I picked up the game today @ Best Buy. I must have been one of the first people to buy it as they had a bunch of copies and the girl at the register seemed shocked at my haul of free goods. That really is a fucking sweet deal, I grabbed the Ultimate Knockouts 6 DVD and will eventually put my $10 gift card towards another game or DVD.
Haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I'll probably give it a quick run through on easy before I go to bed tonight.
I see most of y'all play on XBox, but if anyone here has PS3 I'd be down for some online matches at some point

Good game BPS. I'm out in the first round myself...Got subbed in Rd 3.
I may set up another one later tonight...the only person in this tournament I don't know is in the final first round match. We'll see how it goes.

Well, I had never seen Best Buy sell out of a game in 24 years of life. But it turned out GS had many copies with the extra fighters, proving pre-orders are wholly unnecessary.

not entirely true, Matt. The extra copies are based off of a percentage of the reserve alotment set aside for that store. Take mine for instance, we got in 10 "walk in" copies of UFC for 360 and only 4 for the ps3.

I didn't even realize it until someone on another board mentioned it, but every moveset in the game is identical between each character of the same style. So despite having only played the demo, I've already experienced a full 2/3 of the the techniques in the game.
I'm a good deal less stoked now for the game to arrive now.

If you play around a lot with different fighters, you barely notice the same movesets.
I've gone 5-3 online using Sherk. One loss came when someone with a record of 1-0 destroyed me with BJ and the other two losses came with flash KO's in the third round when I was taking the Unanimous Decision. Damn my stubborness to use a real life Sherk.

Yea, even if they do have the same movesets, because of people's stats, you play completely different. you're not going to ground and pound with someone with weak ground striking. (At least you shouldn't) so you use different moves.
And on that note, either I'm getting really good, or Diego is just a beast. Just got the 10 win streak earlier today, with a record of like 12-1. The one loss coming off a fight I dominated, but got caught with a counter knee when I went for the takedown and was flash KO'd. In short, I've been beasting online, and hopefully I can keep it up. Don't yet know if I'm just really good, or everyone doesn't have a good feel for the game yet, so I'm above average.

While I don't mind the shared movesets so much (an armbar is an armbar is an armbar), I'm more disappointed by the fact that this means that there's probably not a ton more submissions in the game. There's already a huge crossover between the wrestling & BJJ sets (Shogun only gets triangles & a N/S choke for his own), so that means that there's tons of submissions likely omitted: arm-triangle, D'Arce, gator roll, omo-plata, straight armbar, keylock, straight footlock, heel hook, calf slicer, etc.

Give 'em time Tong, the fact they were able to get this game out and have it actually play well is a testament to the team.
If there's another one next year, I'm sure more moves will be put in and a more robust fighting/submission system could get included.

Played this with some friends yesterday, it's a lot of fun. Subs seem to be only way I can win and my friends can only win by KO against me. Speaking of that, flash KO's are quite frustrating. I can take full on shots sometimes yet with a full block I get KO'd.

Man, this is bullshit, I've just had 3 matches where 3 different opponents all quit after getting beat. And all three are chalked up as "Invalid". They should have had the autosave pop up as soon as the knockout occurred to prevent this. It's really pissing me off as at this rate, I'll never get to 100 wins.
Last guy had a 17 consecutive win streak, and I see why.

The lag is starting to annoy me too. I was playing Broward earlier and our matches ranged from little lag to the game freezing for periods of time. I also learned that I still really suck at the ground game.

I know, right? The striking one was so easy. I can get submissions, but how do I weaken them with no strikes?
How far are you guys in your careers? I ask because my friend I played against was like 24-8 earlier. I just went to 10-0 with a 28 second KO at UFC 117 (December 2010) over Dan Henderson to become UFC Middleweight Champion. Still, I'm only rated 40 overall.
I'm trying to get through this ASAP so I can have a skilled fighter for the multiple leagues I'm in. I'll be doing the EHME career after this one. Any weight class but middleweight.
EDIT: I forgot- I earned my first Fight of the Night award for that 28 second KO, LOL.

I think you're going to have to take someone down and just constantly switch positions on them. Wear them out that way.
