Kamala, you've been pretty radio silent on Papa Jeff lately.
Well there have been a lot of compilation episodes lately cause his dad died, you insensitive jerk!!!

(honestly after the first 3 months or so, I have gone to listening to once maybe every 3-4 episodes. I listen to it more than any of the other AFS podcasts except maybe JR’s but it’s fairly fair out my weekly rotation.)

Lots of LOLs for me in this 2 mins.
"I was making 35K a month" - Not in the AWA, main event tag team or not. Verne wouldn't even promise long time top guy Brunzell 90K a YEAR in 85 when Brunzell tried to convince Verne to keep him from jumping to the WWF.
"My lawyer was always late to court" - Saito and Ken were literally sitting in the yard of the court drinking beer during the trial.
Plus he complains about getting 2 years in jail. He never seems to remember a female officer was brutalized by he and Saito. Broken legs, etc.

Patera was in the WWF when the trial started and had feuded with Andre as well as had shots against Hogan, so the amount is probably high but not ridiculously so.

On his show Nash recalled meeting John Candy in the wwf at a show in LA. Nash started around June 93 and Candy died in March 94 so it's possible but I wonder if it was actually in wcw because I think wcw had shows at the forum in the early 90s

WWF barely ever ran the Forum but had a few house shows there in '94.

Could've been this. Two months before Candy's untimely demise. A '94 Backlund Vs IRS match seems like it'd be a homeopathic sedative.

Or this.

Or it could've been one of the '91-'92 WCW house shows like you said.

Odd to see the 605 podcast is still doing decent since it has been largely defunct for several years, minus a few specials.

In like a 2 min period yesterday Nash went from discussing stand up comics, porn stars and landed on Critical race theory. Upon CRT being mentioned, Oliver shot to attention, probably preparing to guide this discussion carefully.

Erik Watts last week now Fidel Sierra? Bumps & Thumps is crushing it with peripheral WCW talent lately. We can’t be too far from a Rochester Roadblock interview hopefully.

I would enjoy his version of the night he jumped the rails at a WWF show in 1987 and shot on One Man Gang before a match with Hogan. That was his plan to get a WWF gig.
I actually can recall reading Rochester Road Block results in the late 80s indys in the Apters.

Nash pod subject "Wrestlemania Memories"

Nash "Talking about Wrestlemania is a bummer" He was there when business was shit, so Mania was the only decent pay day all year. 250K for his Shawn match and 275 for the Taker match. They get sidebarred by Gary Hart's kid texting Sean. Oliver goes back to the subject and Nash moans about it, so Oliver moves along to other things.
Nash said the closest thing he had to a good Mania was when the nWo ran in for HHH vs Sting.
He has no loyalty to the WWF. HHH yes. Not Vince. Not only did Nash jump to WCW, but later he left WWE again and went to TNA when he was not happy with his WWE booking.
--
Vince spent 45 mins trying to convince Kevin to box Mike Tyson in 1995. Nash said he demanded millions because Tyson would batter him and possibly kill him. At the end of the discussion Vince tells Kev "You're losing the belt to Bret".

$250K even in 1995 sounds pretty low for a WM main event (yes, I know LT/Bammer was the actual main). Business really must have been shit that year. Low card guys make at least $1M at the Saudi shows.

Dude it'll be all Jesus this and foggy memories that. Dibiase is shockingly boring considering what he's done.

Yeah. DiBiase has got to be high up there for most entertaining performer with least interesting IRL personality. I won’t be listening. Unless he gives me a fat wad of cash. HAHAHAHAHAHA

The podcast would probably cut off thirty seconds before the amount of time you had to listen in order to get the money…

At least get Rotunda to be on with him. I dunno. Any peer to keep him interesting. Get Duggan.

I am surprised Duggan hasn’t had a stand alone podcast. I know he was weirdly co-host on Sean Mooney’s podcast for a while and filled in for Jake Roberts’ at least once but he seems perfect for a stand alone AFS show. He seems like he strikes a good balance between being a straight shooter and company guy. Hooooooo!

Love Duggan. Both times I met him he was amazing. But that Mooney Pod was Duggan largely having the same 3 stories/jokes each week IIRC. Maybe with a different host to focus him it would work? Otherwise we are getting HOOOOOO, Tough Guy, Giant juice, USA!
Hacksaw was actually in Green Bay at a indy during the pod's run and talked about the show I was at. (The ceiling was so low that Duggan knocked out the tile when he raised his 2x4)

My only time meeting Duggan was at a Border City Wrestling show… tried getting a USA chant started, and the crowd chanted “CAN-NAH-DA!” back at him. He went along with it, and started chanting CANADA instead. He told me, and a buddy after the show that he’d just lost track of where he was.
