Given the nature of this thread, for a split second I thought that said Tony Atlas Shrugged.

Can't wait for women who love rape and hour-long monologues! God, I fucking hate Ayn Rand, and this movie looks like it'll be infinitely worse than the book.

Even better. It's only Part 1.

Aye, although I really like it as a concept, a clumsy vehicle for trying to get her philosophy across, it's not really a very good BOOK exactly. As has also been mentioned, the giant radio speech is going to be really telling. The trailer really made me groan until I saw it was only part 1... hoo boy.

Although, to be fair, there was a lot more actual rape in The Fountainhead than in Atas Shrugged. ;D

It's at like 50% on RT, which is higher than I thought it'd be. Prarie Miller (who preferred "Chain Letter" to "The Social Network") liked it too. Still, the fact that this could be one of the better reviewed WWE movies amuses me for some reason.

It was made by a real director (also did Mr. Holland's Opus), so I'm not too surprised

I'm pumped

There has to be a day where I can do a double feature of Black River/River of Darkness through Netflix hopefully. Now some hack mark just has to come up with some other stupid zany dark thriller premise that has River in the title, casting a mix of TNA guys and washed up WCW names it and we could have an unofficial trilogy of sucktatude from wrasslers with essentially the same setup structure to each.

I met Dirk Benedict at a Convention way back in 1998 and all I could say was...BODY SLAM

Turns out he's really happy with that film and had a ball making it.

Yeah, he even did an interview with some wrestling website (Slam Wrestling maybe?) talking about how much he enjoyed doing that film. I was mildly surprised that a celebrity, no matter how washed up, would do an interview for a wrestling site so he must think it's a lost classic. Or a lot of time between The A-Team retrospectives and bitching about how liberal feminists ruined the Battlestar Galactica remake.

Ah! Found it!

Also - I'm not sure if Giant Bernard / A-Train is actually in that Atlas Shrugged movie. Val Venis posted something to his twitter saying that Train had finally made it to the big screen - and to go to his site to see the trailer for the movie. The only trailer there was for Atlas Shrugged (Val is also a big Libertarian) so who knows.

What I do know is that Train is DEFINITELY in this movie:

http://www.facebook.com/#!/TheCommuteMovie?sk=wall

Ride with family man Giant Bernard (Matthew Bloom) on his monthly 12,000 mile commute from the USA to his pro wrestling job in Japan. Revealing 12-minute musical portrait of a man torn between two worlds.

Netflix thinks I'll like the Chaperone to the tune of a 4.5 star prediction. I don't know if I have the stomach to prove them wrong...but I don't like what it says about me that they think this.
