Usually if I'm lucky I'll get to download one CAW before I'm completely unable to access Community Creations again. I haven't tried uploading at all. It's ridiculous that it's taking them so long to sort out something that should be pretty basic.

For matches, yeah. But the Creations server stability has never been like this in my experience. I don't know how you can fuck up something as simple as a read/write database - especially when it's the exact same thing you had working flawlessly the year previous.

Well in 2011, i often had problems with "cannot connect to the server" when trying to download some caws. I was just glad to have a MITB Cm Punk to play about with in that game.

Ive said it before and ill say it again, its going to take a BIG update to wwe 13 for me to even consider buying it, because there isnt much else they can do to the game to make it worth buying.

I still wish that they'd make the "main" game every 2 years, instead. Use another "stylized" franchise like All Stars for the off-year and it'd be a nice variety and they'd actually have some real development time to get their shit together.

I actually wouldn't be surprised to see that shit happen given the problems that THQ has been having lately. Though, those problems could also lead to them losing the license.

I kinda hope they do lose the license, if only so another developer could sign up with Aki and produce a game worth playing again.

I would love to see what another dev would do with the license. Surely the "too arcadey" complaints that have been made forever about this series is a known thing in the industry. It'd be a good opportunity for another to position themselves as actually giving the fans what they want.

Who that dev would be, aside from the remnants of AKI (now known as Syn Sophia, I am not sure.

EDIT: Actually, AKI/Syn is a distinct possibility, assuming that THQ losing publishing rights is connected to Yukes' rights to develop. I wonder who the publisher would be if AKI/Syn were to develop? EA? Atlus? Can you imagine seeing the Square Enix logo as publisher on a WWE game?

On second thought, looking at AKI's recent titles, maybe they wouldn't be so likely to develop a wrestling game these days, lol:

2011 - Pretty Rhythm Mini Skirt (Arcade) Released only in Japan.
2011 - Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream (Arcade) Released only in Japan.
2012 - Girls Mode (Nintendo 3DS)[3]

I've already made my feelings on them well known, but the best wrestling games I've played since No Mercy have been the first two Def Jam games, developed by AKI and published by EA Sports Big.

Have any of you played the Wrestle Kingdom games? They're developed by Yukes (same as WWE) but the gameplay is very similar to the No Mercy/DOR engine. Highly recommended, IMO, if you have the capability to play import titles (both games are on PS2, and the first one is also available on 360).

Yeah, that's why I said if you have the capability to play imports. ;)

Also fun - the MUSCLE/Kinnikuman games (you can get these on PS2 Stateside, as well). Also very similar to DOR/No Mercy and very reminiscent of the Def Jam games in terms of outrageousness - actually, quite a bit more outrageous to be honest.

I actually like the gameplay and controls of the current WWE games. I just wish they would fix their stupid servers, and fix some of the nit picky little stuff that should be obvious (like not having a guy get up immediately after being thrown off the Hell in the Cell roof). Also, I don't get why they took out some of the stuff from previous incarnations of the series, like being able to climb up on the announce table to do moves.

The instantly getting to your feet after a prolonged beatdown or big time move is the thing that finally turned me off from the series as a whole. Yeah, take three Screwdrivers... and now I go for a flying splash... oh wait you are on your feet in the time it took me to climb the turnbuckle, so no Snuka ending. :(

I like how realistic WWE 12 is in the story mode. Hot stable that breaks up immediately and everyone has to put HHH over after he returns from a long hiatus (I feel the game has been out long enough that I can say that).

I haven't fully played around with WWE universe yet. Can I still create ROH/FCW with mostly CAWs and with the right rings and everything? Or does the Uni mode go completely insane and I'm better off tracking it myself?

You can use custom rings. I changed Superstars to "ECW", complete with a custom ECW ring. Only thing you can't change is the opener music.

http://www.examiner.com/arcade-game-in-national/wwe-wrestlefest-remake-teases-february-21-release-date said:
Just weeks after The Simpsons Arcade Game finally made it to home consoles for the first time, another early 1990s arcade classic looks to do the same.

WWE Wrestlefest appears destined for release or a reveal on February 21, as evidenced by a teaser graphic featuring the Macho Man Randy Savage yesterday.

Rather than a direct re-release of the 1991 quarter-muncher, this new title will be remaking the classic with updated graphics and a new roster that mixes Superstars from the original game such as Jake "The Snake" Roberts and the Big Boss Man with modern day stars such as CM Punk and John Cena and those who fall inbetween those eras, such as Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker.

Teaser was posted on WWE Games' facebook account, apparently..
