I got to say I discovered Conrad's podcasts are uploaded on YouTube and they're a 1000x more listenable since they're presented with limited ad interruptions.

@BruiserBrody drags me very slowly and painlessly on his motorcycle since he brought this up months ago.

Oh yeah, I've been keeping up with Foley through Youtube because actually listening to it on any service sounds miserable. The ads are bad enough on Youtube.

Foley is Pod today is on his aborted 2012 comeback. Now this is the type of weird topic I get excited for. Especially since Foley can't just repeat stories from his books.

Yeah I had completely forgotten about Foley's 2012 run. Pretty sure he was supposed to do something at Survivor Series that year against Punk (traditional SS match I think).

Yeah looking it up Foley just managed his team instead of wrestling and somehow was feuding with Ziggler which I have zero memory of

And then the weird program with Ambrose that was aborted because Mick couldn't get cleared by the doctors

I think they pivoted from Punk to Ziggler for that Survivor Series match when Foley couldn't get cleared medically. Incidentally, Survivor Series 2012 was when The Shield debuted. If Foley had been medically cleared, I assume Ambrose would have debuted as a solo act.

Was Punk supposed to lose the title to Ryback at some point too but they just kind of forgot about it when RybackMania didn't catch on? Length of CM Punk's 2011-13 title reign didn't feel intentional

Foley's is interesting this week, but the weirdest part is how he just totally shuts down the conversation on Ryback. Like literally refused to talk about him when asked.

I had no idea who that was until just now. Somehow missed that shitshow.

But with Ryback, they talk about him being over and how he maybe could've gone over Punk. Conrad talks about how yeah he's an asshole but he's also got a great look and if Foley thinks he could come back and be a big star or something. Foley flat out says he wants to "get away from Ryback" and goes back on topic. It was weird. Give me fresh Ryback shit talk over Mero coming up repeatedly.

A bit surprised that Sean Oliver chose the week after Nash's kid died to do a fan question about "Fuck, Marry, Kill" with the rest of the Kliq.
The thought of losing another friend quickly obviously shook Nash a bit and the podcast ended on a sour note.
Nash sung the tune to "A Muppet Show" to explain how he was acting upbeat for the camera, but he's torn up inside at every moment.

Besides the Benoit familicide, I'd honestly rather hear about pretty much anything wrestling related than Montreal Screwjob. I'm way more interested in hearing last week's STWW on Cyber Sunday 2007 (a show I couldn't name a match off of if you offered me $10 to name one) than another rehash of what really happened in Montreal on 11-9-1997.

The Benoit stuff is fascinating if you hear about it from non-wrestling media. True crime coverage on it is very interesting if only to see what isn't talked about on both sides. But you're never going to hear a true prime podcaster or content creator have 20 minute discourses about who should be in a hall of fame or where they were when the dogs were enclosed by the pool and how out of character it was.

If he does into what he kind of touched on in his book about how Bret wanted to drop the belt to him, Austin, or Shamrock instead of to Shawn, then I'd be curious. I get the feeling that my typing that sentence is all we'll get just because it's all he wrote.

However him talking about the actual card and delving into the Kane match could be fun. I was so psyched for that Kane match at the time, too.

If it's about the card/his match and the WWF landscape in November '97 as a whole, it could be a really good podcast.

I don't think Foley gets enough credit for making Kane. As a mark, it was the wrestling equivalent of Ivan Drago killing Apollo Creed! "OMG! Kane destroyed Mankind, the guy who beat The Undertaker! How the heck is Undertaker going to beat Kane!?"

Foley's was much more interesting than I expected while still not being terribly groundbreaking. By far what I found most interesting was the bit near the end where he talks about unionization and how Bischoff seems to have gotten him thinking about how it isn't a good idea.

Tomorrow's 83 Weeks is on the No Limit Soldiers.

Dammit...I'm back in!

Spoiler alert: 90 minutes of Bischoff trashing Dave and Keller not understanding the impact Master P had and how he would bring in more viewers.

It was interesting hearing Mick Foley talk about how Eric Bischoff might be right when it comes to how unions would "kill the indies" and things like that. How indie workers would be scabs, how no one could be brought in from overseas without insane red tape, all these things that I would never in a million years see Foley taking seriously coming from Bisch.

Foley's all about getting everyone in SAG though which I used to think was absolutely what should happen.

Freddie Prinze Jr has talked about it before. Gateway to wrestlers joining SAG should absolutely be easier but Idk if there would be blowback from wrestlers doing non union shows?

I'm not sure how it would work now or what would actually qualify just because I don't know enough about the modern landscape of streaming and unions. The argument Foley said he was told by his agent about why SAG doesn't happen was something to the effect of there not being enough wrestlers consistently featured on TV enough to make it seem worthwhile, and that actually makes sense to me as far as excuses go.
