the UFC HOF. What was sweet was that my first loss was to Leites and that was my final match where I finally avenged it and KO'd him in the 4th.

What I'm interested in is who in your career mode has gone on huge runs of dominance? Ben Saunders had like a 3 year title reign and his record before I retired was 23-2-1. It also seems that Brock ends up being very lucky to even have a .500 record in a lot of peoples career modes.

I think next I'm gonna create a short lazy overweight Japanese heavy.

I have decent strength and submission skills, but I can't even make Dan Henderson or Okami tap in career mode. I've let the fights go 5 rounds, got their stamina down to a sliver of red, but never once made it to the second stage of a submission hold via button pressing or furious stick twirling. I've submitted the CPU on Advanced with freakin' Chuck Liddell, but I can't do this? Nonsense. I just want the Submission of the Night award for the achievement.

And holy fucking fuck.... HSJ has the achievement for winning 30 ranked fights. I haven't even done any ranked fights. I'm currently 7-5-1 with my now 60 overall CAF, in player matches. I'm midway through year 4 in my career. I've been playing a lot; am I really that far behind everyone else? I only have 5 hours of Octagon time in career, but that only counts actual fights and not training/sparring (LOADING... grr). I'm 21-0, having held the middleweight belt for about 3 years, with 11 defenses.

I haven't touched career mode yet. Most of the achievements involve ranked matches, so thats where I be.

I started a lightheavy career, got fight of the night and KO bonus in my first fight, went on a nice little win streak while I built my guy up a little, told Dana White to go fuck himself when he sprung a fight on me with 2 weeks notice, started training with BJ Penn's camp, then got KTFO twice by fucking Kaz Nakamura. I'm done with that career, fuck it.

I'm in the midst of a 6 fight winning streak (including finally knocking Okami on his ass) and just won the Middleweight title from Ricardo Almeida in my final year of my career. I'm 24-10 with every single win coming by KO or TKO. I basically said fuck the ground game and try to keep every fight to stand up.

I fought Anderson Silva again in career and, while he beat me up with the clinch, I reversed his clinch strikes a few times and KO'd him in round 3.

I was worried that I had messed up in the beginning, but my guy seems to be on the right track. 23-0 with 13 consecutive title defenses and an overall ranking of 68 at the beginning of year 5. I should be able to get to a 90 at this rate. But all 23 career victories are via knockout. Button mashing or stick twirling (both super fast) doesn't work at all in career, but often in exhibition. Garr.

I rarely use mics when playing with randoms, except in team based games.

KOAB, you're tied to a set weight for each class. It sucks, I know. Also, the whole reason Guida isn't in the game to begin with is because they supposedly had issues rendering his hair. Not that that stopped them from putting shitty hair in all the Smackdown games.

Haha, there's nothing like beating a 14 year old on Madden while he's asking me if I'm a African-American person and then he quits at halftime.

THQ/Yukes still can't get hair down? Man, I also liked how they got lazy with some guys bodies... like how Cro Cop is a pasty Hulk Hogan in this game.

I get called a African-American person on Xbox Live often. Apparently, I sound like a middle aged black man...

And that was the reason I read, yes. I haven't played with or against Cro Cop yet.

I completely brutalized Cro Cop with Kongo. The only time I've had a knockout punch and then landed a follow up with the other hand, which twisted his neck in the other direction while he was unconsciously half way towards crashing to the mat. It was fucking sick.

One thing this game is missing is the ability to save clips or watch replays of your fights. That's pretty standard in games now.

Just got this yesterday and started playing with it today. Took Mac Danzig in my first exhibition and KOd Joe Lauzon in the 3rd. Then took Brock Lesnar in another exhibition and toyed with Kongo for four minutes before getting the tap.

Went into career mode after that where I've promptly started out 0-6. I usually win the first round and get caught with the flash KO in the 2nd. And by flash KO, I mean I dominated the first 45 seconds, caught one elbow, and the fight was immediately stopped.

So yeah, my CAF sucks.

If you're dominating the first 45 seconds, you probably tired yourself out. Then you stagger around like Sylvia before getting one hit KO'd.

I could probably get more KO's in career mode if I spammed the strong punches/kicks, but I'd rather play properly if I'm going to play online. In career, I could always get a head kick off while both fighters scrambled to their feet or I disengaged from the ground and stood back up.

Fuck that, video game offense for me all day. I'm still pissed my Spinning Backfist followed by Superman Punch on Franklin didn't get KO of the night.
