Just to bring more negative...this stuff is genuinely incredible to me.

Carbon tax fails in Washington.
Death penalty repeal fails in California.
Solar energy plan fails in Florida, even though it was backed by utility companies.

Keystone XL will be built.
So will the Dakota Access Pipeline.

These things are major fucking beatdowns and in the case of the first three, I think this can be perceived as a settling of issues.

We're in the minority of this country politically.

Sorta. Hillary Clinton still got more votes than Donald Trump. She also approves of the death penalty. It just has to be accepted at a certain point that people lost that battle and continuing to fight it in the face of the majority will cost Democrats elections. People are progressive about some things and not about others. I've voted to repeal the death penalty two times. People want murderers executed. It's a settled issue now.

Also real talk. Is there anything Trump has promised to do that you think will be successful if he accomplishes it?

Juicy Juice Boy said:
Nothing that will be successful, no. The Republicans won't pass some of his things, like his infrastructure plan. When they don't, he's gonna go fucking crazy.

But the wall will be built and that will placate a lot of people.

I've got no business speaking for Dama, but I feel like this is not quite an answer to the question that he asked.

I'm just trying to find something positive from this.

Yeah, I got that. Feel free to correct me where I'm wrong, but I read you as asking, if Trump is able to push through any of the shit he campaigned on, will we actually be better off for it, and 909 was answering the question, will Trump be able to push through any of the shit he campaigned on?

I did answer the question in the first sentence.

"Nothing that will be successful, no."

Success implies that even if he passes those things, they will be a success for the American people. I can't think of anything. He is going to get a ton of shit passed though. Hold onto your butts.

Ah, so. I made the mistake of thinking that you didn't mean "success" the same way that I understood Dama to be talking about "success."

Treasury Secretary
Trump himself has indicated that he wants to give the Treasury secretary job to his finance chairman, Mnuchin, a 17-year-veteran of Goldman Sachs who now works as the chairman and chief executive of the private investment firm Dune Capital Management.

Health and Human Services Secretary
Among the names receiving buzz: Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Newt Gingrich, and Ben Carson, a former GOP presidential candidate. Carson has received the most attention lately for HHS, even from Trump himself.

Interior secretary

Lucas, the 74-year-old co-founder of oil products company Lucas Oil, is seen as a top contender for Interior secretary.

Trump’s presidential transition team is also eyeing venture capitalist Robert Grady, a George H.W. Bush White House official with ties to Christie. And Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr., is said to be interested in the job.

Meanwhile, a person who spoke to the Trump campaign told POLITICO that the aides have also discussed tapping Sarah Palin for Interior secretary. Trump has said he’d like to put Palin in his cabinet, and Palin has made no secret of her interest.

Other possible candidates include former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer; Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin; Wyoming Rep. Cynthia Lummis; and Oklahoma oilman Harold Hamm.

From HQ's link......WHY!?

With these picks coming in, it's already apparent Trump is pretty just a figure head. Empty suit who is being dictated to who to fill positions with.

Since Trump is good friends with the McMahons and all, maybe he'll institute a kiss my ass club.

Lyin' Ted, Little Marco and Paul Ryan should be the first inductees.

I knew net neutrality would eventually end. Too many rich and powerful people fighting for data caps. It was a matter of time.

It's funny they claim to be for the little man but everything they do is going to bleed us of money.

This is different than the Dubya wins because this is a reversal of what appeared to be certain trends. This must be how liberals felt in 1980, looking at those potential appointees.

Oh well, I guess the post-industrial age will have to wait. Stock up on breathing masks if you live in a big city!

I'm really upset right now and worried about how this will effect Canada but also all of my friends in the US. I don't have the energy or willpower to make a real post about this shit, at least not now. I'm going to eat some chicken strips and watch anime like a true man.

I will say to anyone I've been a dick to during all of this, especially last night I apologize. Politics bring out the worst.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how Trump is going to put money back in the pocket of his voters and get them jobs.
Just the net neutrality thing alone is going to bleed more money out of people.

Enjoy the fact that in 6-12 months your father will be cursing that "lying SOB Trump" when he doesn't do all he expects him to do.
