The career mode changes don't seem drastic enough, IMO. Just some bells & whistles stuff.

I'm with Tong, fuck the god-damned shine. I refuse to fucking wear out a damned controller due to playing UFC day in and day out.

Oh..I only assume we're going to have a TRTSM fight camp for this, right Tong?

Well, I've already got about 10-15 bucks down on my copy at work..so I know I'll be picking it up. Hopfully you can get a copy and a few of the other MMA/Video Game junkies can get one and we'll be able to do another tournament (that actually finishes this time!) and do the whole fight camp.

No Matt Young's though...he'll just trade our training secrets for stuff over at CheapAssGamer..

Supposedly there will be 200 moves to select and learn from over the course of your career. I like the new fighting stances of selecting orthodox and southpaw and which is your power hand/foot. You can actually use the cage more this time around in the clinch/takedowns.

I think I'm gonna create a Karate/Greco-Roman Wrestling style fighter and just use my fight camps to max out the Anaconda choke and Toe Holds. I will also do nothing but talk shit about Keith Jardine in my career mode and start up a feud with Jackson's camp.

I'll probably just make Volk Han & Kopylov. I hope they have a balding hair style. Oh, and the Tkeshelashvili brothers.

KOBA GROM!
ZAZA GROM!

EDIT- The developers have said that the calculations used for submission success has been tweaked, which will hopefully lead to submissions not based simply on beating a guy within an inch of a life before cranking something. He also hinted at a new flash submission system, and I've seen rumours about submission chains (armbar-to-kneebar-to-heel-hook FTW).

I hope they do not rest until you can hit a flying armbar.

EDIT: Apparently you already can. Guess I didn't fuck around enough with submissions and focused on striking.

The "tweaking" I've heard is in regards to power guys (ala your Lesnar's and Sherk's) not being able to simply power out of a submission against a highly rated submission guy with the greatest of ease like last year. The game will go off of your sub defense and your stamina/energy..whichever is higher at the time. So, if its fairly early on in a match the game will check against your stam/energy which will give you a better shot at getting out..but as the fight goes on and it drops and you're left with a piss poor sub def rating, you're going to tap like Gregory Hines.

Old ESPN interview (by old I mean, early this month):
http://sports.espn.go.com/videogames/news/story?id=4897926

"Robinson: One of my biggest dislikes about the first game is the submission system. How has that changed for "UFC Undisputed 2010?"

Dravinski: Submissions have been changed from multiple perspectives. We have a much more visual representation of the submissions this year. Last year you were in these static states where you went from one state to the other, but this year you actually see visual representation of the submission. You see the win/loss scenario. For example, during a Kimura, the arm is actually moving back in the correct position where you see that's going to hurt. The camera is moving in and out depending on the win/loss, so if the guy is winning the submission battle, the camera is moving closer, but if he's losing, the camera is moving out. So you're finally getting these really cool visual representations of the submissions.

We also did away with the button-mashing submission escape. For submission escape now, we call it "the shine." This is our unofficial term for rotating the right stick. We call it "the shine" because it has that visual aspect to it. But we feel this is an iconic part of our game play, and we've embraced it. I think it's going to be very easy for people to know that this is the only thing you can do to escape. You better shine for your life or you're out. "

I hated being in a GnP position only for my opponent to keep going for repeated sub attempts from an awful angle before I could even throw shot. Once you shook them off they could try again instantly.

They announced the first Gamestop exclusive fighter if you preorder and it's... James McSweeney!

Everyone don't run out and pre-order at once... we don't want Gamestop's phones exploding.

Also... it's Sexyama time.

You know, I saw the marketing for this at work..the whole "Four exclusive fighters for pre-order" and couldn't think of who they'd be.

Glad Sexyama is in the game but am saddened that there will more than likely be no epic intro

"We’ve kept the bread and butter subs that you know and love from last year’s Undisputed, but we’ve added some great variations and new options for those who want to use them. We saw a ton of people asking for the full Omoplata submission in 2010, which you’ll now be able to execute in the virtual octagon. Even the rare and elusive Gogoplata is making its Undisputed 2010 debut. Nothing spells ‘awesome’ like an shoulder lock to submission, right?

We’ve also added the Americana, D’Arce (think Thiago vs Swick in UFC 109), Peruvian Necktie, Achilles lock, Ankle Lock, Heel Hook, Arm Triangle, and tons of leg locks, just to name a few. You’ll even see some Ultimate fighters breaking out their signature subs on the mat, like BJ Penn’s rear naked choke by way of arm trap (think UFC 101 and his submission of Kenny Florian)."

I really think this game is going to make a quantum leap forward this year.
