Hey--

It's been quiet around these parts in terms of WWE SVR 2010 coverage, right? I know it's weird, and -- thanks to the hundreds of e-mails and message board threads -- I know you don't like it. Believe it or not, I don't chart the course for THQ's SVR coverage plan, so you're free to stop screaming at me any time.

Anyway, tomorrow's a bright day for you. I have the preview code for the game. I'm playing it now. Tomorrow, I'm giving you the keys to the creation kingdom with an expansive look at CAS, Superstar Threads, the Paint Tool, and CAF.

I know that a lot of you felt I didn't do enough on what was in the creation suite last year, so hopefully this deep, deep dive will do you right. Feel free to fire off the questions and suggestions you have right here so I can experiment with the build and get you some answers tomorrow. Remember, IGN's out in beautiful California, so look for the preview a little bit before 4 p.m. PST.

No online or multiplayer achievements works nicely. Looks like new people for story mode with Mickie James, HBK, Edge and Orton. New match type with Championship Scramble having some achievements. I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

Only thing I'm interested in is CAW and Season mode, so I'll wait for more info on those before paying up the money. I'm glad they've utilized the highlight reel videos a bit more and are allowing you to create your own titantron video with them.

--Today is a huge day for WWE mid-level talent because the announcement of who is in the Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 video game which starts at 4 p.m. is huge because of the size of the royalty checks talent gets from the game.

Reading the wikipedia entry, I gather Dave was TRYING to say "The roster is being announced to the public today at 4pm. Mid-carders make good royalty money off of this" because, in theory, they shouldn't be finding out today and already know. The only reason I went to wiki was to get the roster, but apparently the person who wrote the entry for "Roster" had no intention of transcribing the Gamespot podcast.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 will feature more than 60 in-game superstars.[18] The roster in the 2010 edition is split into six classifications: Raw, SmackDown, ECW, WCW, legends and free agents.[19] The roster was revealed on September 16 through a live webcast hosted on GameSpot.[23]

When the game is pre-ordered at certain stores, players will be able to attain a code enabling them to download an exclusive playable character as downloadable content. Depending on the store, the character is either Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock. While the code for The Rock will be transferrable at a later date, Austin's unlock code can only be used one time.[24]

Hart Dynasty aside I think this is better than most years.

Only Kidd, DHS, Jimmy Wang Yang, McIntyre, Haas, Funaki, Layla, Masters, Duggan, Noble, Alicia, Jillian, Rosa, Burchill, Katie Lea, Hurricane, Sheamus, Tyler Reks, Yoshi, and Ryder are missing. Mostly jobbers, divas, and those who haven't been around, or have only debuted recently, and I'm really only interested in half this list. We don't even know if the above is the full roster either. If DLC is better this time then everything will be fine.

Keep in mind that THQ has probably mastered the whole DLC thing and probably left out guys like the Hart Dynasty in order to milk money from us.
