Furthermore the game will will feature a multiplayer mode and "extensive downloadable content", which will probably include new fighters, arenas, and other similar items.

I'd like it on a console as well but I've been waiting for a competent wrestling game for iPad so I'll gladly take this.

I don't want to sound like CBright but right now I have a cell phone for texting and a computer for computing with no immediate need to shell out on something for "inbetween". I realize that in general this is a large marketplace to release a game in though.

Yah, totally. But, who knows.. If it does well on iOS, then there is a chance it could be ported to at least a handheld console.

I thought it would look more like the Arcade. This isn't as good.

That is an... interesting.. style for the graphical presentation. I was hoping for the pixellated look, but ah well..

Is it just me or does Savage completely outclass Orton in that second pic?

It's like...here's a STAR...and also Randy Orton.

Nah, I thought the same thing.

I won't be playing the game, but like Metal Maniac, the graphics don't bother me. I actually prefer a more cartoonish look (and recall when the AKI games for the N64 were being bashed on some sites for the cartoonish look of wrestlers).

I downloaded WrestleFest this morning on my iPad. Controls are a little touchy, but it plays exactly the same as the arcade version. There are also a lot more game modes aside from SNME & Royal Rumble, too.

Multiplayer is also in via Game Centre.

5 wrestlers are locked out (HHH, HBK, Bossman, Punk & Sheamus) and I'm pretty sure you have to play to unlock them (some people said they were DLC but that doesn't make sense as I fought a match against HHH and against Sheamus, I just couldn't choose to be them).

I hope the DLC is heavy on the Legends.. only Macho, Snake & Bossman are included so far. I need me some Mr. Perfect & Ted DiBiase tag team action. They were my go-to in the original game. ;)

Me too. Perfect/Dibiase were the team I usually went with as well, sometimes mixing it up with either Roberts or Quake.

Yeah, Bossman was usually my third for mixing it up (usually based on if my opponent picked DiBiase or Perfect before I could).

Oh, a little late but here is the WrestleFest trailer.

WWE WrestleFest - Out Now!

EDIT: BTW, Punk, Sheamus, HHH, HBK & Bossman (plus the classic Survivor Series arena) ARE DLC. They were released with the game and it's 99 cents to unlock them.

Man, that Wrestlefest game does look pretty sweet. Makes me wish I had an iPad. Hopefully they release it eventually for other consoles.

The controls are a little iffy, but it plays similar to the arcade version. There are more game modes and the Royal Rumble is slightly different. In the arcade you could eliminate somebody by pinning them, making them submit, or throwing them over the top rope. Now you have to throw them over the top to eliminate them.

My go to team this time is Savage/Punk.

The no pinfalls thing kind of makes sense, since WWF/WWE never had those rules to begin with (that was a Japanese thing, I think). I did always get a kick out of seeing the monkey pile pins, though.

Haha the monkey pile pins were great. I still remember the first time a friend and I discovered that you could do that. We were playing as Demolition in a Rumble and piled on Quake to eliminate him. It was the coolest shit ever, at the time. ;)
