I wanted my fighter to be big and mean looking, but also to be a flamboyant homosexual. Unfortunately, I douln't give him pink trunks, and since you can't bring fighters who have text tatoos online, there's no "YAY ANAL" tramp stamp like I had planned.

Well, stuff like I had planned is exactly why they don't allow it online.

LOL I had my first one hit KO fight last night as I hit a spinning back elbow with Chuck on Rashad as my brother was going for a retarded lunging hook. Total fight time was 14 seconds. LULZ ensued as we watched the replay over and over.

Boxing/BJJ is absolutely the best combination of styles in the game. It gives you virtual ground invincibility if you know what you're doing, and it gives you brutal ground and pound. Hold down LB and do a major transition while on your back from side control or half guard and you can sweep to the same position with you on offense. I'm no good at timing reversals, but I am very good at sweeping.

Wario Lemieux's preferred fighters for weight class:

Heavyweight: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
-You can go with Arlovski here (he hits harder), but I like Nog because he can slam to side control out of the clinch, whereas the other BJJers can only pull guard.

Light Heavyweight/Middleweight: Michael Bisping
-He pulls guard like everyone else, but he makes up for it by being one of the only boxers with head kicks, and the only boxer that can do head kicks with both legs. Josh Koscheck and Rashad Evans can do head kicks with their strong leg only.

Welterweight: BJ Penn if you want to be a fag, otherwise Matt Serra
-Penn has the best standing strike rating in the game. Nobody knows why. He has a good stick-and-move jab that nobody else can do.Matt Serra is BJ Lite.

Lightweight: See Welterweight, but with the addition of Joe Stevenson
-Stevenson has an iron chin, and brutal submissions. If you want to really focus on submissions and can't be bothered with ground and pound, Nate Diaz is a fine choice that lets you keep distance with his reach before using his 90 submission offense to finish them off.

I prefer boxing to kickboxing because I think the ducking hook is a superior weapon to the Superman punch, since it's less telegraphed and the timing of it throws people off.

BJJ is cheap in that game. You can get a take down and go for an immediate stand up and you'll get jited on your back in zero seconds flat.

You got the stamina meters on? You might have been gassed.

I always play without them, although I mainly play single player. It adds a little difficulty with the bonus of not having big bars at the bottom of the screen.

Even without being gassed, you can get KO'd with one shot. It's realistic.

http://community.ufcundisputed.com/blog-post/patch-update

What’s up guys, Neven here with an update on the patch for UFC 2009: Undisputed.

I want to thank all of you for the support in making UFC 2009: Undisputed such an amazing success. That being said I want to you to know we’ve been working hard on fixing some of the issues found in the online experience. Hit the jump for the list of fixes.

1. We recognize premature match quitting as the biggest online issue and have taken steps to fix it. The Patch will have integrated code that detects who pulls the cable and will assign a Loss as well as a Did Not Finish to that player. The DNF is only counted for the player who executes the disconnection. The DNF rate will be displayed on the fighter selection screen of the Online Ranked Match. When disconnected the Winning Streak is also reset to 0.

2. We’ve adjusted Ranked Matches to match up players with better connections, which will improve lag issues we’ve seen to date.

3. We’ve adjusted the difficulty of performing submissions against AI opponents to improve the balance of subs vs. striking when playing against the AI.

4. We’ve adjusted the Flash KO rate so that they are less frequent.

5. We’ve increased maximum number of points awarded in online play from 99,999 to 999,999 and we’ve increased the Max Level from 100 to 200.

6. We’ve lowered the Winning Streak Bonus Max from 5 to 3.

7. We’ve removed the decimal places on the Leaderboard Winning Percentage so we only show whole percentages.

8. We’ve addressed the CAF cheat so the skill levels in CAF cannot be cheated and increased. Also any CAF with unfair point values will no longer be able to be used Online.

9. For PS3 users we’ve also fixed a bug that causes a freeze during auto-save; whichever controller was used to Press Start on the Title Screen will be identified as the main controller.

Rest assured our entire team plays A LOT of online matches and we read the boards every day, so we are well aware of the issues. We want to make sure we patch this correctly so it is taking a bit of time, but I can confidently say we’ll be releasing this patch soon.

Stay tuned and thanks again for your support.

Sincerely,
Neven Dravinski, UFC Producer

Man, I finally avenged my loss against Matt F'N Hughes. Bastard managed to quick sub me. Worked my way back to a re-match against him after beating up some schmoe inbetween. Went for only two rounds, but my God did we slug and trade momentum back and forth. Just after he tried submitting me again, I managed to break free and then I stalked him before knocking him out so satisfingly to regain my title and retire back on top.

After ending the Welterweight divison run, I decided to run a Heavyweight division career. I managed to get through my first 7 matches, but now I've gotten into a fight that I'm totally sure I'm going to get smoked, since my defenses are weak (30s) and I get to face the #4 ranked Minotauro.

God I'm so fucked aren't I?

Just don't let the man ever get the chance to sub you and you got a shot

So basically I should keep it standing up? Alright.

Also, I tried to do this realistic so my reach is only 75" and I'm 6'0" (because 5'11 isn't allowed). So I'm behind in reach. Should I try keeping him at bay with kicks and then when he tries getting closer to smack his face? Because I'm quite sure he's got a reach advantage on me as well.

so any chance for another tournament in a different weight class? (Not sure how well the first one went) Wasn't able to take part in the first one because of the RROD, but my Xbox and I'm down for a tourney, or at least a series of matches where 4 out of 5 opponents won't quit.

I would totally be down for doing a created characters tournament. I've got characters in Lightweight, Welterweight and Heavyweight all ready to go.

I have a middleweight and a heavyweight. I finished the MW career in 12 days. The HW career has taken a lot longer due to the newness of the game wearing off, and me playing other things, but dude's in the 80's, 5 and 1/2 years into the career. He's usable. Also, he's a big gay black, blonde Swedish man.

The patch was released yesterday. The lag is just about gone and it's nice to see the percentage of DNFs. I still got my ass handed to me by a level 75 fighter and haven't tried to see if it's easier to sub the CPU, but it's nice to see some of the kinks ironed out of the game.

After the patch, someone quit on me, and it still didn't give me the win (I don't believe). So they didn't fix that...

Perhaps its time to set back into the OCTAGON!

*plays for the first time since patch*

HOLY SHIT I can tap the computer on Expert now! I also got the "World Class Grappler" achievement on Beginner in less than a minute using a guy with a 71 submission offense.

Now I can do a third career and win submission of the night to complete my trophy case.

After 90 days. Not sure how much they'll cost.

OK, so I'm not a big UFC fan or anything, but I downloaded the PS3 demo for kicks. I have to admit, I like beating the hell out of Rua with Liddell a lot. Is this game a bit deeper than the demo lets on, though? I'm assuming you can do more with other fighter types, etc.

Basically I'm asking if this game is worth getting if you're only a casual UFC fan?
